Hi, my two year old Sony KDS-60A3000 wouldn't power up today. So, I took out the bulb and found the filament is "cut" between the bulb and the reflector. I want to make sure this is a burned bulb (I believe it is) before I go ahead and spend $150 on a new one. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

Go ahead and order a new lamp...the electrode melted.

Thanks! I've never seen a filament melted like this (noticed the ends are round), so trying to determine if this is normally how a bulb burns up or if, for example, some voltage regulator is out of wack and burned the filament up like a fuse. Or, is this commonly how bulbs go? Thoughts?

Thanks again!

Great deal. Is the shipping included in that. Well i got mine for 197 including shipping Sony KDS-60A3000 (http://www.projectorlampsworld.com/bulb/Sony/KDS-60A3000.html). Because shipping was also included i prefered this one.

I order the bulb alone (will reuse the plastic cage) for $129 shipped from Bulb Solutions. Price includes shipping (2-3 days USPS Priority) and comes with a 1yr warranty on the OEM Osram brand bulb. It was the "cheapest" I found online. Supposedly it comes with a pair of cotton gloves so you don't get your greasy finger prints on the bulb (shorten bulb life). Should get here Monday or Tuesday. Will follow up when I get the bulb and stuff.

I recall you can also order the one with the plastic cage (laterally plug-n-play) for like $20 or 25 more.
