Yea Power Buy!!! Your timing couldn't be more perfect. I just sent you an email on some price quotes... I'll resend my request under the power buy.
I'm thinking the Berkline 12006s or maybe the 13175s will be perfect for my theater.

Are the power buys only on certain berkline models or any that berkline makes and you can special order?

I finally took the plunge and jumped in on this as well. I ordered three curved 12003's in leather/vinyl with Buttkickers. As others have mentioned, Roman has been great. I asked a slew of questions over the past two months, changed my mind, etc. He took it all in stride and answered every question in detail. I'm very happy with the level of service I've received. I can't wait to have my family over to enjoy these seats and my theater during the holidays.

I jumped in with both feet, and ordered 6 Berkline 40532's via Roman. He's very patient, prompt in answering questions, and is really easy to deal with. Amazing prices! 8 week countdown starts. . . (Will report back when they arrive)

Update: Roman says 1/7/10 is the magic date. Stay tuned :)

Does anyone know where the power controls are for the seats that don't have an armrest? I was thinking of getting a couple rows with loveseats and at least one of the chairs won't have any arms in this configuration. Has anyone ordered seats with the |o|oo|o| seating?
Craig

The control would be on the right side of the seat. Whn you put the chairs one up against another, it will be hidden, so you would need to slide your hand down between the seat and another seat or armrest (depending where the armless piece is) and push the button there.

I've been nagging my wife to buy home theater seatings and I used this Scratch and Save promo to convince her to buy now. She finally agreed :), and I just ordered 4 of the new Group 45034 curved with loveseat in bonded leather burgandy.

I admit it was difficult to decide without actually trying it, but the price and as others have noted, communication with Roman has been great.

I also picked up 3 of the 12000s with the buttkicker package from Roman who was very responsive to my questions. I am local in NJ to his warehouse and stopped by to take the various models for test drive and was torn between the 12000 and 12003. I really liked the storage option on the latter but for me the 12000 was a slightly better fit and offered better neck support.

Now just have to stay patient and wait for everything to deliver :)

Is this the same for the 45034 model? Both loveseats have the power buttons hidden on the side sitting area?

Could you do a 5301/5301/5201/5201 and achieve the same I0I00I0I while keeping all the power options at easy reach?

Yes you could, and I would actually recommend this configuration for two reasons:
1. All power recline controls will be on the armrests.
2. You will have a flexible configuration, where you can do IOIOOIOI or IOOIIOOI

Yes you can. the only one thing to remember. The 024-08 game console is made in USA, so it will work well with all domestic groups (the ones that start with "45") because the will match the leather. Since the imported groups (the ones that start with "1") will have different leathers, it would be difficult to match. Also, the imported groups do not have the Left Facing Arm recliners, so the configuration shown on the picture will not be doable.

Eyleron
11-29-09, 06:54 PM
Can you point me towards a resource for equating the import versus domestic models of the seats? Like, the 12000 is the same dimensions/functions as which domestic model?

There is none, but I believe if you did a search on the forum, you would find a thread where I gave this info.

Anyway, here it is:

13174 is an imported version of the 45090
12005 is an imported version of the 45099
12003 is an imported version of the 45094
12006 is an imported version of the 45088

12000, 13217 and 13175 have no domestic equivalents.

The 12000 does resemble slightly to the 45008,
The 13175 has similar (dimension wise) recliners that are 45004 and 45032

Just received four 45032's from Roman yesterday. The buggers were a chore to get upstairs by myself, but I couldn't wait. :-)

I ordered red cloth with power recline in a straight row configuration. Would liked to have put a second row in, but decided there just wasn't quite enough space (18' x 12' room, but with an awkwardly placed, large step in the middle of the room).

Watched "The Graduate" last night to break them in. Tried several different reclining positions, mostly variations on the degree of incline for the back. I'm 5'6" and the span from top of the headrest to the bottom of the foot rest was more than enough for me. Full recline, however, dropped my head too low and forced me to add a pillow unless I slouched a bit more than usual.

To squeeze in an extra chair, I decided on a single walkway config. So I ordered IO, IOI, OI, OI to have flexibility in arranging them:

|IOI...IOOIOI|
|IOIOI...IOOI|
|IOIOIIOOI...| (left or right walkway)
|IOIOIOIOI...| (left or right walkway)
|IOIIOOIOI...| (left or right walkway)
|IOOIIOIOI...| (left or right walkway)
|IOOI...IOIOI|
|IOOIOI...IOI|

My initial setup was|IOIOI...IOOI|, because the entry door is centered with the walkway there. But, |IOOIIOIOI...| gives me a chair almost directly centered with the screen. I'll have to change it before the wife gets too used to it.

The seat, back, and foot rest all provide soft cushioning that is also supportive, but there is not so much cushion that the chair loses its form either. The lines and contours look identical both before and after you've sat on the chair (I wasn't convinced this was the case, judging by the pictures I had seen). The armrests have little cushion, which I prefer, so that I can set the remote on a chair arm without if flopping around and falling off.

