Actually mine is the HLS5687W and I looked at the HLT5076S and IMO the 87W has better pq as well and less issues with bowing due to a more sturdier frame and bezel. When I checkout the thread for HLT almost all the posts were about issues with bowing and people went thru 3-4 sets that all had the same amount of bowing. I also noticed it at the store. I spent about 30 minutes with the sets until I settled with the 87W.

I have the same cable box and I do have a svhs connected, but via svhs. For grainy goodness :) I also have a mini disc. Sad bt my turntable doesn't fit. My friend has a working 8 track in his system for shits and giggles. Its funny.

Nice! You guys have some sweet set-ups. I couldn't even imagine the immersion factor playing on some of these huge displays. I have a Sony xbr970 34" and it looks small as hell compared to these other sets/projections lol. Defboob though, i was wondering if anything is clipped off your projection display when playing or watching movies on the 360? The overscan on the left side in your pic on the xbox dashboard looks really high. Looking through other pics on here and when looking at mine the last blade on the left of the dashboard shows alot more of it.

Hmm I hadn't noticed this before....I'm gonna have to go check it out. The image is perfectly aligned with my screen, and there's no overlap into the black velvet trim. There's nothing getting cut off when actually playing a game, and being able to play on a 106" screen is freakin amazing :D

ok thank you, i got the Game at a store in the Bronx, New York. Yes i can post some more pics up later on Monday night. The game is great, lots of perks if u like that and just all around awesome game and the campaign mode is excellent. like i said b4 the people who have been playin Halo 3 are sayin its better then that, so with that said alone it must be awesome game, its a definate must have.
As for my setup no its not a dedicated room, its my living room setup as a home theater, ill post more pics later tonight.

Yea i had a feeling they would have it so I cashed in all my change ($68) drove to the store and there it was sitting in the front glass display. I parked illegally, left my car running, gave the Asian man $65 and drove home and played from 2pm to 6am with some breaks in between. There were only like 100 people now there are 2300 online. So im not the only one i see.

My quick review for you is that the game play is awesome, great graffics, AI, great perks (so many i usually dont know which ones to choose), multiplayer map, i think like 10 maps, one where its raining, which is hot if u have surround sound so you can hear the rain pouring down all around you and see and hear the lightning and thunder. Compared to other games? I cant really thats how good it is and im not just saying that, if it was a wack game i would be honest and say its wack but i cant, i played form 2pm to 6am with only bathroom and food breaks, now i got sore hands and they say its a lot better then Halo 3. So there you have it. Im sure you will have fun on ur projector.

I'm in college also working on a Mechanical Engineering degree. I worked a well-paying internship for my toys.

Here is my 37" Vizio. For my audio setup (which will be upgraded soon), I have a Klipsch Promedia GMX 5.1 system. It's a computer sound system but it fills the room nicely and sounds excellent.

The first picture is of the Hitman HD trailer and the second is of the hardest game on the 360... it also has great colors. Sorry for the lack of photography skills.

If any game is overhyped it's definately Halo 3, how many Halo 3 products besides the game were all over the place. From your mountain dew soda, to all types of other BS. IMO CoD4 is the better game.

Yeah and it's pretty dang fun . Played it a few times on Arcade mode today and was ranked in the low 300's at about 19,000 points but the top of the leaderboard was over 100,000 and I am totally lost as to how somebody would get that high of a score in the Arcade mode of that mission .

This is my 40" Bravia 720p I just bought on Friday. I turned in my Gateway 24" for it. I returned 3 Gateway monitors and thought the the newer version would be better. But fortunately it wasn't. So I went and exchanged it for the Bravia and just paid $608.00. I'm really happy with it. The Bravia has a Great PQ for SD and HD. I love gaming on it also.

I play Call of Duty 4 on 720p and it looks sick. Sitting at 10" is ideal. The image is very crisp and you can notice the textures and details of the game.

Yea i know right, this game is really amazing, in that particular level, it feels like your actually there the way the guy talks to you and tell you what to do and gives you option to take out the enemy or let him pass, I chose take him out of course. mboojigga, it's the 720p version. When I was at Best But, I calibrated both the 1080p and 720p and stood about the same distance that I would be watching my tv at home. And you know what, yes you do see some minor differences as far as text goes, but the 720p picture is great at that distance. Yesterday while me and my buddy was watching my Phins lose again, he was "**** THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!". That just justified the purchase.

