Lots of mis-labeled DVD floating about in random countries. When guys waste money on The-Next-Big-Thing-Today, after well deserved ridicule, sometimes it can be fun; sort of like taking the labels off all the cans in the pantry.

Assuming you're talking about Lost --
Just use common sense here...they are still probably shooting episodes for the May finale. If they're not shooting, they're likely in post-production.
Now ask yourself.... how can someone get a complete 2nd season of something that doesn't exist?
I just remembered a conversation with a fellow employee approx 4 years ago. We got to talking about CBS's Survivor and I gave him my thoughts on the show.
I thought/think it's fakey and kinda overly dramatic. "What they should do" I told him, "is to really strand the contestants on a remote island, wire up said island with cameras in different locations. Didn't really matter if they knew where the cams were located as long as they couldn't reach them or turn 'em off". A recording crew would not be on the island at all. Let's see who actually survives after about 3 weeks.
Little did I know that Dharma was listening to my idea back then. Heck, that employee might've worked for them....I haven't seen him in four years.
Quinocampa 04-23-06, 11:24 PM I just remembered a conversation with a fellow employee approx 4 years ago. We got to talking about CBS's Survivor and I gave him my thoughts on the show.
Survivor was groundbreaking and inspired the next 7 years of television, a trend that has yet to die. Lost is unique in many ways, and has captured accolades. Is Lost great enough to inspire new shows? Prison Break added back stories. What about hush-hush plots and mystery combined with ensemble casts in exotic locations? Can Lost go the distance as well as reinvent television?
Survivor, for me at least, jumped the shark twice in the second season. First was when a "wild" piglet suddenly appeared in camp, and they caught it for dinner. The second was when, left without a fire due to carelessness and rain, they went on a walkabout and stumbled across a burning fallen tree. Let's hope Lost can avoid a deus ex machina on that scale, while engaging us long enough to keep the production cash flowing to the end of the story.
telemike 04-24-06, 09:10 AM A. When will the Flight 815 survivors take over the medical hatch and use it.

CANNON-FODDER 04-24-06, 12:13 PM When will the Flight 815 survivors take over the medical hatch and use it.Why would they want to?
Space - If there are not 48 rooms we begin the have/have-nots.
Comfort - Stuffy probably moldy concrete bunker vs. fresh air? * They have been out there 40+ days, living in a building may not appeal again just yet.
Security - Nobody is really coming after the group anymore.
Weather - The Swan is apparently closer and could probably shelter all in a storm.
Assholitis - I guess if there are factions they could split up and live in there.

* Air-conditioning is overrated in the tropics, feels better to acclimatize. I only used A/C for female visitors in Panama.

D. There must be more to the hatch the Tailies found.....they just didn't find it.
Taking over the medical hatch depends on its usefulness. It is unfurnished and unequipped, unlike The Swan, is further into the jungle, and may attract the attention of Others. I don't believe it offers anything to them, other than additional shelter.
I would guess that Locke will talk about the map when he remembers more of it, and has more to offer. I think it will lead to another expedition.
Pushing the button either stops or starts something. It is likely a device interacting with an electromagnetic source. Its purpose indeed a mystery.
The Arrow doesn't necessarily have to be more than what it seemed, which was protected storage. The bunkers are simply concrete in-ground rooms. Their function depends on how they're equipped. The Swan was meant to be lived in, and is equipped as such.
I'm fairly confident more bunker exploring will occur before the season ends.
Xesdeeni 04-24-06, 12:45 PM That doesn't look like shrapnel; definitely looks "under control" like it was dive bombing the engine. If the writers and production artists put that in waaaay back in the pilot, I've got a new level of respect for them.I thought it was a falling piece of the aircraft that happened to be near the engine when it exploded, and the force of the explosion shot it back up into the sky.

A. When will the Flight 815 survivors take over the medical hatch and use it.
They should at least send a couple people over there to explore the place but then they aren't even doing that in their own hatch. I guess the medical hatch doesn't have a good enough book and album collection.

