How's that? I didn't think you could have DD in a WMV file?

My goal is TS/MPG --> WMVHD (VC1) but I have not found a method that works yet.

you can put WMV9 into an AVI container with virtualdub, you just need to install the VFW WMV9 codec from microsoft.

and since an AVI can also have AC3 audio, that's your solution.

don't know about authoring an HD-DVD with that, but if all you want is something with WMV video and AC3 audio just put them together as an avi with virtualdub.

"....The Elecard CODECs were the missing piece of the puzzle, and forcing the Intervideo audio CODEC (already had WinDVD installed) allowed keeping Dolby 5.1 in the WMV file (versus having to fold it down to 2-channel stereo).

John - How exactly are you doing this? I was under the impression that WMV could not contain DD5.1 - they it can contain only WMA ? Are you converting DD5.1 to WMA5.1? If there is a way to keep DD5.1 in WMV, can you please post details (screenshots would be also be nice). Thanks.
