Hey Guys,

Thanks in advaance for helping me out :D.

I just ordered a pair of JBL L890. I am yet to decide on a good mid-range receiver for that. I read some in the other threads that a good quaility amp is needed to maximize the potential of these speakers. Say I order a receiver like Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K, what can go wrong and why do I need extra options.

My budget is around $600 for the amps+receiver.

I would mostly use it for listening to music. Gaming on ps3 and watching movies is a plus.

Try this question in the JBL Owner's thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=866797). There are more than a few L890 owners there.

I can give you my $0.02...

I have the complete Studio L Series (with a pair of L890 as my front mains). My AVR is a Harman Kardon AVR 630. Despite what some may tell you, I haven't had any problems with it since new. It's beautiful to look at, tons of features, and extremely powerful. I paid $1200 for it in 2004.

The equivalent from HK today is probably the AVR3600. I've seen them online for sale for around $800.

If you can live with less features/power, the AVR1600 or AVR2600 offer great value.

By the way, great choice in speakers!:D
