View Full Version : Monoprice - A resource for professional installers?
brigont 10-29-09, 06:17 PM Guys,
I have used monoprice for a variety of things and am generally happy with the quality of product.
I have my first opportunity to build a theater for a friend. He has a modest budget and I have been thinking about suggesting we look at monoprice for in-wall speaker cable, interconnects, hdmi extenders, etc.
I would appreciate any thoughts you guys have on using monoprice as a source for cables/interconnects/and related items.
Thanks in advance.
Brian
Johnsteph10 10-29-09, 06:24 PM I have bought cat6, hdmi, component, stereo, wall plates of all kinds, multiple tv mounts, etc. from them over the years and they have always delivered in spades.
billison 10-29-09, 06:33 PM They seam like a good place to go. I always shop around though... I ran cat 5e all through my house and only spent like 30 for 200 feet from ebay, i found speaker cable at lowes, 100 feet for 10 bucks... without a doubt though they are the best on alot of things.... but I always shop around. They have nice priced wall plates....
krusty20874 10-29-09, 07:49 PM I just recently ordered over $150 worth of cables, faceplates, and adapters for our new kick@ss video conference system at work. In fact, I've been ordering from them for years now and have not found any fault in their products or service.
bhuttman 10-29-09, 09:24 PM I'll add myself to the list of fans of Monoprice. I just spent about $350 there on HDMI cabling (a couple of long runs, too - 25 & 30'), an HDMI splitter, some RCA cabling, and a power bridge / faceplate for a projector installation... The stuff will be going into the walls over the next 3 weeks.
By the way, a local shop budgeted 4x that amount for my install... I still need to get speaker wire, but otherwise, Monoprice was the best solution for me.
ditto. been going there a long time now with -0- complaints. video, hdmi, specialty parts, cat 5, +++ Just ordered a 4x2 HDMI matrix switch from them today.
devilbones 10-30-09, 07:58 AM I have ordered from them and there are no complaints from me.
In2Photos 10-30-09, 08:40 AM I have only received one duff e-sata cable from Monoprice in the roughly $1000 I have spent with them over the last couple of years. Everything has been extremely well made and I do not hesitate to order from them when I need something. Shipping can get expensive if you need it quickly, but for normal delivery it is pretty decent.
Javatime 10-30-09, 08:42 AM I would absolutely go with monoprice. I can only say good things about their quality, price, and return policy.
tlogan6797 10-30-09, 08:49 AM I bought almost all my audio/video cables from them (500ft speaker cable, a couple of long HDMI, etc). Great service, fast shipping. I spent enough that I got "upgraded" and get a little extra discount.
I even turned my band's sound guy onto them when we needed some new XLRs and long 1/4" speaker cables. He was dubious of the quality upon seeing the price until he actually saw them.
Shoewrecky 10-30-09, 12:53 PM I just want to give Monoprice an A+ plus as well...I have used them for numerous items and I cannot complain with their service or prices!
