I just installed a Maestro switch model MRF2-6MLV-WH and can't get it to pair with my MX-810. Supposedly, you just push the tap panel on the switch for 6 seconds. All the LEDs start blinking. Next, you are supposed to push the OFF button on the remote for 6 seconds. This has absolutely no effect.

Anybody get the MX-810 to work with a Maestro dimmer switch?

I have this remote and have been thinking of getting a Maestro, so this is interesting :)

I'd have thought you'd need to pick a device you don't have (say a Panasonic DVD player) and program the 810's light device to the device you dont have - essentially just give it some random code. Then you can pair the 810 and Maestro to that code.

There is a Maestro setting under Lutron in the lighting device set-up. I didn't get a remote with the switch, so I can't really program the IR codes into the MX-810. I'm still a little curious about how the MX-810 PAIRs with a switch. This is a little different from your average device.

URC's lighting by Lutron is one of my best selling products and they are very good. If you have a URC remote you can basically have a very smart lighting system that is very easy to control.

The MX-810 uses address 0401 - 0420 ONLY. You may only use this range when programming the lighting.

I agree that the concept is great. What exactly do I need to do to make this work with these address ranges? I can't find how to set this in the MX-810 software. Is there something I need to do to the switch/dimmer?

aren't the maestro switches controlled differently than the "urc by lutron" switches?

or is it just that the maestro switches are ir and the urc/lutron switch is rf?

I'm assuming this gentlemen is using an RF URC dimmer made by Lutron which resembles the Maestro by design. The Maestro is IR only OR RF with ONLY the Lutron remote. I believe the model he mentioned is a URC dimmer model#. If not you CANNOT control a third party device via RF.

If he is referring to the URC dimmer made by Lutron he must set the address when programming the lighting codes between 0401 to 0420. Those are the only ones that will work the 810. Hope this helps.
