I can't find the access code here.
Can someone help me with instructions on how to access it?
The tech was just here.
I just want to monitor the bulb life!
Thanks in advance

Okay, based on memory (this is my third Panny), I got into my service menu. But where are the h-width and v-width options? All I need is to up the h-width by a bit. This was easy on the last Panny I owned. There has to be a way this can be done, doesn't there?

Unfortunately Panasonic removed the option to adjust overscan on the 50U/500U and 6U/60U/600U Models.

Thanks for the hideously disappointing info. BruZZi (but genuine thanks, as it's nice to know and you've always been a great help around these here parts). So have you found a workaround yet? I'm sure there must be genuine overscan/underscan issues with the TV and that there must be a way to adjust for them. Or would they just replace the entire panel?

So, could anyone let me know if these black bars on the side when I play video games with the Wii or PS2 will lead to uneven aging? How worried should I be about this? Should I stick exclusively to the 360 or PS3? If I turn the settings way down would it eliminate the problem? Like turn "Picture" and "sharpness" down to -10 when playing these games? Or could it still lead to uneven aging. Between my husband, myself and my brother who's currently living with us, these gaming machines are probably on 12 hours a day.

I have the Vizio vm models they are 32 ,37 and 42 inch models from wall mart. I was wondering if on the 2 smaller there was any way to turn on pip? Am I able to get to the factory service menu on these brands tried bruzzi's method on his site does not work any info would be appreciated???

BruZZi's site has service menu access instructions for the pz700u, but not factory reset. I tried the reset instructions for the pz600u, and it does cycle through the self-check mode, but unlike the the pz600u disconnecting the AC plug from the wall outlet does not reset the panel. Anyone know how to do this?

The info was added. Check the Panasonic FAQ. :)

I've been very busy in the last few months so sorry if I can't answer questions promptly. :)

I haven't find a way to do it.

Turning Picture (Contrast) and Brightness will help a lot. The black bars will be (eventually) an issue only if you don't watch a good amount of programming that fill the whole screen.

The info was added. Check the Panasonic FAQ. :)

I looked at your site and I only see new info added to the Panasonic commercial thread for the 9UK and 10uk. No new info for the 700u in the consumer thread. Do the factory reset instructions for the commercial models also apply to the consumer models?

I was able to use BruZZi's method to access the Service Menu in my Vizio VP50 plasma. Thanks!

But I'm wondering -- is there some place in the Service Menu to find out how many hours of operation I have so far (for break-in purposes)? It sounds like other brands of plasmas do that, but can I find it on a Vizio?

Orion makes a lot TVs for Toshiba (and some for Sharp). So you might try their codes.

If you mean access codes...

That's because Sony uses the first two codes for most of their TVs. :)

none of them work for the TLA-01511c

Many Polaroid TVs are made by Prima (Xoceco).

Maybe that model uses a different code or It's manufactured by a different Brand. Try the other codes (For Sharp, Orion, Proview, etc) posted on my Website.

Hi,

I'm looking for the SACs for a westinghouse LVM-37w1. I tried the ones posted in the guide but #2 didn't work (pressing input + volume down prevents the user from turning on the TV). For #1 I don't see a display button on the remote. Is there something I'm missing here?

RIght now the white levels are waaaaay to high for Component output and I'd like to adjust it.

Thanks,
Kyle

If you do this trick on channels witout signal, you get a menu with voices such as vert and horiz offset, digital adjust, evaluation... instead of the color regolation scheme. But "under" the menu window channels changes quickly so you dont have time to change settings and to exactly understand on wich channel you are (with channels i mean tv,av, scart, etc).

Have you managed to use that menu??

I've been looking for service codes for my Acer AT3220A for a long time, and have never found any. Figured I'd give this one a try even though it's for a different model.

What do you know, it works! Too bad I have the same issue, where no matter the input source the menu just won't stay up long enough to actually use it. Anyone that can use this service menu actually get it to stay on screen for more than 1 second?

P.S. NTSC AT3220A from Canada

I used the service menu code on my LVM-37W1, got into service menu ok and made adjustments to RGB on Colour 1 only. Hit factory reset to get out of the service menu and everything seemed to work ok, but instead of just going to a blank screen on inputs when there's no signal, it flashes black and white alternately now. Still seems to work, when signal from source comes on flashing stops and picture comes in, just wondering if I wrecked the TV somehow? :p I didn't want to screw with the EEPROM or anything else, as I don't know what it does. Anyone know?

This is a request for accessing the Trutech service menu. I would like to try and get 1:1 pixel mapping across the VGA, as right now everything scales, even on VGA input. Specific model is the Trutech PLV16320. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a tech coming out but accessed the sound(stv825x) menu option and some how all the values got reset to zero. Every category with the "sound" que seems to have different settings.

Does someone have a guide of sorts that shows what I can reset the various choices at?

When I hit "Reset" in the menu it does not do anything and it only restarts setting time, checking for channels and what part of the country i live in.

