Hi guys, im planning on getting a 54'' s1 to mount on the wall in the next couple of weeks. my delema is that i can get a really good deal on a 50'' s1 instead (about $300 cheaper). my question to you guys is the following, would a 54'' wall mounted still look bigger than say 50'' mounted on the tv stand about 1 foot closer to the seating possition ?

the viewing distance is about 8ft on the table and 9ft mounted on the wall

Get what you can afford.

Get what will bring you the most pleasure...the 54".

There are published guidelines for this type of thing but I suggest this is a very individual issue. I sit 12' from a 106" diag screen but some folks will sit even closer.

8ft from 54" is a very nice distance in my opinion. I have a 50" plasma in one room and sit 8 ft from it.
