Hey guys, I'm a little confused. I just got a new plasma. I want the break-in files for my thumb drive. I see files for DVD-R. Is that what I need? Thank you!

Just got my Samsung 64D7000.

Burnt the images cd, have it running now.

Is it correct for when the slides change to have horizontal or vertical lines of the upcoming slide? How long will the cd run for if not loooped?

I never use the optical disk method, only USB, but I've never noticed anything like that and it should not be normal. How long do the lines remain on screen?

I believe the DVD method is about ~43 minutes long, but I don't know if or see how if the data will fit on a CD.

For example, the red slide is showing, and when it changes to the darker red slide the change will cascade across the screen in lines of the darker red color, then the whole screen is the darker red color. The "bars" part only last less than a second then the solid color image is on the screen.

Sounds like you may have some kind of "transition effects" enabled on either the TV or DVD player. As long as the colors are totally uniform and any bars or lines are only on the screen for a second, I wouldn't worry about it.

Switched to a thumb drive and the slides change from one solid color to the next color.

I don't understand why some many try the DVD method (and so many end up with problems with that method), instead of the USB drive method--which is much simpler. ;) Drag the (thumb drive) images to a USB drive and run that, takes seconds.
Yes, this is the easiest method to do it. I just copied the images to a thumb drive and plugged it into the TV, ran the slideshow. That's it.

I just discovered this DVD (I choose the "burn DVD-R" method) and I will receive my new plasma this week end;

Maybe the question has been already answered but I was not able to retrieve it;

The disc is supposed to be 720p but plasma are 1080p now;

Is it a problem to run this disc? and what about "the break in" efficiency ?

USB is the way to go on the Panny. Downloaded Evangelos break in images to a thumb drive and have been running it using the Viera media player (his site specifies USB and DVD files). Just turn off any fancy slide transitions and run at normal speed. it just clicks along quietly.

Could someone (expert) please clarify and explain step by step what someone should do in plain English to break in a new plasma (VT30) TV?

picked up this set last night from sears, good price and free glasses. my 1st plasma. my 1st impression WOW. 3d is way better than i thought it would be too.

so many questions as i am new to plasma, will read this thread and hopefully find answers.

connected to my ps3, lag and jittery video (3d files only). its my hdmi cable. need a new faster one. thumb drive plays 3d just fine, will do for now.

burn in... new to this technology. will read thread before i decide what to do.

any advice to a newbie on this stuff would be most welcomed.

this tv makes my sony lcd look weak and not as good bright colors as i thought i had.

I have learned lots in a very short while thanks to this forum. Just downloaded the images to a USB stick and started my burn-in cycle via slideshow. TCP50ST30 replacing (wait for it....) a 1996 Mitsubishi tube TV (that was highly rated in its day...)

just to make this super clear just download anyone of the formats on to a usb thumb drive plug it into the tv and play it?

I just got a 51d8000 samsung. So if there is anything i have to do in particular to this tv please let me know. I am going to do the low contrast setting probably run it for 400 hours.

I downloaded the iso version so far but my computer doesnt recognize it for some reason. Just dont want to get home and have the same problems. Thanks

I have tried everthing in this thread and still cannot get it to play. I only have Sonic buring software. I unzip, slect all and drag to software then burn. I have done as data, slideshow and video as well as just drag to usb stck. Won;t run as slide show from dvd player as looks for jpg's. Advice or any other software besides nero which I did not have luck getting. It gave me Nero Kwik view.

I buy a new plasma (Panasonic ST30).

It is necessary for me to pass this DVD? For how long?

I down load the video_ts, burn dvd using Nero. Loaded in player but see all is white screen on tv. Is it supposed to be like that?

I am using a Panny BDP210 blu-ray player for my new Panny Gt30... Is there a way to keep the DVD looping and playing without stopping???:o

I can't believe people are still doing this. This is completely and absolutely unnecessary. Just enjoy your new tv. There no reason to do this.

Today's plasmas are much better. Just don't have it in brilliant mode and always display a full screen image (except with some bluray movies of course) and it'll age naturally. Even if you used this, you'd still have the possibility of some temporary burn-in. My PN50A550 is 4 years old, but still every once in a while after the kids watch cartoon network hd for an extended period of time I can see the symbol in the lower right for a few minutes after I change the channel. But it always goes away. The chances of a full burn-in with newer plasmas is pretty nil unless you're displaying a high contrast picture on it 24/7 in brilliant mode. Most people won't do that, though. :D
