Well, it's been a LONG while since I've posted on AVS... good to be back.

Welp, my "PLAY Everything" OPPO OPDV971H finally died... (actually the REMOTE died, and now I can't control anything except the buttons on the actual device, so it is basically useless...


I'm looking to buy a new "Play everything" player, (plus/minus Blu-ray) that can play DivX/Xvid as well, ... and have completely been out of the loop on the new players. Any recommendations? (something not too expensive) I may post this on the blu-ray player forums as well...

if you want sddvd the denon dvd2930 cant be beat--check crutchfield or vanns for current ridiculous pricing! the 5910 is a pretty sweet deal too if you demand the absolute best. you looking for blu ray too?

I got the Denon DVD-2390CI from Vann's for $199 and free shiping. It is the best deal for an universal SD player...

Have you considered asking Oppo to sell you a new remote? Prolly a lot less that you'd expect.
