I am just now getting ready to start a project to finish my basement. I have an area that is 19 x 13 to use for my Home Theatre.

I have been reading a lot of the buliders threads, and have come up with some great ideas! Thanks to all for being so generous with your ideas. I will definately be stealing a few.

One question I have, but haven't got a clear answer for...The stage below the screen. Is this purely for aesthetic purposes? And I would guess the stage is filled with sand to allow stability when the sub is placed on it.

Can someone let me know if there are other considerations for a stage?
