Honestly I didn't notice much of a difference in picture quality but I definately an improvement in SQ no question about it.

I don't think the camera I used did justice to my little gaming cave. It's been a nice place to get away. With a two and a half year old, keeping the cords away was a necessity. I'd prefer the screen on the wall, but my wife likes how it looks on the table.

People are probably messing with their settings to make their TV look like these guys. Goes to show you that you don't need to go and get a $7k or $8k TV to get a great HD experience.

I work there while going to school. Great company in that respect, Bose pays 80% of my tuition and you get some nice perks along the way. The LS48 was one of them.
In the systems defense, it does sound great in my shoe-box condo. Is it good value for money? Absolutely not, but we all know theirs is a target demographic largely unconcerned with such things.

That's true. Mostly the flame come from people with dedicated home theater viewing space who love value for their money (although I think everyone does). I don't like Bose for that reason only. For the same price I can make an out of this world system in that same space. Therefore I would rather put the money toward some 360 games and bigger TV and cheaper speakers with the same performance in the same space.

But yea, very very clean setup. Setups say a lot about people.

i don't like bose, and it's got nothing to do with cost, it's their sound I have an issue with. No highs no lows, all mids. I used to sell Bose, or at least tell people to buy something else. MAke no wonder i didn't work there for very long.

I have two dreamcasts but I rarely play them these days unfortunately.

Dreamcast was the very first console I purchased w/ 100% my own money... :o. I didn't have enough for a PS2 and the dreamcast came with a demo disk :rolleyes: which I though was the Shizz back then.

The Dreamcast, in my opinion, was more advance than the PS2 and of course graphically better. Especially for those who had their Dreamcast hooked up to a VGA Monitor.

I wish someone, maybe Xbox 360, would have picked up on the VMU addon. That would have been a great addon for a game like Madden or some type of strategy game where you did not want the other player to see your plays. With all that being said, I fire up my Dreamcast sometimes for some old Dead or Alive action, Shemnue, NFL3k. Wowww first great online gameplay for a console.

i loved the dreamcast, and the play selection with the vmu, there were also cool little mini games i took with me on the vmu and played back in school, haha.

i still have the DC, vga cable, vmu, and all my games :)

Do you guys keep the same calibration for games as for movies?

I mean Avia and DVE are great, but i feel for videogames need different type of calibrations than movies.

Example, i don´t feel 6500k for movies is necessary.

What do you guys do?

It's becuase you have your camera in night mode. This is a special mode that keeps the shutter open longer after the flash goes off so that the background gets more exposed. The reason you are getting the streaky lights is that you are moving the camera after the flash goes off but before the shutter has closed.

I'm running it on VGA with expanded mode on a Sony 42A10. I also change the service menu abit too.

It not hard... But you have to be really really careful or you will have a thousand dollar paper weight..... and it voids your warranty

Ok, here is the first attempt at posting pictures for me. My camera is a POS so they probally look a little washed out. Sport mode is the only with a faster shutter, however horrible exposure. When I turn up long exposure by .7, I get a little more light then I want so these will have to make do. BTW the tv's has alot more contrast and deep blacks then what these pictures show.

I know this is strange...but it only worked for me if I used "enhanced mode" instead of the default "guided mode" when composing messages. You might wanna try this.

well i uploaded them to photobucket then had it create a html format that worked on here. Tonight I will take some more pics, but since i can upload the image to photobucket without compression they will be much better. These crap images were just a test, and dont even come close to how good this tv looks. anyone want a pic of my setup as well?

i used sports because it had fast shutter speed but it doesnt let enough light in without using long image exposure, which made it have too much light. camera is a Kodak DX4530

yeap, unless you use Movie mode you will have DNie.
What you can do is turn off most of the DNie proccesing, what i did.

Dynamic Dimming
Dynamic CE
and Dynamic contrast

all of them off, but still there is some dnie proccesing.

How about E.Saving, where you have set at?

as vegas said, it is believed that the x-clamps are linked to the hardware failures. i had a 3ROL on my system, a towel trick would NOT revive it. i took off the x-clamps and now it's been running for 3-4 weeks, 10+hours a day, not a single freeze.... this is all after the 3 rings. i'm VERY glad i didnt send it in for repairs.

Wow, thanks for the kind words. No custom shelving just the "Latitude (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=994&f=10305) " set from crate and barrel. I just measured, measured and re-measured to make sure everything would fit. There is actually some space on either side of the TV. Might be time to step it up to a 56 inch! :p

Hey dude...not sure if the color issue is camera or projector or the actual network HD-video cameras, but having seen a live game with the Bengals I can say that their helmets are definitely not the reddish color shown on your TV and are in fact quite orange.

I had this issue on my plasma as well and also noticed that their colors changed depending on the camera angle, so it may be an issue in color representation by the network cameras.

Either way, thought I'd mention it in case your color setting is off.

Otherwise, sweet setup! :cool:

It's the lights from a night game. If they were playing under sunshine the color of the helmets would lean more towards the reddish-orange color you are thinking of.