A. Why would they? There's nothing in there. It was cleaned out and it's way in the jungle.
B. Just wait for the episode "?", Locke will tell at least Eko.
C. We don't know yet. It's been guessed that it's a generator powering up, possibly for the magnetic stuff.
D. Possibly, although it seemed pretty limited to just that room with the stuff they found.
They should at least send a couple people over there to explore the place but then they aren't even doing that in their own hatch. I guess the medical hatch doesn't have a good enough book and album collection.
Not many people know about the medical hatch. Only Claire, Kate and Jack know about it, and Jack only knew about it last week, and it seems Kate and Claire were mum about their find till then.
Now that Jack knows about it, he'll probably check it out himself to look for medical supplies. Did Kate even mention that the hatch appeared to be a medical facility?

ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson told TV Guide he's looking at running original episodes of Lost over consecutive weeks without repeats - an answer to constant fan gripes. "I like the idea of people knowing that Lost is on and is going to be on in originals for a long period, then have it take a break and put something else in there," he says. "Whether that's a January through May run or a big installment in the fall and another post-January, I'm not sure yet. But we're definitely considering it."
Can Lost go the distance as well as reinvent television? Dunno, but perhaps it could inspire Survivor to be (really) real.
Just what we need, another vehicle to feed the addiction...I predicted several pages back that Lost would go interactive, but I didn't see a videogame coming.

The only redeeming value in the clip shows is we learn from the producers what is and what isn't relevant.
Considering they had at least 15 days left of shooting as of April 17th, don't expect the last episodes to have the American cast you've come to know and love. :)
You haven't heard? To keep the show on budget, the final episodes are going to be animated, probably in Korea.

With Dharma being a term from Eastern religion and Dharma wheels being seen in different images, along with the discussions of faith, fate, and synchronicity, what is the likelihood that the show is following psycho-spiritual path, rather than a sci-fi one? We continually focus on the science, but not as much on the mysticism.

This is great news to hear from the network side though. It sounds like they are actually considering it seriously. And talking about maybe just doing it as two blocks or even straight through in one shot is even better!

Spongebob Squarepants? I don't completely mean that in jest. Kids have this inate ability to watch the same thing over and over again, like rdwalt's daughter with Chicken Little. Kids' shows then wouldn't be hurt much. I still laugh at the same 50 episodes of Beavis and Butthead. Irrelevant, I know...

It is, in fact, registered to ABC.
Quinocampa 04-26-06, 12:14 PM The slant on tonight's episode is how the faith of various members has been tested. Do you think this is ABC's encompassing theme, or the producers'? With this looking back concept, the standard is to tie the flashbacks together with a theme. In many of the sitcom versions, a member or two of the original cast sits in the living room reminiscing for a few moments. When Lost recaps, there has been no new footage, and there is an unseen narrator. I just wonder whether or not the faith testing theme is at all relevant, or just one compiler's winning idea of how to tie together the footage.
And who will watch? It would be interesting to get a semi-official slant on properly interpreting what we've seen.
Quinocampa 04-26-06, 12:16 PM I have seen the official ABC summary tag for the next new episode, entitled "?". Is it fair game to discuss? It ties in to what we saw in the latest preview, and I'd like to survey everyone's take.

