And there's a total of 10 right?
Is there somewhere to download them since with this rate, it will take about a year to get them?

What's up with Disc 2 having that lame UPO 55 second lecture??

That sucks - gonna have to re-rip that and take that out. It will drive me insane if I have to sit through that every time I want to fire that up.

Just for the benefit of future seeders, wouldn't it be pretty simple for everyone who seeds the discs to others to at least re-rip Disc 2 and remove the UPO on that segment?

It wasn't broke.

That was the way it was intended to be. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone won't. I think if you want to remove it go ahead, but I don't think you should remove from other persons disks, unless others ask you to.

i recently discovered how to convert 1080 p High defition trailers from quicktime with 5.1 sound to dvd even though it has to be downscaled it looks awesome and sound great

so far I have 40 green band movie trailers such as aeon flux, chornicals of narnia.

and about 37 more

Im not sure if anyone else here likes trailers but I do because they are usually loud, and lots of surround with awesome classical mixed music throught them

when i get done , which may be a few weeks, I will see if I can get one up here on the site, if it is ok to do this

Man....word sure does get around fast...covers would be great!

I've uploaded 3of4 demos to swithey, he's going to convert to iso for
downloading purposes. Not sure when they will be available.

These discs were made before the demo craze started, I forgot I had them on my
hard drive. There's a lot you've seen and few that are new, format is like demo #4.

ok guys on the trailers

a huge flaw in the program that I SEARFCHED FOREVER for,

it was sonic soft encode

I NEED A PROGRAM that can convert 6 wma files into a ac3 file

the quicker one of you guys helps me the quicker my now (55 HD trailers can be downsized onto dvd and out to you guys

help me find a program

needs to be able to turn 6 mono wma to ac3 file

U might want to try this out i've used to convert a few other things never wma to ac3 but it may work

AEDTools Pro Google for it

ok i got the prgoram running again that transforms my trailers lol

it will only convert 8 files then i have to remove the program , reboot and then reinstall it and it will do 8 more lol ,

i will eventually get them done , i have several done right now

the only thing is that when i do get them done , they will just be playing one from the other

i dont know how to make menus

HT Demo Discs 11, 12, 13 and 14 just recently appeared on my FTP site! Everyone needs to throw a big "Thanks" out to Kweezr for making these available. He was cleaning up his hard drive and found these that he made a while back. All have animated menus like D4 and are packed with a combination of old and new material.

Demo Discs 11, 12, 13 and 14 are now LIVE and are available for download on my FTP site. You can download a summary of all the disc from this LINK (http://blaze.gotdns.com/demos/). Only the FTP site has the actual DVD Images available for download. As always, PM me if you need access to the FTP site.

BTW -- Tkwok is working on the covers and labels as we speak. He will post once they are available for download.

One program that has a relatively short learning curve but does a great job at making DVD menus (anyway you want) is called DVDLab. Here is their website:

what is the best way to do this ,

i was kind of wanting a screenshot of each trailer, but httat would be way to many

maybe just a list you could pick from and also play them looping , however right now the dvd they are on , you can fast forward but you cant rewind

Since it looks like the demo DVD collection won't reach the end of the list until sometime later this year, I thought I'd try to help it along.

I've made a complete set of the first 10 DVDs and will send them to parboy who is further down on the list. He will forward them to those below him while the current set handles those above him on the list. This way we will have two trees running in parallel.

It's nice to see other people offering to burn discs for AVSforum members, keep it up!

In an effort to help spread this new set of Demo DVDs (11-14), I am offering up 10 more B&Ps for these 4 Discs. Hopefully some people that reply to the B&P can help this new set spread more quickly on the vines that have been started.

DVDs MUST BE AT LEAST 8X (preferably 16x speed) & NO GENERIC DISCS PLEASE! Please use Sony, Verbatim, TDK, etc. NO generics or OfficeMax brand, etc. They do not burn consistently in my burners. Thanks in advance for complying with this request! :)

I use b&p’s a lot for trading live music but basically this is how it works.

You get 4 DVD blanks, put them in a padded envelop and send to me with return postage (and your address of course!). I then burn all 4 demo discs for you and return the discs/envelope to you with the return postage you included.

