Going digital will only occur if I can be seduced by what they can do well and it would be on a 14' wide 2.35:1 AR screen.

Yes, Steph is very nice looking. She is a girly girl in every way. She has also been an epic pain in the a$$ for so long that I'm happy to see her use her looks finally to her advantage. So far that shot is the most risque of what she has done but it is hard to deny that she has an incredible lower body, gorgeous skin ,hair and facial feature. She is in fact the best looking red head I've ever seen period. Her mother goes with her on her recent modeling shoots but Angela did a lot of nude modeling when she was in what she and I call fighting form so I doubt that she would temper that side of it much. :D

No way to know that. Literally I won't do it until I'm sure there is a way that a different set up will give me that stupid grin again.

I will also need to demo one of them a great length with lots of my own software. They were very pretty at CEDIA but I need lots more info. The 14' wide CH set up has a allure but it must have a picture that will hammer what I have and that's the problem............I'm not so sure any such device exists.

I will have to say when I was in your theater, the truly black scenes were like looking into a black hole in space, not even light can escape these places just as your screen was the blackest black I have ever seen.

If you are looking for blacks from the digitals, I know you will be disappointed. There is no contest between CRT and every other technology. Anyone who says different is a fibber.

Now shadow detail...that is a different story. That is what allowed me to move from CRT to digital. The Pearl satisfies my needs and that is all that counts. Once you find your satisfaction, I can't wait to see your grin. :D :D :D

Thanks regarding Stephanie... of course I agree. :D As far as shadow detail there are gamma control processors which allow one to have little or no loss of shadow detail and keep blacks as CRTs can do it. My Faroudja requires me to give and take at the extreme low end as Ken and I looked at very very closely the day before my meet using some new software over the HDDVD player.

It will take several things to pull me away from what I have and, yes ,I know that there is nothing that can render black as well as CRT.

How's it going? I am breaking in my *new* Panny 50" plasma... so far so good. I paid as much as I could at Best Buy using their triple rewards-zone deal (the typical sale price). If all goes well, I will price match the Circuit City Thanksgiving weekend ad and get 110% percent of the difference, plus some BB Bucks to spend on a new digital camera for my wife.

The PS3s were at BB today. Sold out in 30 minutes. FWIW, the PS3 is a great compliment to any HT. I love it. One sophisticated piece of hardware.

FYI, I did all my BlackFriday shopping on line, most of the items offered are avail. online. A few are in store only but who cares. Wife was walking out the door at 5:00 am, I had been to BB, CC, and Sears and was back in bed at 5:15am.

don't know what you mean by sweet tasting. Its a dark beer it was a bit more carbonated then most beers. I don't tend to be a dark beer drinker but I actually liked it. It has a milder taste then Guinness and some other dark beers.

I tend to be experimental when it comes to food and drink. So sometimes I like to just randomly buy a few beers and try it out.

It's kind of hard to describe, but to me the sweeter beers usually have kind of a fruit, chocolate, honey or almost like a cream soda essence (especially in the aftertaste). I tend to like lighter beers also (heavy stouts like Guinness make me gag) but I love Modelo Negro.

Miller Lite tonight.

If you like sweet beer try Brazilian malsbier (I'm not sure how to spell it). They make it for the winter in Brazil. It is malty and sweet, but not sugary like a mead or something.

Christmas shopping with the wife tonight! :eek: Hopefully I'll be rewarded with a nice meal out someplace, accompanied by a pint (or two) of Sam Adams. :)

While visiting my grandma in St. Louis we took a tour of the Anheuser Busch factory and HQ. The entire place takes up 7 blocks if I remember right. This is the building they are packaged in. At the end of the tour we got two free beers out of a small selection to choose of. I have more photos if anyone is interested.

I just got a very cool Christmas gift from one of my Telco clients. Its an electric wine cooler that sets the correct temperature for storing red or white wine. It can accommodate 6 bottles at a time and it has a digital temp readout . Made in China but it looks real neat in matte black with a glass door.

I just got a very cool Christmas gift from one of my Telco clients. Its an electric wine cooler that sets the correct temperature for storing red or white wine. It can accommodate 6 bottles at a time and it has a digital temp readout . Made in China but it looks real neat in matte black with a glass door.