I've seen the summary written a few different ways, and one was more sensational than the others. I'm gonna let it slide for the moment. What I find more interesting is the different outlets for information. You would think ABC's main website would have the most and the most valid information, but that isn't true. I watched a preview of an upcoming episode that came from some channel called "CTV" that was completely different than the "official" ABC preview we've seen. That preview played like it was captured from broadcast, not something that some insider editor leaked to a neighbor. And it was spoilerish. There is another ABC-affiliated website, ABCMEDIANET.com, referenced by thetailsection.com, and it had different information than the main ABC website. Why have two? Why offer different information? Television and the web are huge, I guess that's the point. As a consumer of those outlets, two people on the same continent can have wildly different experiences. Kinda cool, I guess. That's what makes forums fun.
Quinocampa 04-26-06, 11:51 PM I thought the narration was weak tonight. I think the faith angle was thin, or at least thinly delivered. In the events shown, I didn't always see faith being tested, or anchoring the scenes. So whatever, some hack editors threw together the commentary, there was nothing new. However...it was not all a waste. I picked up on things I'd forgotten or overlooked, two in particular.
First, did I get this right? There were NINE children taken from the tailies' camp? My wife says no, nine people, not all children, but I was positive I heard Ana Lucia say children at two different times. Wow, I'd focused only on the couple kids she talked to. I thought it was only two kids. Nine! That's alot!
Second, good ol' Henry Gale. When he fell down from the net, he took off running, but Danielle shot him with her crossbow. Most certainly, he didn't want to be shot with a crossbow! He had no idea whether they would chase him or not, and no one but Danielle made a move. Based on that scene alone, I conclude that he didn't want to be captured. Next, when Sayid (Ana Lucia?) threatened him with the gun, he was sincerely scared. And of course, he had no idea whether he was about to be shot. But what he said! He said, "I am not a bad person!" He's got a gun on him, a good chance of being shot, and he says that. Good people make the list. Bad people get killed. This sense of good and bad people seems to be very strong amongst The Others. I think it is possible that Henry has spent time with The Others, but wasn't an original Other --their number has grown and changed over time. Henry decided he needed to leave, but got caught over here. Finally, he sincerely did not want Locke to get hurt under the blast door. He was shouting for John not to crawl under to be protective. I don't buy that Henry is pure evil. His story is complex though, for sure.
So does this count as one of the original 22 or 24 for the season?
Lame.

DeathRay 04-27-06, 09:12 AM The narration in last night's re-cap episode was super cheesey. If I had watched for the first time to see what this show was all about I probably wouldn't tune in again. It was even worse than the good ol' days of alan thicke and kirk cameron sitting on the living room couch reminiscing about all the antics mike and boner got into over the last few weeks.
Quinocampa 04-27-06, 10:16 AM But what about that evil smile when Locke is asking if he actually pushed the button or not...
What about it? "Evil smile" is pretty subjective. One guy sees a smirk, a girl reads fear, you see evil. The fact remains that IF neglecting the counter leads to disaster, that fate is shared by Henry, Locke, and everyone else. He would have to be truly demented to believe that any moral difference between Locke triggering an outcome and him doing it is as significant as suffering the outcome. On the other hand, lets say he has some mind game motive. Allowing Locke to lose his legs is an entirely different game. Henry has taken a life-threatening crossbow thru the torso! Had a loaded gun in his face, and also got a helluva beating from Sayid. That's a great deal to subject yourself to in the name of mind games, don't you think? Henry has a reason for being on the island, and for lying about his identity. He is also apparently "some kind of Other". As I said earlier though, Others are simply people not from the plane crash, especially when described as "some kind of".

This kind of scheduling and recap aren't anything new. Why must Lost be held to a higher standard? Don't forget, ultimately you are the product -- a demographic -- sold to the customer -- advertisers -- by the network, whose job is to attract viewer hours that they can sell. Lost is a great show, but there is no higher calling. If there were no advertising dollars, you'd not even see it put on instead of Shakespeare in the Park by your local thespian society.
...by your local thespian society.
Not that there's anything wrong with that!
auburn97 04-27-06, 11:47 AM Another thing jumped out at me-
In the beginning of the recap, they showed Anna Lucia and Ecko rescuing and reviving the brother and sister that were later taken. The little girl says "Where's my mommy?" or something to that effect.
Perhaps mommy is one of the red-shirts from the middle section, and we'll see something from her soon. But, perhaps she's dead and I just don't recall, but the editors made a point of putting the little girl's line in there.
Windom Earle 04-27-06, 12:01 PM I believe the girl mentioned she was meeting her mother in Los Angeles.
Quinocampa 04-27-06, 12:14 PM You know, I was thinking something similar. Since my wife told me the plot to The Stand, I have been biased to looking for that sort... Maybe you are right he could be an [neo?]-other who is now [in the loop] in regard to the good/evil thing or maybe he just [drank the Kool-Aid]. It could be that this was not a Dharma planned psych-play, but at the very least [Henry] is enjoying all the violins he gets to play...
Let's look at a few things Henry had to say:
"They'll never give you Walt" -- probably true. Obviously they have an agenda, and it doesn't include making amends.
Referring to Zeke, "He's nobody!" -- probably true. We saw him talking to Ethan about some higher level leader, and Zeke certainly seemed subservient. Further, Henry seemed to be as concerned about Mr. Big Shot as Zeke was.
"I'm not a bad person!" -- fearful of being shot, resorts to defending his character, which under stress seemed to him most logically to be the trait under judgement.
Henry basically dismisses the significance of his assumption of the real Henry Gale's identity. In essence, he implies that who he was is no longer material to who he has been lately. This also implies that he's Henry Gale not only to our people, but to The Others as well.
It doesn't have to be true that the group we think of as The Others always had the same head count, that they were always the same people functioning on this island. If the flight could crash there, if Danielle's group could crash there, it is possible that people could have arrived numerous times. In Henry's case, perhaps he ingratiated himself into The Others, filled a role, learned the hierarchy and general function, and lived with them. He gets some wild hair to leave them and goes on a walkabout. That's when he gets trapped by Danielle. He has knowledge of Dharma, or Widmore as it may become, but he's loyal only to himself. He must certainly protect himself in custody, use his wits and what strength he has. He is also motivated not to disclose what he knows, possibly out of fear. He's not really doing much though. He drops a few manipulative words about Jack and John, acts meek, is careful. What is the evil that he is perpetrating?
Quinocampa 04-27-06, 12:22 PM Not that there's anything wrong with that!
Jon Lovitz, "I'm an AC-TOOORRR!"
Quinocampa 04-27-06, 12:23 PM Another thing jumped out at me-

