How about PM your address and I will see what (about) it would cost to ship you a package and maybe we com come to some agreement to get a set shipped to you. So far I only have one of the disks but I think there are things in motion for me to get a complete set of these disks to start forwarding them on to others. As far as I know there is 26 of them, then you can forwarded them on to others in the UK.

Well although I have a complete D1-LFE-Demo.iso file it appears to be damaged as my image burning program says it appears to be damaged and when I play it it plays erratically and freezes while in the middle of the Ice Age video, so it appears that the torrents are not very reliable. So I will just wait to see if anyone will send them to me and we can just try the pay-it-forward method, seems like a wast to try the torrent and just to find out they are messed up after 5 days of downloading what a let down LOL

I can't get the link on the opening post to work now. I did in the past and it was a wonderful treat to try them out on my HT setup. The huge downside is they are SD and not HD, but it is a start.

It will be awhile before you'll start to see home brewed HD demos. Too much space on either hard drive or dvd/bd, stronger pcs needed to rip cut and burn (I'm not investing in one until mine conks out). And chances are, no menus.

so what's going on here? I see some new demo discs? I've been trying to make my own, and have been having audio problems and a couple of my clips have some interlacing problems. I have a set from 1-8 and 10 through 16 I can send you on DVD, just ask that you make at least one copy and send it to another who would request it. I have made 3 copies and sent to others. I am waiting for disk 9 and the rest and I will forward those on as well.

Yeah, the only one that was running when Swithey had to take his down, and was still there when squidboy ran his until he had to take it down, leaving mine the only one still running until you kindly and generously got your one going.

I thought it pretty disgusting when people ask for access, I ask them not to do more than one session at a time, and this clown comes along and shows total disregard of EVERYONE else, and hogs it all for themselves.

Sure, it hasn't got as fast a speed as it used to, but that's more the reason why people shouldn't abuse the privelege .

It's done. I sent it to Red5908 to beta test and upload to whoever has the means. This completes my last contribution to this project. Hopefully others will step forward to make these homemade demo discs as they are fun to have and the list of good demos isn't ending anytime soon. Long time member here and just finishing up the drywall in my HT. I can't believe I didn't see this thread before!! I absolutely LOVE the demo disc idea, VERY cool.

The torrent server master will need to download disc 27, make a torrent file, and then upload it.

The torrent has now started for D27, the .torrent file is available off my ftp server right now.


I've just noticed that I do not have the disk labels or disk standard covers for D26 online, so I've got to try and track them down, and hopefully whoever has been doing them, might be able to get around to doing one for your D27. :)

I've set up a tracker from my site, and the torrent files are there.

However, torrents rely on people seeding them, so we need people to keep seeding the files after you've finished downloading them.

Hopefully this will help people get the demo dvd's a bit quicker than they are now, especially if those who already have the titles can start seeding them.

If you recreate the .iso files, it probably won't match up to what the .torrent file set up for the original .iso is.

I'm also seeding all the disks from my home link, but so far the only one going out is disk 27.

Disk covers are on both my site and on reconlabtech's sites.

You won't / shouldn't find them on a public torrent tracker.

Have you tried getting a torrent client, and then using the torrent files to grab them the titles you want ?

It might end up being quicker than by ftp (although you'll still have to ftp the .torrent files). :)

Sounds like you are hitting to 4GB file size limit with FAT32. Try writing the file to a NTFS partition.

If the demo you were playing was DTS, you might not get any sound because your sound card and application might not have a DTS decoder. Make sure your computer can play surround mixes and has the correct options selected.

Very few of the demo dvds (maybe 3-4) actually have dts. The rest are all in DD or DD 2.0

These demos serve to demo your sound system but the clips are nice to watch too!

All correct, so lets just make one GREAT master one! I'm all for it, but don't have the BD burner to help.

The download would be huge so there may be a limitation. We can form a tree again or better yet keep a small fee for those who want to buy a copy. I can get a BR burner for this but I am not too familiar with rest of the process. Not sure who created the original discs to begin with. But if someone can outline the process, that would be great.

Also, I don't think I had an opportunity to thank the folks who created the Demo disks. Their hard work is greatly appreciated.

You are spot on! Disc #27 is a well crafted, excellent balance of clips and sound. That THX demo has subsonics so low it almost knocked me out of my chair! You will definitely learn if your sub has muscles!

I haven't been around anime in quite awhile so the Vexille clip was a nice touch too.

There's also a bonus screen of clips!

i assume i want to write an image to disc... but do i need to click "test mode" or "verify" ?

Not sure what else it could be. Are you using the free app ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) to burn the ISO file (vs. a Nero, etc)? Also, burn it as slow as possible and see if that helps.

You are burning image to disc. Sounds like imgburn doesn't like your media.

See if there is a firmware update for your burner. You will need the exact model number which you can find in the logfile created by imgburn.

I've bought 300 of these over the years from this vendor and had maybe 3 bad DVDs. Check out these (http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-8x-dvd-r-media-value-line.html) - 100 for $30 and free shipping.

hello, I just bought a mfw-15 sub and would like to test it out. I hear too many horror stories with the amp in this sub so I would like to run it through the pace

I feel like after years of searching I've finally found the ultimate Home Theater Paradise with these discs. Thank you to reconlabtech for hosting and updating the document, and thanks to all of you that created discs or contributed in some way to make these discs possible. They are a great addition to anyone's movie collection and I can't believe it has taken me this long to find them.

Can't wait for D28 and beyond especially with all of the great movies coming this year that are bound to have some classic A/V scenes like: Watchmen, Xmen: Wolverine, GI Joe, Fast and Furious, Transformers 2, Terminator 4, Star Trek, Monsters vs. Aliens, Earth, and others I'm sure to come. Wow, any volunteers yet? ;)

If you are using your browser, errors will occur that you cannot recover from. If the browser does not have passive ftp checked, you can run into user/password issues where it hits the server too many times with the anonymous userid and your ip is banned for an hour.

The userid and password have never changed, just the location that has been generously provided.