Turn around time will depend on how many responses I get but I can probably send the package back to you within 1-2 weeks of receiving your blanks (probably sooner but no promises).

When 10 B&P requests have been received, I’ll close the b&p with a message to this thread.

What I found in using DVDLab was that I had to insert chapter points at the beginning and at the end of each clip. I couldn't skip from the start of one over to the start of the next, so I would FF from the start of that clip to its end, wait for the transition, and then be at the clip I wanted. So in essence the first chapter point did not work in getting you from the previous to the next and became worthless.

Not sure what how to get that to work in DVDLab like you want. Wish I did for both our sakes.

easiest way is to put each scene into the movie window, and don't worry about
chapter points. you'll be able to to skip or go back with no problems.

Not sure what you mean. DVDLab lets you insert "movies" and then link them with that little arrow thingy so they play end to end.

Are you saying you can put more than one movie clip inside the little movie box? Or do you not link the movies to each other?

Can you show a screen shot of your DVDLab working window and I'd get my answer pretty quick?!!

And there you have it. I only use the black lines and attach the output of the right end to the left side of the next.

What are those pink lines? What are they called on the menu, maybe that's why I can't get it to work.

The pink lines are for menu return, push menu button on the remote in the middle of the clip and you go back to the track listing.

I have a couple older DTS Demo Discs packed away in storage right now (I am building a house). If someone can burn and send me the Disc 11 DTS Demo disc which kweezer put together, I would be more than happy to reciprocate with copies of the two DTS demo discs once I get them from storage. If I can not copy them, I will send you the originals. If I remember correctly, the discs are 1 and 3.

The problem is my house will not be ready for a few months so you will have to wait patiently until I unpack. PM me if interested.

If you haven't tried yet, try reading it with your DVD writer drive. I have seen several discs that I could not read with my DVD reader, but the DVD writer could read it fine.

You could do a hybrid design like they did on DTS Disc #9. The screen is divided into (2) vertical sections -- looping video on the left and all the titles on the right. The looping video would not need to include all the movies but maybe clips from a dozen or so.

If you are really feel like doing some work, you could actually have the movie clip on the left correlate to the text selection you have on the right.

Just a few thoughts.

ok guys i think trailer disc 1,2,3 is fixing to come out to everyone who wants copies.

kweezer is almost done making the menus,

Im starting to use dvd lab pro myself on my 4th disc,

currentl i have made menus successfully and added files, however , I cant find out how to make it where you can rewind to a previous trailer, you can fastforward to the next trailer, but when you hit the chapter rewind button , it just goes to the beggining of the same trailer and wont let you go to the previous

how do you fix this , as of righ tnow , this is my only problem

im having problems with certain trailer in dvd lab its a great program , but if it comes to me not being able to put all my trailers on a disc, I will stop making the menus

house of flyhing daggers, walk the line and a few others , it says that the gop is too long , and when i play the clip no time line is showing.

anyone know how to fix this problem , so i can continue with my trailers

Have you gotten any response to this? I'm very interested in the REAL DTS demos 8-10.

Something to think about.....

If DTS has their own Demo discs copyrighted. You probably should not be thinking about making copies of them, and then offering to spread them around.

I'd like to participate in this.. can someone point me to where in this thread the instructions are for getting on the list? I'm a little confused. :confused: :p

Take one of the tree updates or both and add your name to the bottom of it. When the person above you gets the DVDs "In", they will send you a PM asking for your address so they can send it "Out" to you. When you get the DVDs, update the tree by taking the most recent one by putting in the "In" date. Copy the DVDs and then send them to the person under your name, and update the "Out" date.

I am unable to copy Demo Disks 11-14. I'm using Nero and it reports that there is not enough disk space. Anyone run into this? Suggestions?

Data to be written is reported as 4,489. Space available is reported as 4,482. I've tried two different brands of DVD+R media.

I suppose I could use DL disks. Would that cause any problems? Other suggestions?

not sure why you are getting this error. One way to force Nero to burn it is to do this:

1) Open Nero
2) Pres Cancel to close the "New Compilation" window
3) Choose File then Preferences
4) Click on the "Expert Features" tab
5) Click "Enable DVD Overburn"
6) Make Max Size = 4500
7) Open your ISO and try the burn

Another option is to download DVD Decryptor and burn using that app. You can get it on my website (link in my sig). There is also an instruction guide to show how to burn with this app.

