My budget is 1500 max and primary viewing is actually just TV. I don't even have a BD player, heh.

i'm currently looking at the panny 50s1, 54s1, and s50g10. I'm somewhat worried the 54 would be too awkwardly large in my living room. it can fit it, it just might look too big.

I've seen the g10 and i'm very impressed. in theory the s1 should be able to match the g10 with proper calibration... but this to me seems like a toss up.

i can get the g10 for 1300 on amazon with a free bd60. i can get the s1 with the same player for 1000. I'm leaning towards the g10 though since i figure it's more future proof with the internet connectivity and it will probably have better picture with less tweaking. also it's within budget. but the hitch that i just found out was that the bd60 has a freezing problem... so should i even factor that in?

i've also looked at lcd's... samsung in particular. which is the best samsung lcd under 1500? the ln52b650?

unless your room is 5'x5', it won't be too big. Get the largest display you can afford and will physically fit
