I have an Optoma H31 with 2K hours on the lamp. It's looking a little soft and dim, I'm now running the lamp on High. After 4+ years of flawless service it may be time for an upgrade. I use it for movies and games in a nearly light controlled environment by day, bat cave by night, on a 92" screen.
The new budget 1080P models have caught my attention. I know they'll be better for movies, I'd upgrade to BR soon as well. My main question is for gaming. Just played Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox360, I'm wondering if I'm leaving a lot of game detail on the table with only 480 lines.
Anyone upgrade from 480 to 1080 and have an opinion on gaming improvement, particularly on the new HD games? Developers can model a square at 1080, but it may not look better than 480 due to polygon density and such.