Side Jab-- But no "War of the Worlds"? There is a chapter that has about 5 minutes of LFE that dips to about 16Hz. I've heard that thing rocks the house. bpape/Brian told me it is so intense, some subwoofers shutdown because the amp get overheated :eek:

There's a bit of space left, I'll add it just for you ;)

I didn't add it because the DD doesn't have the same impact as dts,
but I'll let you guys be the judge.

As for another dts disc....still haven't figured out how to eliminate the sync issues.

Didn't I read that these were originally Hidef? If so, what format were they in? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few of the trailers in HD to play back from my HTPC on my 9' wide screen. That would really be something.

hi everyone. I am new to this forum. A member from axiom forum told me about this and i think it is a great idea. Personally, i just ordered my very first HT system (speakers are to arrive in 3 weeks). I would love to get my hands on these dvd demos to show case my HT system. However, i don' t have a dvd burner and so i was wondering if anyone would make an extra copy for me. I would be willing to send paypal to cover all fees and for your time. I wouldn't mind getting all of the demos but would also be greatly appreciated if you could even set me up with a few.

Thanks for this advice. I made the settings you suggested, left it to copy, and went to bed. When I came back in the morning, it was hung at about 90% complete and the source drive was making lots of noise. After getting the disk out, I realized that it was scratched. I have no idea if it scratched before or after I put it in the drive.

I fixed the scratch with one of those CD/DVD scratch removers and it worked. I also figured out that I needed to use DVD-R instead of DVD+R disks to get this to fit, so I didn't need the overburn setting.

Looks like we have some folks that do not have a DVD burner and I found one for $29 (after rebate). I have not used this exact one before but it is an OEM NEC drive. I've had (2) NEC DVD burners and have been very satisfied with them. This particular model will burn everything (even double-layer DVDs) for only $29 after rebate (must be purchased by 3/21/06 to be eligible for rebate).

I'm having some problems with the downloaded files and hope that someone has either dealt with this already or can offer a solution. The problem is that not all of the .iso images burn properly to DVD. They all burn just fine but some make a playable DVD and others won't play (or even be recognized) at all.

I've used both DVD Decrypter and Roxio Disc Copier. With both programs I have the same problem with the same .iso images, so I don't think the problem is the software. Also, since some have burned correctly and others have not, I don't think the problem is my burner or the media I'm using.

The only thing I've noticed is that when using Roxio, I can see chapter listings on the discs that burn correctly and I only see one big file (Track 01) for the discs that won't play. In addition to the chapters being listed, the "working" .iso files are described as "DVD-Video Disc Image" in Roxio and show "16:9, NTSC" as the format. The files that don't produce workable dvds after being burned are described as "Data Disc" or "DVD-Video" with the single large file described as a "data track".

I'm really stuck on this problem. When burning the "bad" files, everything works properly. Both DVD Decrypter and Roxio recognize the files as valid and burn as if normal. I've even successfully ripped an .iso image from one of the dvds that won't play, so I know the file isn't corrupted. It just won't play (and the re-ripped version didn't play when re-burned, either).

Has anyone seen this problem before? Thoughts? Help? Advice? Thanks!
Just had a few ideas:

Option #1
--------------
1) Mount the ISO file with Daemon Tools (http://www2.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5). The app creates a “Virtual” DVD drive on your PC that your DVD Player can see to play the movie
2) Try to play (using your PC DVD Player) the mounted ISO file from your “Virtual” DVD Drive
3) If it plays properly on your PC, you know the ISO file is good
4) Use your normal DVD burner software to COPY the DVD from the Daemon “Virtual” DVD to your real drive – basically a Disc to Disc copy

Option #2
--------------
1) Download WinRAR (http://www.rarlab.com/). This program can open ISO files.
2) Extract the VIDEO_TS folder to another location
3) Use Nero (or whatever you have) and create a new DVD-Video Disc. I’d try Nero's FREE trial because it is a proven method (http://ww2.nero.com/enu/index.html)
4) Put everything from the just extracted VIDEO_TS folder into the new VIDEO_TS
5) Burn
6) See if it works :)