This all started by the way with a power outage and the sound was stuck on zero and when I would increase the sound it would actually back down on its own to zero.

Overall, the set works and the sound works but I am guessing that something went wrong with zero settings and I do notice that when I "game on 360 with headphones, the stero aspect is gone - right ear only. Not so, when watching tv with headphones.

Any ideas?

Hello all.

I'm having some SERIOUS probs with my girlfriend's mother's refurbed Sanyo DS-24425-02.

Originally, I thought the problem may lie in the onboard tuner, as the initial issue was with the TV accepting a split from a cable box, and the auto-shut-off feature. However, after pulling the RF cable line and replacing the screw-type RF connector with a push-type adaptor and adding an inline booster, the problem persisted.

So then i started messing around in the service menu. Using the service manual as a guide, i reset all values outlined in the "if eeprom is replaced" section...they were mostly wrong at the outset.

and then something very strange happened. Halfway through this process, the onscreen display quit, the TV display lost about 1/2 brightness, and now the set is stuck in some half-mode b/w service and standard operation. Any attempt to restart the service mode leaves me able to adjust certain features, but there is no onscreen display, either in "service" or "standard" modes.

It's obvious I need to erase/flash the eeprom (IC802), but I cannot find a SINGLE method on how to do this, save for a few mentions of unplugging the set from AC over 4 hours, which does NOTHING.

Do I need to replace the IC? Is there a way to reset the eeproms from outside the box? Is the TV finished?

HELP!!!!!

Please write me at jeffreyp@ocularnutrition.ca as opposed to PM's if you please. However, PM's will do in a pinch, of course...

Not a valid model number in the US, but Sony sets generally use the sequence Dislay, 5, Vol+, Power from stby. Unless you have the rest of the remote codes and know exactly what you are doing in the SM I would recommend staying out of it.

Well, I just really need to center the picture. Are those adjustments gone too? I'm actually surprised that the picture is off-center with my HDMI sources, especially if there's no service menu adjustment. I hate it when letterbox bars are taller on the top than the bottom. It seems like it'd be spot-on through HDMI (like it is with my TH-50PX60U). I wonder if this is something that could be addressed with a firmware update...

Any calibration specialist who does not have the documentation on your set should be avoided. IMO, it is completely unprofessional to not have the service info on the set and doing our homework before attempting a calibration. Anyone who has to rely on the client to get that info is not a pro in my view.

You will not likely be fixing a geometry problem in the service menu for an SXRD set anyway.

Hi everybody! I am french (sorry for my bad english) and i got a problem. 3 days ago, i bought a "Hannspree Xv JT02-37E2-000G 37". I saw on lot of forums that it is possible to adjust the backlight on this model. But in my settings menu, i can't. So i made research on internet, and i saw there's a "hidden" menu called "service menu", that is accessible by pressing "MENU-9-9-1". I tried this "code" but it doesn't work.

Does anybody know the code to enter this "secret menu", or know how to set the backlight ?

Thanx a lot.

Hello.

I have a BenQ W500 projector. It might be BenQ's first LCD projector. I was would like to put in a request for the service menu access code. I think it would be useful seeing as a lot of people think its downfalls could be resolved by tweaking the gamma curve.

I have tried all the Benq codes on http://www.bruzziforum.com. Unfortunately they do not work.

I have spent a few weeks searching online for the access code, but without luck. Please PM me if you find the access code or if you have some good resources I could use to find it myself.

Hey I have an Olevia 537H, I tried the "source" + "vol-" + "ch-", but nothing. I searched the thread and didn't find anything about the 537H so any info please?
Thanks in advance.

B11 or B12? What is your firmware version?

You have to hit all three precisely at the same time, try several times. Verify the buttons you are pressing, the Channel Down is next to the Menu Button (Olevia did not keep the Vol/Channel +/- placement consistent).

It has worked on every 537h I have tried.

From another post:
How did you access the service menu? I assume via the RS232C port, but what did you connect it to?

This has been covered long ago... for the record, the 537h (both B11 and B12) respond to the SOURCE, VOLUME DOWN (vol -) and CHANNEL DOWN [Ch-) Buttons (on the TV itself) at the same time and will enter the Service Menu. MENU Button will exit. YOU NEED TO HAVE THE TV POWERED ON TO ENTER THE SERVICE MENU!

I had been working on a ControlCAL Display Profile (see link in my signature below) for the 537h's which would allow you too access several controls via RS232 during calibration, but I got side tracked with the Pioneer ISF Display Profile.

First screen cap is the B11, 2nd is the B12 (sorry for cap quality, I simply used the camera in my phone):

Bruzzi, I'd like the service menu code to my Magnavox 20MC4304/17 CRT television with built-in DVD/VCR player.

Here is the product page:

Magnavox 20MC4304/17 (http://www.magnavox.com/index.cfm?event=main&cat_id=3&subcat_id=1&product=31)

Note that the remote supplied with the television doesn't have a MENU, INFO, or STATUS button. I've done some Googling for Magnavox service menu codes and all I've found mention the use of one of those three buttons in the button sequence.

