Mitsubishi WS 65819

Also, a respectable site for obtaining service manuals would be a great thing to have. Any suggestions?

Why the hell wasn't any of this covered in ISF I and II? We were taught to calibrate with user menu controls, and as I learn and research it, it seems to me there's SO much more functionality in the service menu.

Thanks again BruZZi. I'll be sending you a PM with the combination for the AL2216 that we just found based on your link.

You're Very Welcome ArjanPSD. :)

I'm glad the code posted in the hardforum.com also works
for your AL1916/s displays. But too bad it didn't do any good for you. :(

And thanks for the access code for the AL2216 Model.

I need this access code for the Acer AL2216. How come you guys PM each other instead of just posting the code in the thread??? Please let me know the code, thanks!

Mitsubishi iris service code for 2007 DLP's better known as "Dark Detailer".
There is a specific code (4 digit number) to turn the iris function off (only temporary). Anyone know what it is? This is NOT in the 2470 or 2457 menus.

I have the access code for my Panasonic TX-L19X10B, at least I think it's the right code, but when I try and save the settings it's not working. Basically chaning the value turns it to red then when I press ok as instructed, both values (is the default and the one I change it to) are black. I've managed to get it to change to the chosen values and stay there whilst in the service menu by using the coloured buttons on the remote but when I exit or switch on again the settings are back at default. Please help.

I have an APEX LD4088 LCD TV. I need to get into the service menu, which for this model just turns on the Advanced menu with extra options.

I originally had a problem and after searching i was able to get in there and fix it. I don't remember what I did but I can't seem to get back in there.

I've tried setting the volume to 0, pressing mute on the remote and menu on the tv, it does nothing though.

Another code said to press video on the tv but i don't have a video button.

Please help!

if I could just turn off the adaptive luma and noise reduction when using hdmi inputs in "custom mode" or allow me to adjust contrast/brightness in "game mode" I'd be happy.. but no... why don't they let me do this?

I have 2 older TVs that I was thinking about getting rid of, but I wanted to give them one last shot at fixing.

Panasonic TC-P42U2
Sony KDL-32XBR4

I wanted to get into the service menu to try some more adjustments, and to find some tweaks here.

Panasonic is almost unbearably awful, and the Sony- if it goes back in its place- I would like to fine tune.

Panasonic seems too bright on contrast and gets block and "sparkly* on close ups..... but I have searched for a few hours and could not find a way to access the service menu-

If you have either, can you send me a link or an instruction set.

Thanks-

Edit: I wanted to add a better description of what the image looks like- Whenever a PC video card is crapping out or resorts to low resolution/low color density mode- the color gradient gets horrible because it's unable to reproduce all the shades in between at brighter levels-----
that's what my Panasonic looks like!!

Hey guys need some help, according to the service manual of my TV.
The Sharp Aquos LC30HV2U

I should be able to enter the service menu by doing the following,

Using the system cable, properly connect the LCD Display Unit and the AVC System. Turn ON the power while holding down the INPUT and VOL DOWN buttons located the LCD Display Unit.

But for some reason while doing the above, the tv just starts up normally and I have no service menu or small K as I read here on the forum other sharp tv's have.

Does anyone have a suggestion on why I can't seem to be able to enter the menu ?
Hope someone can help!

Don't know about your particular model but many Dynex SMs can be accessed by pushing the remote control input button followed by 2,5,8,0. It works on mine.

no luck :(
thanks anyways

edit:
Just found out the code for my model!

Despite having run across it on numerous occasions i simply didn't have the good sense to press the ENTER button right after!

For anyone else who wants to get into the SM of their DX-xxL260A12
all you have to do is:

Press Menu
Press 1,9,9,9
Press ENTER
Voila!

Sony 55NX810 please.

Thanks in advance.
The sequence I've seen for other Sony's seems to work for the 55NX810:

Display, 5, vol+, power on

I did notice you have to be pretty quick. Once you get in, I've read something about 1/4 to move around and 3/6 to change values. 2/5 seemed to do something else. Beyond that, I can't figure out anything. :-(

I know how to access the Service Menu of my PS51D550 but I have some SM related questions.

The Movie mode White Point settings are grayed out when the TV is in the default Dynamic mode (it's always resets to Dynamic when I turn on the TV with SM).
I found a trick how to change to Movie mode -> I started to feed it with 3D signal and the default picture mode for 3D is Movie. The Movie WP settings aren't grayed out with 3D signals but I am still unable to change the values.
It seems to be locked or it's because I am in 3D mode. I don't know, but I would know:

- How can I change the picture mode (Dynamic, Standard, Movie) while I am in the SM?
- If it's still locked then how can I unlock the Movie WP settings?

