I am in need of a DVD player with upconversion for a secondary bedroom. I ran across a Dynex player and the price fits the bill. My only concern is buying an off-brand like this. Anyone have any hands on experience with Dynex products?

It's been my experiance with Best Buy store brands that they are generally crap.

Don't have direct experience with Best Buy store brands, but in general a DVD player for less than $40 should be considered disposable (especially in light of the 90 day warranty).
It might be okay if it gets used only a few times a year. If it gets any more use (like this secondary bedroom is a permanent resident's room and not a guest room), I'd look at a name brand at least. You might pay twice as much, but you'll get more longevity than the cost of two of those Dynex players.
Walmart has a Philips at about the same cost $44. Upscales pretty well for the price.
