I am glad you enjoy the thread. Explain to your wife that on average, each beer will cost you about $0.33 vs. $0.70 for bottles. So the more you drink, the more you save. I figure after the 10th keg, my kegerator was paid for and now I am almost drinking for free. Sam's club has the kegerators for around $480.00.

Good deal. This was the one drawback about the kegerator. I used to keep a couple of cases of beer on hand but it just was not the same. I added the back up refrigerator in the garage with a spare keg and it only takes a few minutes to swap out. Happy boozen!!!

Just arrived back from Lake Geneva WI. Drinking ML in the HT. Boy, that 20" TV at the lodge was sure small. Did some metal detecting while I was out there. Just found some change.

Speaking of "hot" ;) it's at least 104 outside right now and I have no idea of ambient room temp (even with AC and fans, it's crazy warm), my monitor blew out the other day, the NAD L73 I'm borrowing to troubleshoot is only staying on 5 from the usual 20 minutes (overheat issue), I'm still wearing last night's jammies and almost every stray cat in our area is in our house right now sleeping in the "cool" spots. :D

What kinds of things do you like? September can be a mud-month up at the moutain resorts, but can make for a nice day trip. Denver has some good night-life (but I have been out of the loop for a long time). Boulder and Denver have some great restaraunts. Rocky Mountain National Park is a nice day-trip, if you are into nature. You can check out Red Rocks and go on a tour of Coors in Golden. Boulder and Denver have a lot of good micro breweries.

Tell me the kinds thing you like to do and I'll throw in more ideas. I forget... when is the show?

I am happily married, Scott is single. The Coors brewery sounds good since we both are boozers. We are just two regular guys.

Coming back from Ruth's to my hotel last year we passed a street which had club after club. Lots of fun spilling out into the street etc. Mark goes skiing a lot out there you might ask him about the night life.

About to fire up the stack for a movie. This weekend is the last time I will use it before it comes down next week. Angela just made a pitcher of strawberry Margaritas. You can jusat drink and drink these. :o

What part of Cali are you from? Back in my truck driver days, I used to have a run from Harrisburg Penni to Sacramento. My most fond memories of the beauty of this country especially when going into the west coast are from this time. :)

That's actually a really good question. I have a home setup, a studio setup and a public screening installation and need to inventory soon (since I've been swapping things around). The pic is at the microcinema/festival location. The screen is a 10ft 4:3 Da-Lite retractable matte white and I don't remember the gain right now (I just checked and it's 1.1). The current PJ is a Panasonic LB10VU but the screen pic is an overlay since the real shot washed out with my camera and it was taken with some of the auditorium lights on.

I figured it was an overlay because of the crispness. Do you have any HD DVD or Blu Ray on your set up? My setup consists of a 50" Pioneer plasma. No front projector in my set up. Maybe one day when I upgrade my house ;)

We run mostly indie titles so no HDM (yet). At home we have an older Panasonic PDP (42" commercial model 4UY), a few DVD players (we mostly use a Yamaha S-1200, old, but still really good) and an old Voom STB (Moto DSR-550) for HD OTA.

Our ceiling is hecka low (small house) and even the portable screen is too big, but whenever I need to quick check the PJs after cleaning (we also have a backup) I use a doubled up white sheet.

Oh yeah- current drink is K & V (gotta keep this topical or Kipp's gonna bust on me ;) )

That is sweet. I enjoy indie films too but I love my HD DVD. I would love a FP but I would have to have a dedicated room for it. I am not as hardcore as some with the FP in the living room. I enjoy my living room setup immensely.

I have yet to try that. Good stuff? Its funny, everyone drinks boxed wine but 99% will not admit to it. I actually mix Franzia white grenach (sp?) and Sprite over ice. It makes for a great spritzer.

Kipp, have you ever tried the classic Mt. Dew and Jack daniels mix? Since you are speaking of mixed drinks w/soda's...if you havent you have to at least try it. You'd think it'd be gross, but it isnt that bad.

Kipp, if you enjoy the Australian 2004 Black Opal, more power to you. I like vintage Caymus, Dominus, Silver Oak; the $100.00 + a bottle stuff. For champagne, we had the 1999 Dom Perignon for New Years. Pricy, but good. On a cold night, the company is certainly more important than the wine! Stay warm, amigo.

This darn wine is just sick as far as Angela and I are concerned. We had more than a dozen wines given to us as gifts at my last meet (thanks all !:))and we went through every one. Many of these were also Pinot Noires and we simply can't find one with a flavor that comes close to Firesteed. It isn't even expensive.We buy the darn stuff by the case. I'm working to see if my liver can grow up someday and be like yours.;):D

The throne of my most enjoyed liquor has been taken from the long standing Flor de Caña Centenario 12 year Rum. Now that seat has been taken by Dewar's Special Reserve 12 year old Scotch Whiskey: A truly smooth and wonderfully flavored sipping liquor. The price is surprisingly reasonable as well.

Tonight I am just drinking plain old Coca-Cola on the rocks. Just can't be beat sometimes.

To say that I'm a creature of habit would be a gross understatement. I tried four different wines (all pinot noirs ,my favorite) and ended up going back to what has become my favorite. Holy cow, that stuff tastes great!

Enjoying a nice Margarita. I learn this recipe while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
There is a town an hour north of Cabo is called Todos Santos (All Saints) and there is where Hotel California is located... Anyways the bartender was telling me the story about the local margaritas, and he told me about the Eagles song and the part that says: " Pink Champagne on ice". Well that would be.

1 part of Cointreau (Orange liquor)
1 part of Damiana (local liquor made out of a bush, supposedly an afrodisiac)