I am putting it in my mini bar inside the theatre. Looks like my scotch will take a back seat for a while during the Holidays!

Probably my worst experience with the MD 20/20 was going to one of the Bloom Trail HS football games when I was a Senior (they were a rival to my high school Bloom Township) and drank a couple of bottles before the game.

I basically dont remember anything after the first half and in the second half I guess I started a brawl, and got kicked out. Needless to say, it didn't end there. Afterward, when we were getting gas, I guess some tool sitting in his car mouthed off to me and I gladly walked up to him and clocked him real good.

So good, that I woke up the next morning in jail and didn't remember a damn thing! My friends gladly gave me the memories of that night to which this day, I cant remember. That stuff is EVIL!!!!!! :eek:

It was 1988, I was 16, my brother bought me grape MD 20/20. Tasted like ASS, buzzed like hell, don't remember much that night other than stumbling around like never before and my buddy puking from the little bit he had. The bottle reminded me of a large old fashion medicine bottle. I did not dabble much with the beast after that. Did I say it tasted like ASS???

1973, Rocky Fork Lake, southern Ohio. I was 17 on the eve of enlisting in the United States Air Force and then onto Viet Nam. One bottle of Southern Comfort later, I'm singing like a sick Jethro Tull. I have no idea what happened next......Miller Lite tonight....I haven't touched any kind of liquor since 1973....

Me?...I haven't had a drink in 2 weeks due to some medication I was on...tonight...started off with a Dirty Martini and now I am sipping some Zinfandel from Barefoot (gift from Sister in Law- not bad- Wine and Sister in Law too) before I sit down for some filet mignon....life is good!

Current drink is a little K&V with a 1/2 vicodin chaser (I broke the weak spot in my right index finger *again* repairing one of my PCs). I've lost count of how many times I've re-broken it, but the splint either gets in my way so I don't wear it or I "lose" one in the middle of the night if I have to pee and forget to take it off.

Two 22oz Sam Adams after work with the guys now cruisin' the AVS looking for ideas for my to be HT/fun room upstairs. Couldn't be happier after a crappy week of work on a f**king snowy night in Maine...in the second half of March.

New keg of Miller Lite...snow storm didn't stop the delivery...I don't think I'll see 10 p.m.

Nice job on your bar. It looks great. I did the same thing with the rope lights on my bar. Very cool look to it. I also have the same kegerator. I did a retrofit on the controls. I removed the existing thermostat and installed a Johnson Controls digital stat. I keep my beer at a ice cold 33 degrees with a 1 degree offset. (pic was taken after a new keg was put in hence the 35 degree reading, green LED below LCD display shows unit was in cooling mode) The stock stat would only get my beer down to 38.

Miller Lite tonight. Just finished the final connections on my equipment rack. Here is a pic. My gear is in a separate room which eliminates any sound issues other than fan noise from my projector. All controlled via Pronto TSU-7000 / RFX6500 combo. Works flawlessly.

Thanks Kipp. I hate the first couple of days of a new keg. The local Miller Dist. keeps their storage area around 40 degrees. It takes me at least three days to get the draft down to 35 degrees. I will have to look into the new t-stat.

Same here. What I did was buy a refrigerator and put it in my garage. I keep a spare keg out there and by the time I am ready to swap for it, the temp on the new keg is down to the lower 30s.

Yeah....my last keg turn around was 10 days! I gotta slow down :)

We finally moved our kegerator behind the bar that is in the finished basement that also serves as our home theater powered by our PS3 and Mitsu HD1000u.

We put in a 1/6 keg of Tröegs HopBack Amber and plan to move to a two keg setup. The HopBack is good stuff. And I picked it up directly from the brewery!

Kipp, It's going to be a two 1/6 keg setup because we like the local craft brewed beers and the idea of choice between a session beer and a seasonal beer. I ordered some parts at Micromatic (http://www.micromatic.com).

It is going to involve getting a new 3" (diameter) draft tower with two faucets, another Sankey keg coupler, a Y-adaptor that attaches to the regulator and a new second air valve for the new second air line.

