If a C3X is 10 bit processing with two HDMI connectors, does this make it an "e", ie, C3Xe ?

thanks

Oh, one more question: How much misconvergance is "acceptable" and If Sim2 says it is "acceptable within our standards", does this mean it really is ok, or should I steer clear from a unit being, say, 1/3 pixel misconvergence. In other words, how much % pixel misconvergance is really ok? Sometimes I feel PJ manufacturers may say it's ok just to be able to sell their product.

thanks in advance

Well are you getting this new or used? If used, they won't likely cover it at all. If new, you'd have to check with your dealer.

Used, more than likely. I think my situation at home will put me at least 1.5 sw. Hopefully this C3Xe wont have too much misconvergence. Which is why I'd like to have some sort of reference regarding what's really ok in terms of % pixel misconvergence.

thank you in advance.

Again though, no matter what Sim2 would allow, you would have no warranty. So if the particular place/person you were buying from didn't notice/care about convergence, and it is in fact bad, you would have no recourse. I'd suggest you try before you buy if you are concerned.

check out this link to see what I'm talking about. What are your thoughts? You can make the image bigger so you can see the misconvergence.

Opinions from others welcomed too.

Try this one. Please zoom in to get the result I'm talking about. Especially lower right hand corner of the image.

Im assuming you haven't seen this unit yourself, so cant verify the image exactly reflects what is seen in actuality. I only ask this as it appears to me that there are issues with the actual photo. The profile of some of the artifact doesn't look exactly as I would expect from a normal MC profile. The artifact is improving towards the edge, and gets to such magnitude, just in the space of that info panel, that by screen center it would be so huge as to be beyond belief.

I suspect the image is not entirely suitable for the job.

The image, or the PJ is badly focused, which can be an issue.

Can the camera actually capture the contrast of those lines properly (Ive seen, and taken, images like this from an essentially perfect machine, for that reason.)

Neither of the 2 previous, possible, issues are helped by that fact that the image is taken at an angle across ways. I know that because Im familiar with that info screen.

Also, If that image is a cropped part of a larger image, that has then been compressed, zooming in may be pointless anyway.

In order to judge (assuming you haven't seen the unit), get the seller to use the large "positioning" test screen and take a straight on, up close, image at dead center, center edge and corner.

PS. I see you are dealing with this across multiple threads. It may be better to use only 1.