Because that's precisely what a little girl would say.

Henry saying "I'm not a bad person" also ties in with Goodwin saying "We're not bad people."
NetworkTV 04-27-06, 01:10 PM First, did I get this right? There were NINE children taken from the tailies' camp? My wife says no, nine people, not all children, but I was positive I heard Ana Lucia say children at two different times. Wow, I'd focused only on the couple kids she talked to. I thought it was only two kids. Nine! That's alot!
No, 9 people total, adults and children. The episode had a lot of stuff that was cut out of the recap that put it all in perspective. A.L. was just more upset over the children being taken and that was one thing she used to justify her actions later.

While still on board, I would like it stated in the guides that it is a recap or repeat instead of a new show. The funny thing is they recap the whole season. Why not just recap since the last recap? Since it has been brought up by ABC, they could do three eight episode blocks. They could do a recap after each block. Then they could show the previous recap before the new block. People could choose to watch the recap immediately after a completed block or right before a new block.

It wasn't just this show. ABC most popular dramas all recently had clip shows.
The last Greys Anatomy and Desperate Housewives were all recaps also.
I agree it sucks but to quit watching the show especially since there are just 4 or 5 episodes left in the season but its your choice...

The biggest mystery on Lost to me is: Why don't they fix the artifacts on the opening LOST title?
JJ said at the Paley Festival last year that he made that title himself on his Mac laptop. It was supposed to be just temporary. Funny, that.
Anyway, I think the low-budget look is kinda charming :)Is it just me or have I seen an artifact free LOST logo the last couple weeks now?

I am not sure if he is working toward a purpose or just because it tickles him. Not sure I can call good/evil sides either. Maybe the others really are the good ones, maybe not. The story could twist rapidly and all his manipulation could still be for a purpose (albeit ends/means...).
Caveat: Just in the speculation for the fun of speculation. I fully entertain some of the more [intricate] ideas like that it could all be therapy (+/-antneye's sense) sometimes just because it helps with suspense, surprise, wonder, etc. at major/minor revelations vice the procedurals when I know all 5 W's by the 34 minute mark most times.

