View Full Version : X1 DIY Mount
nathan_h 03-12-06, 10:08 PM Looks like my new setup is going to require that I table mount my projectors for a while. Anyone know if there is a "used market" for a for one of mandarax's Z-2 mounts? I'm thinking that a general auction/for sale site might be too un-specific (in that people would think "mandarax who?" :-).
Hi Robert,
I bought your mount for my 4805 almost 2 years ago and love it. I am now considering an upgrade to one of the new 720p projectors. Is there a good chance that you will be selling a replacement plate for either the optoma hd72 or the infocus in76. Thanks for your time, hope all is well.
DigitalFodder 05-07-06, 08:41 AM Hi there, just wondering if your wall mounts for said (SP 4805)projector are still available to buy from you as im interested in one at the momment. If they are, at what price?
Much Thanks

About two years ago I bought one of your 4805 mounts, they are great. Recently I moved but I have misplaced the three screws that attach to the projector and 1 screw(?) that is used to adjust the angle of the projector, its the screw that connects the two arms that adjust.
Do you have them, i would to purchase those parts.

I can tell you the screws that mount to the projector (at least on the X1) are M4 size.
Hiroshima 07-01-06, 12:01 AM I purchased an X1 mount from you a long time ago and just upgraded to an Infocus IN72. It is a larger unit and would like to know if you have a longer rod and different plate avaliable to wall mount this projector. If you could let me know I would greatly appreciate it.
You PM box is full so if you could e-mail or pm me that would be perfect!

Any possibility for an Optoma HD70 mount or a new mounting plate for one? I've got your X1 mount and I'm looking to finally upgrade from the X1.
I think there's going to be a lot of us going from X1 to HD70...finally, a cheap 720p DLP...
Thanks!
Looks to me like Mandarax hasn't been around since Jan. 10, 2006. Maybe he has been pm'ing you folks, I'm not sure.
Hope you're doing alright Mandarax.
mandarax 10-12-06, 01:13 PM Heh ... Besides some broken bones I am doing great. Someone told me that soccer wasnt a contact sport..
I still have some of the SP4805 mounts left. I am pondering about continuing with the production of more of these mounts at the moment. I just can't produce them without a fairly hefty price increase due to the exchange fluctuation predominately. Most people won't understand a price hike.
With any projector if there is enough people that go to an alternate projector I can get some of the new plates made up if there is an interest. The cnc machined arms are the costliest part of the mount not the plates. As some are aware I was only doing these as a favor to predominately AVS members and my main business is with the sale of AV gear.
I am extremely busy with other business items but will start looking back in here occasionally and always answer my email. If you need parts or mods please email me robert@digital-visions.ca
Cheers
Robert
Nice to see you are back Robert - are you not calling Hooterville home anymore?
mandarax 10-24-06, 10:37 AM Bent ... people got disappointed whey they didnt see uncle joe at the shootouts
garfield00 01-01-07, 11:22 PM Robert, After reading all the other members rave about the mount from you, I'm definitely interested in a wall mount for SP4805. I can't go ceiling mount, and will have to do a back wall mount. Can you or someone please let me know how many inches would the lens be once I attach it to the mount? The SP4805 itself is 12", add 2" as room for cables at the back and that makes it 14". how many more inches does the mount add or would it be covered in the above 14" - my room is kinda small (10'x11' with 8' ceiling height).
Thanx much for your help folks
garfield00 01-18-07, 12:15 PM Update - got the mount in time, thanx to Robert for answering all questions, and for timely delivery. This is a ver nice mount, and leaves you with no questions on its strength or looks.
Thanx Robert!!

Touchdown 05-04-07, 09:10 AM Curious if anyone has modified this mount at all to fit a new projector?
I just upgraded to an IN72 and would like to continue to use this mount, but trying to figure out a way to attach this plate to it...any thoughts?
UPDATE: For future reference, in case anyboyd is wondering I was able to successfully modify this mount to fit the IN72. I simply drilled some holes that matched the holes in the plate.
