I have a GMA 950 mini, and I've been holding out on SL since you all have been passing along the horror stories about dropped frames and stuttering. Is life any better under 10.6.2 now that it's out? I notice that it fixes "an issue in Front Row that could cause sluggish or slow frame rates while watching videos." Any improvement with EyeTV?

Upgraded my mini to 10.6.2 last night and all is well with Front Row now. The wife was very happy...

Is your mini a GMA 950 or a GeForce 9400M?

Can anyone suggest some free download (a trailer or something, no pirating) that

doesn't play well in Front Row with a computer using a GMA950 (or GMA X3100) running OS X 10.5

and

does play well with the same setup using 10.6.2?

I have a Macbook with X3100 that I'd like to re-purpose for video use (an excuse to buy a newer notebook).

I haven't tested on SL at all, based on the comments about stuttering playback with Plex and 10.6.1. Now that a new version of Plex is out and Apple has released 10.6.2, I'll have to give it a go.

The stuttering in Front Row has disappeared with 10.6.2, with Front Row now on par with DVD Player (I have a late 2009 Mac Mini with 9400M).
However, this update also broke the Apple Remote control within EyeTV !
It can be (temporarily ?) restored installing the Candelair IR driver (http://www.iospirit.com/labs/candelair/) (the Remote Buddy's one) AND setting ON the "Leopard Compatibility Mode" in Candelair's control panel.

Note that there is a known bug in EyeTV 3.2.1 when displaying H.264 channels (dropped frames, pixellating due to too heavy CPU usage), which 10.6.2 did not cure.