I wish there was a way to daisy chain the 110V power connections, but a simple power strip fixes that issue. Oddly, half of my chairs had adapters on the transformer brick that looked like they were designed for this purpose, but the chairs themselves did not.

Overall, I have a positive initial impression. Not only are they great to lounge in, they look great in the theater! No regrets on this purchase, especially after my dealings with Roman. He's got an unbeatable price and he's wonderful to work with.

anyone help me make a decision?

Anthony,
The continuous support feature really wasn't a factor in my decision, but I can say the extra support behind the knees is nice. I did notice the difference right away. But again, not sure it would affect my decision if repurchasing.

Disclaimer: the 45032 is the only Berkline model I've tried out.

Just like to say thanks to Roman for all his help. His customer service cannot be beat. But believe me the local stores her in Phoenix didnt give him a run for his money. Both on price and product knowledge. Getting mine Friday.

One quick question, on the invoice it says delivery to the garage. Most LTL deliveries I have dealt with have always been drop it off at your driveway and it up to you from there. Anyone that has gotten these chairs have any experience with the freight companies want to explain the process. I am hoping my girlfriend can just inspect and sign for it instead of me taking off work. Any information would be appreciated.

Rob,

The curb side delivery means that it will be one driver who sometimes needs help unloading the boxes from the truck, so you probably should be there to accept the delivery.

The insight delivery is free bonus that we offer, and it means that after the boxes are on the ground, the driver will use a hand cart to bring them into your garage or house if there is no steps.

Last week I received 3 12003's in black leather match to complement the row of three 45004's I already had (no my back row). I went with the full-sized buttkicker option. The chairs are really nice, and definitely fit me better than the 45004's (I'm 6'3"-6'4"). They are very comfortable and really have nice lumbar support. The snack tray feature is really nice and already getting put to good use.

I did have a problem with the buttkicker amp I received. It was making a squealing noise and not providing full power. The manufacturer immediately remedied the problem and sent me out a replacement no questions asked.

Overall I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. The chairs are great, and Roman provided excellent service and communication throughout the process. I'd definitely recommend him as a vendor.

I received 7 of the motorized 13175's in brown leather/vinyl combo and I love them so far. Although I have not sat in them for a long time yet since the projector and screen have not arrived yet, I can tell they will be plenty comfy. I am 6'4" 210 and my head rests perfect on the cushions. These seats recline so far back I could easily fall asleep in them. The delivery man got them off the truck just fine with the rear lift. I did give him a hand pulling the cart up the driveway to the garage since it's on a slight incline.

gdrapp,

I announced the winners in a separate thread. It was closed because some of the forum members (who BTW did not even participated in the power buy) started questioning my "motifs" in giving out the prizes...

Apparently, the person who won the Lutron package only had 3 posts since 2004. There were two guys who began talking about that, doubting and questioning the PB Prize drawings results. I am not sure what exactly happened, but I believe the moderator warned them, and then decided to close the thread.

The winners were notified by email, and accepted the Prizes. I would have had posted them again here, but I do not want to have the same thing happening all over again.

I do recognize the fact that no matter how well our intentions are, there are always people there who would have doubts and look for some sort of conspiracy.

All this causing negative reaction on the forum, and that is not what I would like to see...

I was one of the guys just joking around about it, but I must say the other dude commented that 2 out of the 3 guys hadn't posted at all in the forums yet has been a member for years (not just the one who won the lutron).

I did comment that is how many AVSers are (silent members) who do not feel the need to participate as much as we do.

I'm the one that won the Lutron system. This is post number 4 for those of you counting at home (or is it possibly 3 again since that thread was removed).

I just wanted to chime in and vouch for Roman, who has been great to deal with. The drawing did happen, the winners are real.

Don't underestimate the number of people who come here to learn (the silent members as you put it), rather than to share. I'm an amateur at HT, so I don't have much knowledge to impart, nor am I particularily social in nature. Add it all up and it equals me not posting to the forum much at all. Sorry to disappoint.

Well my chairs finally came today (took a bit longer as I added Buttkickers later), and pleased to say that it was worth the wait. :) The chairs are firm yet comfortable with good back support and the power recline works well and quietly. The bonded leather and #78 color turned out much better than I expected. The Buttkickers works well for movies, but I don't think I will used it for music. The only thing I don't like so much is location of the recline switches of the loveseats, though I hope I'll get used to it.

Those are the 45034?
I thought the power buttons were supposed to be like this? Did you get the lighted cupholders and rails?

The bonded leather is really impressive, when I was looking at swatches I thought it felt the best and then noticed it was the bonded:o

That was what I though too, but I'm guessing it's because I didn't get the lighted cupholders and base. Either way I'm happy with the standard switches. One other change which I knew about was with the use of the mini buttkickers in the loveseats instead of the full size. And yes, I was impressed with the bonded leather as well. Thanks.

Glad to hear you like your seats, I am looking at the same style. If you get a chance can you measure your seats from one end to the other. I know the measurements on their web site but would like to see if there is any variance.

I measured it to be about 124" which is like the specs (curved with loveseats config). I also think the color and leather looks better in person than the pictures.
