SARA...soon to be Navigator

Interested in swapping the original 80GB to a 250BG HDD.
I have several recordings that I do not want to lose on the original HDD. Is there a way to move the recordings from the old HDD to the new?
Thank you.

Qualifier: I have no experience with SAS to Navigator!!!

If the Navigator upgrade makes all previous recording unwatchable then you are out of luck. However, if the upgrade is transparent to the existing recording then it is possible to clone the internal HDD to a larger drive. But you should only do this if you own the box. Tampering with a rental unit will void the rental agreement and you could face charger for the box from your cable company.

The procedure to clone the internal drive is similar to the process for cloning an external drive. Search the web for details, or post back here for links.

Interesting...not sure yet what the Navigator firmware is going to bring. From what I was told today by a TWC tech. support (useless) employee, the eSATA port is not yet active w/ this release, so I am looking to upgrade the internal HDD. Anyone have a good link for cloning a DVR HDD? Is this the same process as cloning any hardrive. Thank you.

eSATA isn't compatible with the HDC boxes but the legacy HD boxes do support eSATA.
