Just wondering if there are any programs out there that will convert 720p mkv files to a dvd format for Mac ? I've tried using VisualHub but the output is choppy in some parts. Might be a settings issue but I don't know what to adjust.

I just tried another program called Aimersoft DVD Creator for Mac that worked pretty well but it creates an annoying title screen that you can't disable.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Toast 9 will do this for you. (I have to admit, though, that I rarely do this: if I have a nice, very high quality version of a file, I tend to keep it that way.)

Is there something specific about Toast 9 as opposed to Toast 10 ? I have Toast 10.

I fully understand I'll be losing quality by taking a 720p mkv file and trying to get it to fit on a dvd 5 disc. I just want to be able to share the movies with family / friends that don't have HTPC's or Apple TV's.

Can't help you there, 9 does everything I need it to do. I'd assume if 9 can do it, so can 10.

If you're starting with 720p content, the end result as a standard dvd or disc image can really look good--especially if you use the "best" setting in Toast rather than the "better" setting. It just takes a long time.

Thanks for all your help. I'll give Toast 10 a try and see how it goes :)
