This was one of the best episodes of Weeds in quite a while. The ending scene is a Top 10 all time Weeds scene. The looks on Andy's and Silas's faces were so funny! :) I was laughing out loud.

I must confess, I'm not sure what's being set up here for the finale. An awful lot of stuff was packed into those last couple of minutes...

You know, when this show hits, it's still wickedly funny. I think the "problem" people perceive with 'Weeds' in its twilight years is it doesn't seem to hit as often, kind of like an aging ballplayer. He can still punch it outta' the park now and then, but he also frequently strikes out. That whole scene at the Hamptons? Grand slam. :D

I'm not really feeling this show anymore. Like archi said, it can still be funny, but it isn't often enough. I'm also not a huge fan of Silas, or maybe it's the dude who plays Silas? Not sure which one it is...Shane just seems so much more interesting.

I am not sure what people are expecting from this show. This has been a very good season. The story has centered on the main characters (Nancy, silas, andy, shane) and has had a lot of funny moments. This is way better than the storylines in Mexico.

I think it's interesting that Nancy created what may turn out to be her biggest foe in her son. The way it's progressing he may out Nancy Nancy. He certainly knows all her tricks and thought processes. I'd like one more season to wrap it all up.

The show has not been renewed as of yet, so no one really knows its status. Mondays show as the season finale as it was advertised last week and two.weeks prior on spots and previews as such.

The last two episodes were so blah crazy that I dunno if they should continue.

I agree that they should let it end. To me, the current ending was written with that in mind, but allowing them to continue if renewed since they don't show the result of the shot. With the show losing steam (for many of us), I can live with the fade-to-black/shot and imagine my own ending.

I'm fairly certain this will be the last season and, like many here, I'm fine with that. The concept is pretty much mined out at this point. They can't leave us hanging with last season's finale's cliffhangers, and considering the continued popularity of the show, another season was warranted and probably inevitable.

I just hope they pull out all the stops and go for big laughs in their swan song rather than more business intrigue. As the old show business expression goes: always leave 'em laughing. When this show hits on all cylinders, it does that well.

EXCLUSIVE: I have learned that after lengthy negotiations, Netflix is finalizing a deal with Lionsgate TV for a 13-episode straight-to-series order to Orange Is The New Black, a comedy from Weeds creator Jenji Kohan. This marks the second original series for Netflix, which earlier this year gave a 26-episode straight-to-series pickup to MRC’s David Fincher/Kevin Spacey drama House Of Cards.

Kohan’s project falls under her rich overall deal with Lionsgate TV. Co-created and executive produced by Kohan and House co-executive producer Liz Friedman, it is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir Orange Is The New Black: My Year In a Women’s Prison and revolves around women in prison. The book chronicles nonprofit communications executive Kerman’s year-long stint at the minimum security correctional facility in Danbury, Conn., stemming from a conviction for her part in a drug smuggling and money-laundering scheme she got tangled up in 10 years earlier as a fresh college graduate.

Netflix is already in business with Lionsgate TV. In April, the streaming/DVD-by-mail giant signed an exclusive syndication deal with Lionsgate to stream up to seven seasons of the studio’s acclaimed AMC drama Mad Men. The pact paved the way for other syndication-type deals with Netflix, including the CW’s recent agreement that could fetch the network up to $1 billion. Netflix’s stock has taken a beating lately after some missteps, including the company’s controversial decision to raise the price of its combined streaming and DV- rental service by 60%, and a disappointing 3Q earnings report.

The upcoming eighth season of Weeds could be its last, Showtime Entertainment president David Nevins told reporters Thursday following his executive session at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour.

While discussions are under way with Weeds creator Jenji Kohan, the executive said "it's a real possibility" that Season 8 of the dramedy about drug dealing mother Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) and her family of law-breaking delinquents may be its last.

In the Sept. 26 Season 7 finale, which jumped ahead a few years, a sniper set their target on Nancy after she moved into a mansion/"compound" with her son, estranged sister, former brother-in-law, two sons and family friend Doug. The last image viewers saw was Nancy through the sniper's sights with a laser appearing on her forehead, the sound of a gunshot and a blackscreen.

Nevins said Kohan is considering a "couple different paths" that the season could go and is waiting on word from her about the direction of the show, which has picked up multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations during its seven-season run.

The future of the series -- which ranks as Showtime's highest-rated comedy series -- was in question for nearly two months before Showtime announced the eighth-season renewal, time Nevins said was spent negotiating a new license with distributor Lionsgate.

Last season averaged roughly 720,000 viewers, according to Nielsen.

Season 8 will premiere in the summer.

They need to wrap the show up, it was fun but there were a few weak seasons. Last year kind of redeemed it, but there isn't too much further they can go. The kids are grown, Nancy is getting a bit old to be dealing, and they have been involved with every sort of criminal.

I think they should've just ended it with the last season. That was a good ending.

Yeah, Nancy and her flock have just about overstayed their welcome, and I say that as a big fan. They've been terrific party guests, we've had a great time, but it's really time to call it a night. One more nightcap, just for old time's sake, and then it's sayonara.

Showtime Sets Premiere Dates For ‘Weeds’ & ‘Episodes’

The premium cable network announced today that the Season 8 premiere of Weeds and the second-season bow of Episodes are set for Sunday, July 1, 2012.

Weeds will feature 13 half-hour episodes and is in the 10 PM slot, while Episodes, starring current Golden Globe winner Matt LeBlanc, shot nine half-hour episodes and will follow at 10:30.