Thanks for your help. This television desperately needs adjustment. I get purple splotches in the corner whenever there is a brown color on screen.

Have been into the service menu, and found the white balance category, took care to write down all settings before tweaking on them. However, after going through several of the available parameters, while displaying stairstep pattern, am unable to discern any change in drive/bias. Also tried resetting the user white balance controls, then re-entering the service menu to see if any value changes could be noted. None were. Anyone with an idea of what parameters affect the hdmi 1 input, your feedback would be appreciated. Need to bring the overall blue gain up the equivalent of 2-3 points in the user menu, as the user menu value currently is set at zero, but need more latitude for adjusting.

I stumbled across this on a random day trying once again to figure out the service menu on my Emerson LC320EM8, by basically digging through every funai LCD service manual I could find on funai's german ftp server. As these remotes seem fairly universal to all Emerson/Funai/Symphonic (as well as a host of store brand) tv's......give this a try..

There's a hidden "service" button on the remote located below and in between the locations of the CH +/- and VOL +/- buttons....you have to cut the bezel on the remote to reveal it...
http://www.fastsilicon.com/images/service.jpg

How to initialize the LCD television:
1. Turn the power on.
2. To enter the service mode, press the service
button on the service remote control unit. (Refer to
page 5-1.)
- To cancel the service mode, Press POWER button on
the remote control unit.
3. Press INFO button on the service remote control
unit to initialize the LCD television.
4. "INITIALIZED" will appear in the upper right of the
screen. "INITIALIZED" color will change to green
from red when initializing is complete.

Hope this info is useful to someone else...

Scott

I actually just took apart my remote to give that a shot, though my remote looks a little different. I found a trace on the remot that does *something* but it's not really a service menu.

Using this remote:

http://remotecontrolwarehouse.com/remote_img/NF015UD.jpg

There are two "buttons" in the gap on the top right, below "Input Select" and above "Audio." They've got contacts on the underside, but the rubber is shaved down so it can fit under the cover.

Anyway, when I press the lower of the two, the one closest to audio, I get some text on the top left corner:

Ver: Mar 24 2006 (20:08:02)
Boot Push 0key
System Push 0key
SubmiconVer 051126
Calibration Check OK

Problem is, none of the buttons seem to respond after this unless I turn the TV off and on again. And there doesn't seem to be any actual menu to change anything.

edit: If I hit the VOL- button on the TV itself, that info goes away and a box that says "C/D - " comes up, but doesn't seem to respond to any inputs.

Might anyone know the code for the HP ID5220? Unfortunately, BruZZi's site only lists the HP LCD and Plasma codes. I guess I can try them, but I'll have to turn off the set and let my lamp cool first (so unplugging it when it's on doesn't ____ the lamp up!)

I'd like to clean up the overscan a bit, or at least get everything centered.

Thanks in advance! :)

Can someone PM me and let me know how to get into the service menu, which buttons navigate and if the color decoder codes are the same as my Sony direct view?

I was unable to find it in the list supplied in the first page on this list.

I'm trying desperately to find a way to disable the overscan feature of this TV. When connected to a computer with a HDMI cable the windows screen gets cut off arround the edges by about 3%.

If you need any further details please let me know.

P.S. The reason I need to get into service mode is that whenever I put my xbox 360 into 720p or 1080p, it stretches the picture top to bottom (since it's a 4:3 tv), so I was hoping maybe I could fix it through tha, so any alternatives are also awesome (: Thank you!

Thanks, it works. I was hoping there would be additional settings for geometry but it's pretty much color related only. Specifically I have a hardware device that outputs a 640x480@60Hz VGA signal which looks pretty bad on this 1280x1024 monitor. Even though 1280 is 2x640 there is a horizontal blur in some places regardless of how much I tweak the clock, focus etc. and vertically it appeas the Acer is determined to strech the 480 lines to the full 1024 instead of 960 :(

If anyone knows of a current LCD that would do a really good job display a 640x480 signal please let me know.

Thanks again BruZZi. I'll be sending you a PM with the combination for the AL2216 that we just found based on your link.

Any chance you guys have the service manual for LG series 30 TVs? I really want to disable the backlight dimming feature as it's retardedly implemented.

Showing a night sky with clouds moving in front of the moon the thing can't decide what to do and switches the lamp up and down every second or so. Seriously even the simplistic way of detecting when to dim down the lamp would work fine if only they had made it so it adjusted gradually over 3-4 seconds but no, the thing jumps all the way down or up in one single step.

It's an 22LG30, I can get into the service menu by holding the MENU keys both on the TV and remote. I am willing to try and solve this by cutting some wires inside if it comes to it.

If I could get some help in re-accessing the service menu on my Westinghouse LTV-32w6 that would be awesome. I got into it once before and changed some stuff on accident.
