Seems like a no brainer to give Orville Redenbacher's 8oz packets a try. But I already like Country Harvest but what I hate about it is that approximately 10% or more of the kernels will never pop. Plus Orville Redenbacher's regular microwave popcorn is amazing, I am just wondering how their Popper kits taste like. I am down to one Country Harvest 8oz packet and I would love to try Orville Redenbacher next, which is a couple of bucks cheaper too.
Any suggestions?

I switched to the Orville 6 oz for my 4 oz machine. I think it tastes better than the country harvest and mega pop. I'm a permanent convert.

It's only expected for OR popcorn to taste better :D but I just wanted to hear it from someone else. I am ordering the 8oz packets (24 for $18.99 - thats a pretty good deal).

I tried them but stuck with Ellie Mae's hulless instead. Almost no hulls in it. plus it's must crisper on the reheat too.

This is the reply I got from HT-Express, it appears that Orville's pre-measured packets include 100% coconut oil instead of the coconut/canola/veg_oil mix with Country Harvest. I think I am going to take my chances with their $18.99 priced 8OZ_24pACK.
To the most discerning popcorn lover, the Orville kit does differ from the Country Harvest. If you’re getting many unpopped kernels from a fresh box, and you’re not ready to invest in a new popper, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to switch to the Orville brand. Many of our customer who make the switch are pleasantly surprised by its taste. The oil in the Orville kit is pure coconut, whereas the Country Harvest has an coconut, canola, vegetable mix. I myself have the Orville kit at home and love it!

Let us know how it goes! :)
Cinemagic also makes a pure coconut oil pre-pack. Iv'ed tryed that before and it was very similar to country harvest. (but not quite as good) Cheap, too.
I think the most important thing is the freshness. There certainly is a difference. What size popper do you have?

I have an 8oz popper, has a heat lamp, no heat tray
I liked Country Harvest, it tasted just like the movie theater popcorn especially after you add the hot butter with the Paragon dispenser. But it wouldnt hurt to try Orville, afterall they are the pinnacle of popcorn making, so I would hope for them to at least have a decent product for popcorn makers since their microwave popcorn is so damn delicious! :D
I will order tomorrow and hopefully post my impressions within a week from today.

It works best by far in my hot air popper. So I think it is worth a try as well.