I am going to try to do this within a month's time. It is a simple upgrade.

Depending on the size and interior dimensions of the kegerator, two slim 1/4 kegs may fit as well.

I will get some pics up soon.

As requested. Yes, this is really Kipp's liver. So why do I have a pic of my liver. Well, a couple of years ago I almost died when my appendix ballooned to the size of a "bratwurst". I ended up having it removed but then started to experience severe pain in my lower abdominal area about six months later.

After numerous tests and people thinking I was nuts, I proceeded with an exploratory surgery. Turns out I am highly susceptible to adhesions. They found one large band from my abdomen wall to my intestine. It was removed and the pain went away.

However, they are back, just not as bad. I can live with this pain. Maybe that is why I enjoy boozen so much. Anyway. This picture was taken during the second surgery. My surgeon boasted on how healthy my organs are. Can you believe that???

We finished our sixtel of Tröegs Amber (1/6 keg) after one week of admirable service. We now have a nitrogenated version of Appalachian Brewing's Susquehanna Stout in a 1/2 keg just waiting for the "beer gas" - the blend of 75% nitrogen and 25% carbon dioxide. Getting the nitrogenated keg was a special order from the brewery at no extra price.

I finished the wall behind the kegerator and have it set-up with a Guinness faucet. All talk, no action until I get the nitrogen tank tomorrow to fill with beer gas.

I got my Guinness-branded faucet on ebay. I also got the 20 CF nitrogen tank for under $70 shipped through ebay member gtsgas. I got the premium nitrogen regulator through micromatic.com.

You should be able to get the mixed gas from Airgas or any other commercial gas retailer.

I started out with a local stout because Guinness is $162 for 1/2 keg while the local stout is $94 and because SWMBO likes ABC's Susquehanna Stout. We will eventually tap a Guinness but the system works for any nitrogenated stout.

Everything is working and I have the pressure set at 30 since my setup is a short run direct draw system.

Ok, back to the art of pouring a stout...

Miller lite tonight....as usual....after a day of mowing, weeding and trimming our 10 acres...sunburnt...ahhhh....the beer is 33 degrees....

used to be a HNS field tech and the first time i have ever worked with this dish but got it limping along now will finish up tomorrow.

How low have you gone without freezing the beer??? I am at 33 as well. I would like to go to 31 if I can get away with it.

FRUSTRATION! :mad:

My hush box is 108 degrees and I've been scratching my head for a week now trying to figure out why every time I watch the G90's I have to touch up convergence. Schit, it drifts WHILE watching a movie!

After talking to Art and his keen advice to go buy a thermometer to see what the temps in my hush box are, I have been woken up to reality. Of course though, my airflow design is drywalled and painted at this point so now I have to design around that design and fix the problem before I have two BIG ASS BOAT ANCHORS on my ceiling. :mad: :(

The good news though? I'm going upstairs to fix up a nice Maker's Mark Manhatton. I'm going to be SO BUZZED when I go to bed tonight. Maybe I should hit Club 390 before I call it quits for a nice lap dance. :p :D ;)

I used to have a regular refridgerator and I had it to where the beer line would freeze on me and I'd have to stand there and hold on to the beer line so the heat from my hand would free it up. Then it would spit out ice like a beer turd until the flow arrived. Sounded like pellets hitting the glass :) Your beer line is the telling tale on when you have the fridge too cold! I don't think you can go too far below 30 degrees before the line freezes.

I have the in line fan pulling air through the front and into the cold air return. The thermostat is set to turn the fan on at 80 degrees. As soon as it does the hush box and room are the same with in about three minutes so around 72 degree usually.

You get to warm up with those bad boys quick!

Arli and I installed fans in the box last night to "push" air into the exhaust. It helped a lot! Now the temps in the back where the hot air is blown out of the twins stay in the 90's. The rest of the hush box stays in the 80s.

Convergence is now stable but the only drawback is I have to wait about 45 minutes warm up time until it's dialed in because of the hotter temps.

No big deal and am not using 100ire warm up either. Just putting on cable and letting it snap in. Working out great.

Damn what an amazing setup!