That's hilarious. I was looking last night an didn't see any but then it was a new logo that said 'speical episode' or something underneath.
Something I noticed last night that I didn't before. When the blast door came down on Locke and he was looking at the map - you couldn't see the very top of the map because the door wasn't all the way down. The top of the map released by ET was also missing. More mystery to be revealed later.. or not. :p
I also had a revelation about the other Others but I forgot what it was. :p
Scott Tucker 04-27-06, 02:26 PM This kind of scheduling and recap aren't anything new.
Might not be anything new, but why the need to have so many reruns and recaps? I'm done with it. I'll stick to shows like 24 that have a new episode every week. I'll wait for the DVD to catch up on Lost.
Scott
That is not what mine said. It said new show.
EricgloFWIW, that post was not particularly directed at you :).
Yes, it was designated as a new (N) show because it was a newly edited, previously unaired recap show. Actually reading all the various program descriptions I saw however clearly pointed out that it was a recap ep that was to focus on a couple different aspects of the island life (I do agree that it fell pretty short of that goal however). Anyway, it's not counted as one of the "original" new ep for the season at any rate.
I thought the voice over was a bit out of character for the show too. It reminded me of the voiceover treatment from Desperate Housewives.
ron

I liked the recap because it enables the producers to highlight certain things that might have been overlooked before...
Like I am now pretty sure it really is Jin's baby Sun is carrying and it wans't conceived off the island. At one point Jin and Sun come out of a tent looking to have gotten their groove on and Hurly gives Jin the thumbs up and the narrator says something about a 'new beginning'.
optivity 04-27-06, 02:56 PM Basically another repeat last night, watched it for about 5 min.,  switched to the DVR copy of "Bones." :)
sandiegojoe 04-27-06, 03:00 PM Man, I watched for 5 mins and turned it off. Pretty lame, especially for fans of the show who actually watch every week. I guess if you'd missed a bunch of episodes, it'd come in handy.
I actually watched the american idol results show with my wife instead
Still, everytime I get sick of this show and forget that it's even coming on my tivo, I see it push play, and get hooked again.
Windom Earle 04-27-06, 03:55 PM So does this count as one of the original 22 or 24 for the season?
Lame.
It would appear the recap does not count toward the 24 episodes this season. There have been 19 episodes so far and the remaining five will air over the next four Wednesdays (with episodes 23 and 24 airing on May 24).

Yep, on network TV on Wednesday night, Lost is the only thing good on. American Idol isn't worth my time.
My week goes like:
Monday - Prison Break, 24
Tuesday - House (still haven't found anything great on before it)
Wednesday - Lost, Invasion, and currently Alias (although I believe it's going back to Monday soon or at least the finale is supposed to be on Monday).
Thursday - My Name is Earl, The Office
Friday - Don't really watch any network TV on Friday, this day belongs to SciFi when there's new episodes on. Don't really like the Dr. Who stuff on now though.
Saturday - Usually the ABC movie of the week.
Sunday - Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and since War at Home comes in between Simpsons and Family Guy, I watch that too.

I'd watch Scrubs, but unfortunately it comes on the same time as House (at least new episodes) and House is just too damn good to miss. I don't have any way to record two HD streams at once (don't have a DVR, but I do have a single HDTV tuner in my computer which records OTA stuff), but I could record Scrubs in SD on my HTPC (got a PVR-250 in addition to the HDTV tuner), but I think I've become too picky since if I know a show is in HD, I have to watch it that way. Maybe I should invest in another tuner :p

Yes, Scrubs is one the last 4 scripted primetime network shows still only in SD, and the other 3 are all ending this year (7th Heaven, Charmed, and That 70's Show.)

Too much TV here as well. I LOVE my DVR
Mon: Prison Break, Deal or No Deal, (Monday Night Football)
Tues: According to Jim, Rodney, American Idol, House
Wed: Lost, Invasion, American Idol, Deal or No Deal
Thur: Smallville, Commander in Chief, My Name is Earl, (College Football)

Sat: movies, football, baseball, syndicated recordings
Sun: football, baseball, movies, syndicated recordings
I also record Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, Cheers, and Friends episodes to watch. And I average 3 movies a week at least.
Yes, I am a very sad person. I get out more this time of year to play softball, golf, and to do other forms of exercise. But during the winter I hibernate in my basement in front of the PJ screen (my wife calls it "The Cave") :D

