Hi, all! Looking for a recommendation for a repair tech in the Long Island area for Mits RPTV's. As of this morning, the power light will come on for about 2 seconds, then shuts down. I'm tempted to replace, but this unit has SUCH a nice picture...
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Get the error code:
After shutdown, press and hold MENU and DEVICE buttons on the front panel. The led will start blinking a two digit code and repeat, like 2 pause 2 or 4 pause 3...

Usually this shutdown is convergence IC failure and a few fuses. $400 service or $50 DIY (see signature).

Thanks so much for the reply! The error code is 2 pause 2. I have a feeling it may be a bad solder joint (or at least started that way - over the past couple weeks I've had very intermittent convergence problems - always went away quickly). Does this sound likely? And if I wanted to have a look at the solder joints before getting a repair guy in, can you describe the location of the convergence board, and the convergence IC?

Yep, 22 is blown fuses and bad IC(s). For detail DIY just read link in signature

Thnks again for the reply. Due to schedule constraints and terror of making things worse ( ;-) ), I found a local guy who was able to come out today and take care of things. As you predicted, $400 complete. Did component-level repair here in the house. If it happens again, I'll know what to do...
