Well, I found a Gold Medal Whiz Bang at a local thrift that was just too good a deal to pass up, so now it's in the garage awaiting a good cleaning. I do have a couple of questions, though.

Is there anything special about the heating bulb, or will any 65 watt flood lamp do? Gold Medal wants something like $15 for a bulb, but it looks like a standard flood lamp to me, which should be about $2-3...

Also, it's a 12oz kettle, but will it hurt it to pop less, or should I always use a full charge?

Not sure about the full charge, but the bulb that came with mine looks to be a standard mini indoor flood to me.
