I recently connected a DVD/VCR combo player to the Mitsubishi WD-65735. DVD's work perfectly, but when playing back a tape, the tv displays a gray box in the center of the screen. It resembles what a menu box would look like. It displays it about 5 seconds into playback. If I select any type of tv function such as menus, aspect, video mode, basically anything that pops up a menu on the screen, the box goes away, but comes back as soon as the other menu is gone. It's not the tape as I have tried several. I have never seen anything like this, any help is greatly appreciated.

Turn off Closed Captions

Did you ever find a solution to this? I now have this problem on my Mits WS-55511.
