What do you guys think? To dim? I really want a plasma, but I don't know.

Panasonics are plenty bright (you won't have any trouble seeing the pictures itself), but in daylight the blacks of the screen become a bright grey/green (the color of the glass). Can you live with that?

How noticeable? Is LCD better in the day?

An LCD (like a Samsung) with black glass will have inky blacks in the day, but on the downside shadow detail will be completely lost. It's something I too am currently struggling with as I hope to migrate from an LCD to a plasma.

......With arrival of the TCP50G10, you can use plasma in brightly lit rooms that previously required an LCD panel....... (http://hdguru.com/panasonic-tcp50g10-50-plasma-review/416/)

You make it sound like the tv just looks awful during the day. I own a g15(same as a g10) and it looks fine during the day. Sure it doesn't look as great as it does at night, but in a room full of windows opposite the tv it still is perfectly watchable. I've never noticed a grey or green color during the day. Just less black(maybe very dark grey but that's a stretch).

Brightly lit material like sports is perfectly wonderful even in the day on a Panasonic. It's dark material (with large areas of black) that you wouldn't want to watch without pulling the shades. The left of the screen on this Panasonic is supposed to be black, but the northward-facing windows several feet to the left of the screen illuminate the glass/phosphors where the screen ought to be black:

It's still perfectly watchable mind you, but it's very much like watching a cheap LCD with terrible black levels.
