Hi,

Just bought a couple Macbook Pros for my daughters (13"). They make videos and things and I'd like to play them on my HT set up.

The Macbooks have Firewire, USB, etc. What is the best means to get HI def video (and audio) to my projector> I have HDMI inputs, component, SDI, and RGBVH (15 pin) inputs.

What is best and what kind of adapter cable to you recommend?

Thanks.

Monoprice.com sells a mini-DP to HDMI adapter. It would work identically to the mini-DP to DVI, except for the cable. I find HDMI cables easier to work with because the plug end is less bulky.

However, depending on your projector, you might want to look into whether or not you can do zero-overscan. In some cases, some projection TVs (I know it's not the same) can't do zero-overscan on HDMI, but will do it on VGA. If your projector behaves in this fashion, then you might want to use a mini-DP to VGA adapter with a VGA cable.

One other thing to think about ... although it probably doesn't apply in your case. Some TVs don't have auxillary audio inputs for HDMI, but do for VGA. If you're using the TVs speakers, you'll want to use an input that has audio.
