I have been browsing the tv market looking for a 2nd TV. I have 2 PS3s and in my bedroom have been using old school "standard" tv which just isn't ok anymore. I currently have the Samsung 61" LED tv which I love. Was looking for a comparable bang for my buck deal for large tv. After some digging I think the -

Mitsubishi WD65C9 is my best bet for approx $1200 at Tiger Direct. If it's not ok for me to post the price and company just say so and I'll edit the post.

Assuming a million people don't post that it's the worst tv in history I am fairly sure I want it, but I need a tv stand. This tv will be a bedroom tv so we will be watching from bed. That means I would like my stand to be a little higher than my living room one.

In my living room I have the MD65 - http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...5/product.html

I actually find my current MD65 tv stand in my living room on the low side. Not that low, but I know for the bedroom I would want a stand that puts the tv a little higher.

Any recommendations on a nice looking tv stand that would seat a tv higher, and would be good for a bedroom 65" tv?

Does anyone have a recommendation for affordable tv stand that might be taller than your average stand?

I want it for my bedroom and would prefer to look up a little more comfortably. My current tv stand in another room seems to sit just a little too low for my taste.

I'm curious about this too as I, too, am going to be buying a 65C9 at some point. Mine is going in my living room though. Best Buy's stands are pretty expensive. I heard Ikea has some cheaper ones that should be fine but I haven't been over there to take a look.

I too am looking for a stand for a 65C9 before it arrives. My options are to get a new one similar in style to the MB-S60/65A but not as expensive or for the time being a piece of plywood that would be large enough to support the base but I'm having trouble finding out the dimensions of the base.

One of the nicer looking affordable TV stands I'm looking at is wedge shaped and it doesn't look like the rear feet are going to match in width and would end up hanging over the edge which is what I want to avoid.

I understand the mb-s60 65a stand has a method of securing the set to it but again I cannot find any kind illustration of how this is done other than being described as a groove for the front and a bracket for the rear.

Does anybody at least know the dimensions of the base itself especially the rear of the base.?

Here is an option, this is the stand I have my WD-60735 on, which means your 65" would hang off a bit on the sides but not by much I wouldnt think, and it has plenty of room for the footprint. Not expensive and big lots sales it.

And here are a couple pics of my television on the stand.

Thx Fors. I think, however, based on the size difference of tv and the price on the stand it's not the right solution. Not a bad price mind you, but I wouldn't mind spending a little more getting something that looked a little nicer for my setup. Looks good for your setup though for sure. Congrats!

Not really concerned with the screen being wider than the stand, just the base of the set. The stand I'm looking at 49.5 inches wide along the front edge but only about 24 inches wide at the back.

It's a really nice stand for the price having a metal frame with a glass top and shelves. I checked it out in the store so I know it's solid. It should match the set nicely.