ridgefamus 04-29-06, 12:21 AM Along with Others here (oops, that shouldn't have been a capital "O"), I think the recap episode we just witnessed was intended for us frequent viewers only. They certainly didn't intend this to be a catch-up ep for anyone else. There were too many holes in the plot lines. E.g.,
* there was no rationale for the venom Sayid displayed toward [Henry] which we all know was caused by Shannon's death - an integral pathos Sayid endured which was not given justice.
* the scene with Locke and Rose where Rose reminded him that the recuperation of his wounds would not take as long as Jack advised. Replaying that scene was meaningless unless you knew about Locke's prior disability and Rose's health issues. Neither of those were covered in this recap.
* Faith (if that was the theme) - where was any tribute given to Mr. Eko's reformation.
* Charlie's addiction problem.
To make this a worthwhile substitute for an off week thru replays of past episodes, why not focus on one or another of the meaningful storylines rather than giving fleeting glimpses non-important issues like Libby trying on a new top.
OK, I'm done - my radio station has just played "Comfortably Numb" - fittingly.

Yeah, I was like "What the hell? Was Libby trying on the top so important?" I was wondering why they didn't show any of Claire remembering Ethan since some of the stuff in there was very integral to the story. They could have chosen a lot better on what they selected.

kmj0577 05-01-06, 03:02 PM so....is it finally new? finally? this better be one helluva an episode to start to conclude this season...this breaks are ridiculous
Yes, finally, and I believe they're new each week until the finale :D
michaelk 05-01-06, 03:24 PM JJ Abrams (sp?) was on Howard Stern this morning promoting Mission Impossible 3. I didn’t catch it all but they asked a bunch of questions about Lost. I’ll try to catch the replay later on to see what I may have missed.
They asked if he had an end plan- he said for sure that he and about 3 other people know the ending. (they asked if a kid was dying with cancer, had 3 months to live and went to make-a-wish wanting the answer if JJ would tell the kid the end- he at first said yes then backtracked and said the kid would need to be trustworthy and even then he would hesitate because things change (see other comments below) and he didn’t want things to change and then he would be known as the guy that lied to the dying kid.) He said something like even all the writers don’t know the whole story (and also said there are very few writers). At one point I think he may have even said he didn’t even tell his wife the ending. (But he joked she always has better ideas than him- he said he might tell her “I’m going to do this in my show” thinking it’s the best idea in the whole world and she’ll say “why don’t you do that” and then her idea turns out to be better- so maybe in the end Mr.’s Abrams will be the one who decides what the hell has been going on-LOL)
He said he plans that there was MORE THAN ONE answer to all the questions- it wasn’t going to be someone just wakes up from a dream or comes out of a coma and bamno and that’s the one simple answer to how everything happened. Sounded like he is writing such that there are several realistic things going on that together are making all this bizarre world.
He said the roadmap does change over the course of the thing but the end point is fairly static- he gave the analogy about climbing a mountain- you want to get to the top but when you get half way up you see pathways that you never would have seen from the base camp. He also said time is an issue- it’s not like ABC said -OK you have one year, three years, or 5 years- so the plans need to stay fluid to fill the time allotted and that’s fluid- so I guess you can say at this point they are walking around the mountain in a spiral but as rating dry up they’ll start to make a bee-line straight to the top to move things along.
Then the best part- they asked about all the reruns and if he was happy about it. He said NO. He then jokingly busted on ABC and said they change the commercials and then call it a new episode. So if he has any power than the rumors that next year will have fewer interruptions seem to have some legs.
He even seemed deferential to making any spoilers. At one point one of the guys asked him- how are we supposed to believe that the hot blond finds hurley attractive? JJ didn’t blurt out –didn’t you see here in the funny farm with him?!?! But rather he said something like ‘didn’t you see the last episode’ sort of like he was deferential and didn’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hadn’t see it yet.
Very recognizable actor.
Au contraire monfraire... I did not recognize him but maybe because he was not wearing his disguise.

Ahh, I'll never forget his portrayal of "large man" in The Haunting or "unafraid miner" in Geronimo: An American Legend.
Actually, I first remember him from Conair. I remember seeing him in a couple of TV shows before Lost, also.
I worked in the VIP area at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway while in college, and he was just the type of mid-level celebrity that I enjoyed meeting because they would actually talk to you (all the bigtimers wouldn't waste time talking to a peon like me).
IrmoGamecoq 05-02-06, 04:28 PM If you have something better to talk about, or something Lost related that hasn't been mentioned a thousand times, feel free to share. ;) jk
That was all I could come up with. ;)
IrmoGamecoq 05-02-06, 04:30 PM As for "zeke," I do remember him from Con-Air, but a bigger role in a more current film was his moving version of "Roscoe P. Coltrane" in the recent Dukes of Hazzard remake. :)

You see someone as distinctive as he is in many bit roles, you don't need a major "reference" role. I had no idea of his name (something you need a major role for if you want to become "known") but I recognize him from his many smaller character parts.
I don't know the name of the guy that played Jaws in the Bond movies, but I'll recognize him instantly.
dmbatch 05-02-06, 04:49 PM Richard Kiel (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001423/)

Is it because TV's just that darned good, or because there's nothing better to do? While I enjoy a show here or there, so many other things are going on, or could be going on, or are more interesting. TV just seems to require the least amount of effort. I'm no Type A personality, but I think I'd rather slit my wrists than watch more than, say, 5-8 hours of broadcast TV a week. Not judging, just contrasting. Thankfully, with tonight's new episode, we won't have to debate the various merits for but a few more hours.

Dude! You'd don't need HD! Trust me... I never used to watch TV and then I got HD and now I watch 4 shows religiously - LOST, 24, Invasion and Commander in Chief. I've even been known to watch Desperate Housewives and American Idol just because they're in High Definition!
I'm afraid if you get HD this will be the last we see of you. :(

And do you think Libby is dead, or just injured/critical? I don't recall the previews showing for sure. She could be "critical" waiting to wake up and spill the truth any minute, which will add to the story, or, I suppose, she could be dead. (previews didn't show one way or the other, did they?)

When Hugo told Libby drinking might enable him to remember from where he knew her, she really grimaced. I was thinking that she was very aware of their hospital connection, and keeping it from him. Note that she didn't chime in when he said he'd been in the hospital. But then, bang. So much for that story line?
There was one single clue in the preview. Kate says "she's dead," rather than "they're dead." I'd guess one lives, one dies, and Ana looked like the dead one. What was Libby holding that could have softened the blow?
Paul Bigelow 05-03-06, 10:27 PM Was there a second shooter? Any grassy knolls?

He shot Libby twice, though not for sure dead. In the preview for the next ep, Michael was standing in the Henry Gale room with a body on the bed/slab. He looks different, from the time they found him. More crazy like. What an episode!!
I think the message to the cast of Lost is don't drink and drive! OR YOU DIE!!!!!!!
OMFG!!!!
It was like the Godfather:
Michael Corleone (Damn Lindelof): Michelle, Cynthia....I want you to be honest with me.Do you think I'd kill off my two new characters? Just admit what you did...were you driving drunk?
Michelle/Cynthia: yes Godfather..... We're sorry.
Michael Corleone: That's better....now off to the set, you have a special scene to film...WHACK!! WHACK WHACK!!
Beautiful!
The only complaint I have is that it's so obvious why those two were being killed off...the real world was intruding on the LOST world. Takes you outside the show.
I can't wait to see Hurley go Terminator on Michael when he finds out.

Rodriguez had to spend 5 days in jail. They wouldn't shitcan her for that! Same with Libby. They can take care of their personal responsibilities on their own time. It happens with celebrities and athletes all the time. I don't think it is fair to draw the conclusion that they were fired for getting drunk.

I didn't recognize the mother, but there have been so many faces since the pilot, it is easy to miss things. For instance, I had already forgotten that Ana Lucia killed someone. Speaking of that though, how did Henry know she killed someone???

I think that Henry was talking about her killing Goodwin.
mstahlkr 05-03-06, 11:46 PM Rodriguez had to spend 5 days in jail. They wouldn't shitcan her for that! Same with Libby. They can take care of their personal responsibilities on their own time. It happens with celebrities and athletes all the time. I don't think it is fair to draw the conclusion that they were fired for getting drunk.
Perhaps....but the title of the episode is kind of ironic....
"Two for the Road"
Yeah, I did that. What is that, other than wild animation -- a map of some kind? A spreading disease? Cells dividing?

I did finally get it, after reasoning that I was missing something. Thanks!
