Hi,
My 2 years old Samsung DLP HLR5667w just go nuts on me. When I turn on the tv (hooked up with cable tv), the whole screen turned green square pattern. It happens to all the video inputs (dvd, cable tv), but when I press "menu" on the remote to show the TV guide window colors are ok, except the little channel window on the top right corner. Or when I use "PIP" or "Picture In Picture" mode, the main picture is all greenish, but the sub picture is perfectly fine.
Also, I don't hear any sound (clicking, high pitch) when I turned on the tv.
I have attached some photos. Please help me point out the problem, I am trying to avoid buying parts that do not fix the problem, thanks.

Buying parts is not the problem, making sure you're buying the right part, is. :)

What I can suggest is that you research your tv problems a little more before making up your mind on what to get. This is my second DLP from Samsung and with the first one I had a Color Wheel problem. The second one is the DMD board..

There are a lot of helpful people here, but you have to do some searching around on your own as you are the only one there with the TV.

Keep us updated on your progress. Tomorrow I'll be ordering my DMD board so we'll see..

Thanks all,
I have tried to eliminate all the external factors by only hook the power to the tv, but still the screen comes on with green square patterns. It sounds like the issue with the digital and analog boards that Joe was talking about. I'll certainly go research for more on this b4 I order anything.
BTW, how does that DMD board coming along, Stenopete? Do let me know how it work out, perhaps I can buy it from the same place, thanks.

I have the 50" model of the same tv and it's doing the exact same things. I've been trying to research the problem and came across your thread.

Currently, the tv started to work again, still not sure why it does it. However, after a long period of researches and contacts with the professionals. We believe it's the digital board that need to be replace (not the DMD board, they are different) and the part number is BP96-02168A or compatible part number is BP94-01858A. Unfortunately, these both parts are out-of-stock without any time estimation. If you are lucky to find the part, please do let me know the result, thanks.
