Hello.

Does anyone have any recomendations for a FTA DVB receiver that is capable of HDTV reception?

It would also be a big plus if the receiver had a cam slot so that I could use it for subscription stuff.

And firewire would be cool too.

Thanks
Steve

If I remember correctly, the Integra 9** series might come close, not sure. Try www.digitalconnection.com

Wowa that thing is expensive. Maybe I'll just use a PCI DVB-S Tuner and a computer.

Also note this thread which is tracking FTA HD receivers.

If anyone comes across an FTA HD receiver with DVR, USALS support (and possibly dual tuners), please update this and/or the other thread.

Get the DVBWorld USB tuner for around $100.

It's free to air and nothing else.

I used the Twinhan, worked very well, though it doesn't have a CAM slot.

I found yet another thread on this same topic on another forum, which had some updates made to it recently:

Dreambox 8200s will be the most top of the line FTA receiver with HD functionality (among many other goodies) when it's released in the next 1 or 2 months.

Just off the phone with Panarex Electronics USA Sales, and confirmed that all those specs about PANSAT 7000HD are bogus. 7000HD does not exist, and event it is released in the future, it will not fit to those specs. Early next year a HD receiver will be released, and it will be a model without PVR. It seems that there is such an easy way to clear a rumor, just ask.

I sent an email to Pansat USA support...they told me an HD model will likely be out in mid March 2007. Currently, the Coolsat 8000HD is the only one available I believe for around $429 - $499US.....as for functionality with Charlie HD...thats in the air. I do know that some people have got theirs to work with "BEV HD".

I guess its too early to point to the 129 bird!

You do realize doing what you are talking about is illegal?
