it's made by someone else, and the LG service menu procedure doesn't work.

I was dumb enough to enter "Aging" mode on a Pioneer PDP-5016HD tv, which seems to have the same mechanism to enter the service menu as the PDP-4214HD. I'm trying to figure out how to put the tv back in its regular mode. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a small bit of information on the service menu for a Panny PZ850U. I know how to enter it but I just need to know how to adjust the vertical and horizontal position of the picture. It is only possible to adjust the V/H position from the regular menus when using the VGA input. I'm using an HDMI input.

I 'm looking for the service menu code for Zenith L15V36

I actually just took apart my remote to give that a shot, though my remote looks a little different. I found a trace on the remot that does *something* but it's not really a service menu.

Using this remote:

There are two "buttons" in the gap on the top right, below "Input Select" and above "Audio." They've got contacts on the underside, but the rubber is shaved down so it can fit under the cover.

Anyway, when I press the lower of the two, the one closest to audio, I get some text on the top left corner:

Problem is, none of the buttons seem to respond after this unless I turn the TV off and on again. And there doesn't seem to be any actual menu to change anything.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but first thing you need to do is repair the pincushion circuit problem that is causing it, then adjust the geometry if it needs it after the circuit is operating properly.

I think you are probably out of luck with this. There have been numerous attempts to find service codes for these Westinghouse models but as far as I know, no one has been able to find one.

I am trying to find out how to access the service menu on a Vizio VO402E. I am also looking for a service manual, but nobody seems to carry it.

Service menu successfully accessed for Samsung plasma PN63B500:

With power off, hit "Mute, 1, 8 ,2 , Power". To exit, turn off the display.

Caveat: This happened to me, and also posted in the owner's thread. Exiting the service menu will reset all user adjustments!

Same code for Samsung DLP, my model was HL-R6768W. However, the user adjustments were never changed when the service menu was accessed.

Contacted Sharp and they said that it must be taken to a service center to adjust the convergence. I told him that in the user manual it even MENTIONS that it's digitally adjustable on the Service Menu. Still, he would not relent and tell me the way to access it.

So, would you please oh please give me the service menu access instructions?

I have a DSE (http://www.dse.com.au/) branded 4:3 CRT purchased 4 or 5 years ago, model number G5160. Probably made in China. I think service is contracted to AWA (http://ernie.awa.com.au/Internet-Home/default.aspx).

I would like to adjust the width and height of the picture (get rid of overscan or even make it 16:9) but not surprisingly the user menu doesn't offer that feature :)

Now our TV shows in a very strange color and the "black borders" when watching movies on super wide screen are now purple... :confused:IMPOSSIBLE to re-enter this hidden menu to fix this... and the normal menu for colors does not correct that problem... It needs to be factory reset ... or played with the proper color / gamma / saturation / calibration, etc.... only in that hidden secret service menu apparently.. And V7's tech support have no idea how to do this, they are not so "informed" about their very own products.

Hello. I've searched the thread and elsewhere and tried previous codes, but cannot find a way to access the service menu for these similar Insignia models .

I humbly request a way to access the service menu on these two Insignia LCD HDTVs. NS-L37Q-10A or the 42" version.

The color decoding seems quite off for yellow/green and really bugs me. It seems to be ok on some of these sets, but others I've seen in the store have the same issue.

You might be able to get into it by powering on the set then pressing "Menu 991" that works on some Viewsonics, but you need to know what you changed to set it back. To get out of that menu power Off and back On. Going by memory here. I no longer own a Viewsonic product.

I am not sure I do not own the G10 or S10, but try it, and if it comes up, then it works! :-) Do a quick forum search and you can find your answer. As I mentioned before, be careful, take lots of pics, or you will forever regret it, literally. There is lots of other setting in there other than picture settings which would really mess up things.

My Sony KDS-50A2000 (SXRD) has always clipped the four edges of the raster. I've exhausted the rather limited ability of the standard setup menus to remedy this (e.g., vertical size). Does anyone have the service access codes? I'm hoping the service menu will expose the proper setup menus.

For the vga connector, there might be resolution/overscan issues, not sure. Make sure you use an app that displays it in full screen, with nothing else showing - no scrollbars, no titlebars, no captions, nothing else, only the black and white boxes visible (I used irfanview, with the captions turned off).



My ADC targets:

AV: low 18, high 220, delta 1
Comp: 16, 235, 1
PC: 2, 235, 1
2nd: 1, 235, 1

Not sure if those maybe vary with firmware and batch (and even region, this is a UK set), but should get you vaguely close. From then on you can check with a colorimeter, maybe fiddle the ADC result to get it in the right ballpark.

Thanks, Ed. Perhaps there's something obvious that I'm missing. I tried your suggestion, which resulted in "something" happening. But I didn't see any new setup functions when I went into the menus. Instead, upon power-up, the tv displayed the following green text overlayed on the program material....

VERSION 0 SERVICE
VER_DISP_ENBL 0 TV MICRO

This text wasn't inself "cursorable". When I went into the menus while the overlay was visible I saw no change in the available screen setup functions. Any thoughts?

Yes. Bruzzi used to maintain a pretty comprehensive list of service menu codes and there was a website that listed them but it is no longer available. Bruzzi has not been active on AVS for about seven months now, I'm not sure what happened to him.

Raymond, I don't know if this will get you into the service menu of your pz85 or not but here is how I access the service menu for my pz800.

Enter the service menu by taking the volume all the way to zero, release, then hold the VOL- button on the front of the TV set and press INFO three times on the remote. Release the VOL- button on the front of the TV set, and after a couple of seconds the service menu will be displayed in the top left corner of the screen.

To exit the service menu, either press Power on the remote or on the front panel of the TV set.

Entering the service menu can be very dangerous so make sure you write down all values or use a camera to take pictures of the screens before you make any changes. Good luck.

White balance service menu access for a Panasonic 50px50u Plasma from 2005.

In 2005 Panasonic moved the white balance area of the service menu requiring the use of an older special remote to gain access. What remote works and what is the button sequence??

I have been searching for access to the service menu for this TV for several weeks now. I can't find anything that works.

I stumbled upon a code for another model. It said switch to TV, lower the Volume to 0, press Mute, and punch in 9876 on the remote, but all it seems to do is put the TV on channel 6 because the TV only takes 3-digit channel numbers. When I push 6 the other digit disappear and it jumps to channel 6. Please help me if possible.

Sorry if there's a better place for this (and if so, please direct me; I did cross-post into the official 36XS955 thread which is all but dead).

I went ahead and fixed some significant overscan on my 36XS955 for (what I thought was only) the HDMI input, #7. Turns out my changes propagated to all the inputs, so now my PS2/Xbox/Wii, which are running through Component into Input #6 are suffering extreme underscan.

I thought Service Menu changes were input-specific? Does that not apply to geometry adjustments, at least on this set? If not, that's complete balls. Input #7 looks SOOOO much better since I fixed the horrid overscan (must've been at least 10%). I refuse to go back in order to eliminate the significant underscan of Input #6.

Okay, I figured it out. I was adjusting MID1 settings which were shared between Input 6 and 7 (and probably the rest). MID2 settings do not affect Input 7, but do affect Input 6. So I tweaked those and now everything looks great.
