We just sold our Sammy 61" DLP...
I have been looking at tv's for a week and reading about plasmas for 2 weeks-ish. I am pretty sure I want a plasma and kind of narrowed it down to 3 tvs.
We use our tv's for hd tv content(csi, lost, fringe, and lots of football) and movies.

My range is right around 1k.

Sooooooooooo if you were me which of these would you pick and why?

Sammy PN50B550

Orrr am I totaly missing out on a tv close to this range that is much better?

LOL...Sold it because we moved to a smaller apartment. I am more concerned with quality and features.

I would go 50 over 40 in a heartbeat. It will still be fine for a small apartment. Which narrows your choice to the 50S1 and the 50B550. Both are excellent sets, so I guess it comes down to personal preference.

.. 50G10 or 50B550 are both great options; a relative has the "A" version of the 550 .. very good picture w/ no problems after ~ year/half. "G" model, i presume, is a better option than "S" & in yr price range:
