I just cleaned mine up and that gave it some new life. Crap. I wanted a reason to upgrade to 720p and this thing just refuses to quit. I'm on about 2950 hours, and still kicking a nice picture. Still watching for a 720p deal though.

That's pretty good hours. What do you mean cleaned it up and it got better?

Holy smokes. It's been awhile. I have one of these tucked away in closet somewhere. See what you started, Tom? :D

Enjoy. Good enough for SD DVD!

I pulled the lamp and gently cleaned out some visible dust from the lamp on the cone. Also unscrewed the little glass window and cleaned the visible dust off of the inside. Also, vacuumed it out thoroughly. Might be my imagination, but the picture seemed to improve. The dust on the cone might have impacted the brightness a bit. I definitely could see some dust reflected on the screen which is gone now.

I got outbid on an HD7100 yesterday that I went for $685. Great deal. I also know of a guy selling an HD70 for about $400 (1300 hours on lamp).

Guitarman, what projector are you running now, still HD73 (just saw that thread)?
