I'm just wondering if I would notice the difference in the specs between the 2. The room it is going in will have some ambient light during the day, but most viewing will be at night time. Do the few extra lumens and little better contrast really make that much difference on the HD20?

If I were you, I would do a forum search for each model and spend some hours reading. After you are done, you may have a better idea of which will be better for you. Specs and price are not different enough to be a factor.. you need to find out who is having what issues with which product. The HD20 seems to be the most popular and I have been following that thread for a few weeks and don't really see anyone to upset .. most are very happy.
