i just switched from comcast to AT&T and my new motorola box is a vip 1200 DVR.

what i want to know is does AT&T get on you for recording shows and movies on to another DVR ?

i know my motorola box is a dvr and i can record programs and shows easier than using my panasonic DVR. but i like to record on to MY panasonic DVR incase i want to save it to a disc.

i recorded a movie awhile back from the AT&T box to my panasonic DVR and works. but when i look at the thumbnail on the menu after saving it on to the hard drive theres a little X on the bottom of the thumbnail. i have never gotten that before with comcast. its like AT&T knows im recoding off their box or something. but when i play the movie off the panasonic theres no X or anythng anywhere it plays fine. it just has a little X on the thumbnail. but still the x on the thumbnail its like a sign that im not supposed to be doing that with them.

i just want to know if they track you or something or they can get on your back for recording off their box. because my box's are connected to the internet so it has an IP address going out thats what really bothers me.

No, they can't track you, and even if they could, you're exercising your fair use rights and have absolutely no reason to be concerned.