Here's my setup. I just got the TV and Stand. I need to add a CD/DVD rack on the right and move the sub to the left. Looks empty, but the TV is a 40" Bravia and the wall is about 70". I trimmed the pic but you get the picture. At about 10", 720p looks sick. I might get the 1080p version, but I'll get it next year when it comes down. Till then, this is more than enough.

I noticed that while playing the "One Shot, One Kill" mission a few days ago. I was standing in a corner surrounded by buildings and the reflection in my scope showed what looked like a bunch of trees when there were none around me.

Hey bro you need to change some things on your 6010. Turn contrast down to about 35 turn brightness to about +1 and turn gamma to 3, oh and make sure you turn off DRE. You have some serious black crush going on there bro. I dont have any crush with my Elite Kuro. The key is to get the gamma on 3, because that will yield a gamma curve that is 2.2, which is what the hd standard is. When you do this you will see all the shadow detail. I want to post some pics of uncharted drakes fortune on my elite, but my camera sucks hardcore.

I've always been used to the "Point n Shoot" cameras so this whole "Manual" thing is pretty cool and a bit complicated. But I have the whole weekend to practice.

I'm still trying to figure out this camera. Electronics. Gotta love it. I'm trying to get the picture and colors to the exact thing I'm looking at, but man it's hard. Looking at Mass Effect and it looks too red. And you know what, in the game itself it looks too red. Call of Duty 4 isn't as red and it looks more realistic. But I guess it's my picture taking skills.

The room looks very nice. Very clean set up. I bought a Carada back when David first started advertising/discussing his screens on AVS. It has been the best investment to my home theater of everything I have bought.

My HT set up is in a bonus room surrounded by 4 bedrooms .. all with kids in them. :) I bought a set of Pioneer DIR800Cs for after thier bedtime. Looking forward to more pics.

Nice room. That shelving you have the center channel on looks exactly like the 2 Lack units I just returned to Ikea. For $69 each you couldn't beat the price. I had planned on stacking them under my screen to hold my gear but they were only 15" deep and wouldn't hold my receiver.

They are much better than what that picture shows. I do have total light control, all the recessed lights can be dimmed and I can have the back lights on with the front lights off...etc. I just wanted to show the room as well within the action shot instead of just a pure black surrounding and the image. The Epson 400 has excellent image quality in my opinion.

I know, but then i rarely take pics of anything...lol...I may though pick up a real cam after the holidays.

Actually I dont find the anti glare as bad as alot of people complain about and i have mine set on Cinema mode. COD4 looks amazing....I think im going to go check out something that has really bright colors like Viva Pinata....havent played it yet on this TV.

And as far as people that complain about the blacks. I find the black level to be pretty good actually.

Where did you pick up that AV rack? I've been thinking about buying one and putting it in a closet like some people do. My current solution of putting everything on a small TV stand isn't really cutting it.

Does that scope have real time reflections? I didn't notice that as I was playing. Lining up shots from a distance with the red dot on any of the AR's must be cake on a screen that gigantic. My TV is 60" and I still have to squint to see people that are fairly far away, but with that screen you probably see them clear as day. Very nice

I have this game to...my god it is such a gorgeous game!

Yup. Buying multiple copies suck. But system link and xbl is a blast with friends. Co op is just so much fun. And yes my game room is small and very cluttered. I am jealous of some of these wide open and wonderful theaters.

PS- I also agree about the sofa. But I can see the budget got spent on other things :) What nice theaters everyone.

The couch is actually pretty big , about 12' from end to end (seats 5 people) . The resize software is messing with the aspect of some of the pics , the prime seat of the couch is actually about 14' from the screen even though it does not look like it .

Haha, I agree on the couch. It was a freebie hand-me down, what can I say :) I blew my budget on all the other equipment and room make-over. Perhaps in 2008 i'll say hello to new furniture and an area rug. Same goes with a universal remote, haha. I'll maybe post some more pics of it in action tonight.

The glare of lighting in that pic is a little exaggerated, plus i can turn those off too...they're just for a little party effect. It doesn't really shine on the floor too much in the proper viewing area. An area rug is certainly on the list :D

I typically have much of the same problem with very low light at around 3% and under ambient, particularly in regard to the tint issues exampled in your shots. Any advice from AVS members (other than a condescending "buy a new camera" remark) is appreciated.

Try changing the white balance of the camera to tungsten. Or use levels in photoshop and click on set white levels. Click on something white. Try mixing flash and ambient light. I downloaded one pic and set white balance in photoshop. It took 2 seconds. It is a bit better.