The whole Expert menu is also grayed out. I don't really need that but if somebody know how I can unlock it than don't hesitate to share the knowledge with me. :)

Vizio E550VA, please. I've searched high and low through this forum as well as the Internet in general, and all of the general Vizio model service menu codes (including combinations of the CH+/CH- keys on the side of the tv) don't seem to work. If anybody has the code known to work specifically with the Vizio E550VA (or I'd suspect / hope that any ExxxVA model will use the same code) it would be greatly appreciated.

Cal Day & Cal Night are Samsung modes enabled in the service menu.

I may be using the wrong terminology then... ISF day/night?

Point is I just got calman and equipment. I've been trolling the forums for some detailed info but it's spotty at best. I do not know how to lock modes on a Panasonic and would like to be able to set a day/night for a VT30. I've been allover looking to access codes and found the one that involves pressing the vol button and other key strokes and I've found how to access hotel mode but I've not found how to open and lock the ISF modes.

Any help would be great. I'm very new at this aspect of HT and really want to get very good. Thanks again.

It requires the use of a software program & a PC to access the ISF modes on the VT30. You can purchase either a ControlCAL license to do it, or upgrade your version of CALMan, to a commercial or Pro version.

There is no freebie way to access the ISF modes on the VT30's

To upgrade from the Home/DIY version of CALMan to the Expert version, is $1,295.00

I don't know if you have paid any attention to the monthly emails that Spectracal sends out to their customers or not, but they have had special discount offers in the past. So you may want to email Spectracal/CALMan, and see if they can perhaps offer you any better options price wise.

Going with the ControlCal option is probably the lowest way to go as far as addition cost outlay over what you already have spent, for that you have to contact Turbe at controlcal.com.

Looks like you are having the same problem that is present on D7000 and D8000 NA PDPs, the advanced menu is broken. When '0000' is entered the SM resets but no items are displayed under the advanced tab. There is a way to run the advanced menu using the serial debug port, samygo.tv has more information on these methods for various samsung flavors.

Looking for the access codes for Zenith z50pv220, which, I think, is a re-branded version (with reduced features) of LG 50PV450.
I have tried keeping the "Menu' button on the TV itself, as well as on the remote, (and both at the same too), without any success.

Thanks.

edit: I did find the "Host Diagnostic" screen to investigate the signal quality of a problem channel.
1) Place Television on the digital channel that may be showing problem.
2) Bring up the Menu. Highlight “CHANNEL”. Press “ENTER” on the remote.
4) Press the (1) Key 5 to 8 times.
The Host Diagnostics screen appears.

Over the Air: 8VSB Above 20 is good
Cable Digital: QAM64 (Above 24 is good)

I got tinkering around with the service menu as provided in an earlier post for a Dynex 32" LED TV Model: dynex DX-32E150A11

Press Menu
Press 1,9,9,9
Press ENTER

Using the above procedure, I was able to access the SM and for some weird reason I homed right in and selected the arrow right for "burn in mode" function in the SM . Stupid me, the TV is now locked into the VGA mode and now I can no longer access the regular menu or SM on the TV and no other functions work on either the TV bottons or remote....I cannot even power the TV off unless I pull the plug.....I left it unplugged for about 15 mins hoping that would "reset" but it didn't work .I am using as a computer monitor....does anyone know how I can either re-access the service menu to turn this "burn in mode" off? Or how I could reset this TV to factory setting?

Have I permanently ruined this TV ?

Any help would be appreciated. . . Thanks

This is exactly why you should be very carful in service menus and only play with what you know... Try putting a 100% white field up on the screen and see if that switches the TV back. If not you may be out $300, just be happy this didn't happen on a VT30 or D8000

Hi m-heat

I know, I am embarrassed by this situation....I have always been bold in updating firmware for my cell phones, DVD and Blu-ray players and other electronics.....when I stumbled upon the SM access code, I thought I would take a peek in the SM and voila, I picked the option of death!! LOL

I'm not sure what you mean by putting a 100% "white field up on the screen? Could you explain how I would do that? No buttons or input switching options work on the TV...I can only use as a monitor on my computer as that was the mode I was in when I made this stupid move! The only way I can turn this TV off is by unplugging it. I left it unplugged for over 24 hours and that didn't "reboot" it.

Appreciate any more advice or guidance you or anyone else could offer.

Thanks so much! :)

Thanks for the speedy reply m-heat......unfortunately, I'm still not following? I don't have Photoshop...not sure how I could create a white image using my screen resolution with white like 235?

Is your thought that the menu is coming up when I try to access it, but I can't see it? SOrry, I'm just not clear how I can do this? Is there any way you could send me a "white screen image" if I PM you with my email?

Some TVs need a test pattern sent to them to exit out of some features in the service menu. Samsung is a good example of this.

Since you went into burn in I felt a full white screen might work.

When I say 235 I mean that computer monitors show black to white in steps from 0-255 and TVs are supposed to show from 16-235 buy putting a full white screen up you may trick the TV into exiting the burn in test.