I'm gonna have to disagree...having seen a live game last season when they played the Saints in the Superdome (lots of lights) it is still VERY clear that their helmets have virtually no hint of red.

What is more likely is that red is a difficult color for cameras to represent accurately, because I even noticed this at the actual game on the Jumbo-tron, their helmets looked like they did in your post while looking at their actual uniforms they were more orange.

Remember...their helmets are more orange and less red...the fact that red predominates must mean that the color isn't being accurately read by either their video cameras or rendered by your display (and likely most, including my TV)

I don't think there is a problem w/ his TV- look @ the NBC logo, the orange is orange, the red is red and the yellow is yellow. Just my thoughts :o

I'm not saying there is anything wrong...the picture is beautiful.

I guess I'm musing about where the failure in color representation has occurred. At the level of the network video cameras? Or the color representation on our end.

Since this forum is filled with many more knowledgeable people than me regarding issues of color representation by video gear I thought I could learn something from it and thought I'd bring it to people's attention that the color is not right. Now it's probably likely that his TV/projector is FAITHFULLY displaying the incoming and inaccurate color signal as it gets it. In other words, a classic example of garbage in/garbage out, and nothing wrong on user end.

I just wish that we could get accurate color representation from our HD sources :(

I got intrigued and checked the EXIF data on that picture. I apparently had "folliage" mode enabled on the camera which gives it a more warmth feeling extenuating the reds which I am guessing why their helmets appear a little more reddish.

No I don't. I haven't gotten around to doing co-op with my friend. He's even better than me.

I'm still trying to get the 1000 note streak. I get to like 800-something and I always mess up. X-Stream is the song of choice for that.

I freakin love the speakers

especially when you get PCM audio going through them

though it only supports stereo PCM(you can do stereo x2 and have it mirrored on to the rear speakers) it sounds absolutely incredilbe

pics were taking off of my crappy sidekick 3 camera thats why its so blurry. im going to upgrade the surround sound. right k=now its a 650 watt onkyo surround sound but i will upgrade it to a onkyo 605, bostons speakers(vrc for center, vr2's for the front, and p430 for the rear. doing 7.1 and a 10 inch velodyne sub woofer) please leave comments!!! i know my stand is dirty so i have to clean off all those papers

Calm down... was that aimed directly at you? No. Was your name even mentioned in my post? No. Is the thread title "So, post your 360 screenshots and tv u r using"? Yes. My point is the thread has become "screenshots"... :rolleyes: In your last post you made NO mention to your display, so someone wondering in to this thread to read would only see screenshots and then need to post and ask "Wow, what kind of TV is that?"...

Except for the 46" lcd and the elites, I have had 3 tvs and even more equipment connected for about three years. I got rid of my turntable, eq, a separate tuner, a 2nd vcr and a reel to reel. I think the lcd uses less power then the 32" crt that it replaced. No power problems at all. I do have some heat issues. I had to custom make some venting and fans. I would love to be able to simplify it more. I like the spartan look. But I have to have all my media and equipment in one place. Still I am in happyville. Multi screen gaming, watching 2 nfls games and playing on a 3rd screen, watching 3 different porn titles, and watching HD content makes me a happy man.

Its really not hard to add the biggest offenders to your ignore list. Pages load faster, and it leads to more posts per page.

Click the username > view profile > ignore posts.

I have 2 or 3 copies of games so we can play on separate screens. I hate split screen. This way, we can sneak or our plays in madden are secret. Multi screen gaming is a blast. With three screens I can:

have 3 way racers or shooters. Gaming on multi screen
Watch 2 nfl games and play madden on the 3rd.
Watch different porn on 3 tvs
watch tv and have pc access for google/wikipedia
play games on 2 tvs and have softcore on one tv to distract my oponent.
Watch a movie in hd on one screen.

The stand is a salamander twin 30 with center channel shelf.
the stand is 30" tall, and the center opening is right at 20".
the center opening is 10' tall.

The 40's are quite nice, they are also the v3's. They have more bass than the 20's obviously, I would get a pair of 40's and put your 20's as surrounds. ;) Fantastic sound though. A little pricey by average consumer prices, but much cheaper than B&W's and their pretentious diamond tweeters..lol. Yeah the CC is the v4's. By the time I was ready to add the CC the v4's were already out. It still matches perfectly. Thanks for the compliment. :D

lol i didnt really save up,my dad just bought most of the stuff and i helped pitching in..only the ps3 i really paid for and 360...i have my savings account along with my paypal..and having stuff i dont use in my house no more+ebay= :D

pioneer plasmas are really nice..just a quik ? what plasma you think is better panasonic or pioneer? ;)

The new pioneer 8g plasma's are the best flat panel tv money can buy right now. The area were they shine over panasonic is black level and real contrast.
These pictures dont show how good this thing really looks. BTW the audio in my setup is pretty decent too.

btw your neighbors must hate you when you crank up the sound lol