Thanks m-heat......I have the Dynex TV connected as a monitor to my desktop computer.....and oddly, now that I have accidentally set the TV to "burn in mode" in the SM, instead of the monitor shutting down after prescribed time and going to a blank black screen and eventually shutting off, it oddly goes from a full green to a red screen to a blue screen to a white screen and then finally to a black screen and repeats the color sequence all over indefinitely staying on each color for about 5 seconds. I tried to access the menu while it was on the white screen but it didn't seem to work.....

I know sometimes if you unplug the TV and press and hold a certain button as you are plugging it back in, depending on the brand, it will re-set to factory shipped settings.

I have certainly learned a valuable lesson here...never ever modify anything in the SM unless you know what you are doing ! :o:o:o:o

Thanks again m-heat for your courtesy in attempting to help me out. If you can think of anything else, I'm all ears.

P.S. I am currently in communication with the Dynex support via email. They don't understand the issue...they claim there is no "burn in mode" in the menu. I did confess to Dynex support that I went into the SM and they still can't understand what I did. I am trying to get the original factory firmware for this Dynex DX-32E150A11 32" LED but they claim it will not resolve the issue. They claim that I can unplug for 10 minutes then when plugging in again, press and hold the power button for about 40 seconds then release and that should "recycle" or reset the TV......this does not work.....as soon as I plug it in again, the TV immediately comes right on without any button or remote intervention from the user!

mheat,

I just spoke with LG customer service who informed me that the 42 and 47 inch versions of their lv4400 series don't allow TruMotion to be turned off. I get motion sick from time to time and found it happening to me during Saving Private Ryan's beach scene. The CS rep mentioned that this TruMotion is likely able to be disabled within the service menu, but that he didn't know (nor would be allowed) to help me access it. He agreed that turning TruMotion off would be beneficial. These are the best led LG tv's for those of us not interested in internet and on a seriously tight budget. The lg 55lv4400 does have an option allowing TruMotion to be turned off.

The CS rep guided me toward the LK 520 series and mentioned it was similar...more expensive, more inputs, better contrast ratio, and TruMotion can be turned off in the 42 and 47 inch models.

I'm wanting to go with the lg 47lv4400, but want to hit the service menu to turn off TruMotion. Might this be able to be done?

Your time is much appreciated.

TruMotion can be turned off, sort of. The LG will still take the 60fps and double it (showing each frame twice) to mimic 120fps. All turning TruMotion off will do is eliminate or greatly reduce the SOE. And you should never get into the service menu unless you know exactly what you are doing. It's very easy to brick your set and if you do, LG won't help you at all. That's probably why the CS was reluctant to lead you in that direction. I have the 47LD520.

I accessed the service menu via the hold menu on remote + on TV trick for my LG M3701C, I saw the "overscan" option under "system control 2" which was at 5% by default. I was so happy that I found the option, and set it to the lowest which was 1% but it did not do anything for my HDMI image overscan problem (using a PS3).

Anyone know how I can fix the overscan issue for this old monitor? Also, what are the ideal image settings for this?
Under system options there is also the "system" setting which is at "4-sys" by default. It changes the colour a bit, should this be left alone or should I switch it to NTSC (one of the available options) since I am in North America.

This overscan problem has really bothered me, so I am really hoping to fix it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Under the system control option are these menu options:

System: 4-SYS
Overscan: 1% (was 5%, doesn't appear to do anything for my HDMI image)
RS-232 Host: PC (no idea what this is)
Baud Rate: 9600bps
RS-232 Select: New
AGC-L: 243 140
Audio Delay: 0

Also, is there another service menu available? When I held down the menu button, a password input box appeared and I tried entering 0000 but it was incorrect. Maybe that is just for the parental controls or something. :/

Hi all! I want to access the service menu on the 42LW5300 with a Monster AVL 300 remote. Is this possible? I've read all related websites and still have no clue since I do not understand remote language. I can go out and buy another remote but that would defeat the purpose of an all in one universal remote. Help is greatly appreciated!

The SM really doesn't have much info on calibration sorry. It's more a repair manual. That being said you can find it for sale via some googling.

Need codes to access further in the SM for "colormapping".
When I enter colormapping there are no values or settings. I believe there is still a higher "FACTORY" code. Any help is appreciated!!

The 4400 does not have white balance adjustments even in the service menu. All you can do is user panel adjustments.

The only options for calibration on this TV are user panel adjustments of contrast and brightness/black levels. The white balance controls in the service menu are not accessible/changeable. Even with an ISF calibration they are not able to adjust that. I am an ISF certified calibrator. I'm sorry to give you bad news.

Looking for service menu code for a Polaroid TLAC-02255.

I'm trying to turn off the horrible HDMI picture processing, which seemingly can't be done in the regular menus. I've tried all the other Polaroid codes in this thread.
