I've acquired an NEC LT260 projector from a relative, and want a simple, easy to use screen for a living room approx. 15' x 20'. My current TV is a 46" Mits HDTV, which sits in one corner of the room and I still plan to use for routine satellite viewing. I'm trying out the projector with a borrowed 72" tripod screen, and the picture quality is outstanding with DVD's. The tripod is difficult to position though -- sticks out into the room too far -- and too easy to trip over.

I saw these Elitech screens at http://www.av-products.com/screen%20p4.htm

I''m thinking that either the 35"x 63" or 41"x73" Floor Projection Screen could sit on the floor right in front of the TV when not in use, then pull up in front of the TV for occasional movies or HD viewing. I like the idea of it being in place and ready to use at any time, but yet relatively unobtrusive. I don't have any WAF to worry about, only have to please myself. :D

Has anyone used Elitech screens? A search of the forum came up with no hits. I'm not terribly fussy, so just decent build quality and functionality are what I'm wondering about.

What about the use of pull-up floor screens in general? The only other ones I found in an internet search were by Draper, and cost twice as much. The living room is high-ceilinged and beamed, so hanging a screen would be very difficult. There's no wall space available to hang a screen on either. I'm retired, so cost is a factor.

Any comments or suggestions would be welcomed.

Just for any future searchers... I found out that the Elitech screens described above are in a plastic case, which sounded rather fragile. Therefore I ended up getting a Draper Piper 77" diagonal floor pull-up screen (aluminum case) I'm very happy with it, it's working great for my room.

Brand spanking newbie here.

Just bought a Elitech FH100 100 inch 16x9 pull-up av-products has in clearance sale now. The case is actually made of aluminum now. Feels really sturdy. Setting up requires some effort because of the size and weight but relatively easy. Flip out the legs and plug in the pole. Adjust the height. Pull up the screen and hang it on the hook on the top of the pole.

This is for an Epson MovieMate 30s. Watched a few movies during the night and it's working great. Much better than the white wall we were using and the portability of both units allows placement flexibility. We can watch the movie in the living/family room during the night by setting it up in front of the plasma TV or use them in the finished basement in daytime.

It's really nice for the price.

Purchasing a 92" Elitech fixed screen to go with my new HD1000U (that was just handed to me from our shipping department!) I will let everybody know what the performance is like, because the price is unbelievable. I wont have the screen for a few days though!! Anybody have one already??? I have not found much info except they are suppose to be the same as the Da-Lite Cinema Contour or the Draper Onyx.

Are they any good?
Does anyone have one?
How about the high contrast gray?
Will it be OK with my AX200 Panasonic?

i have an 84" fixed frame from them; they're very well built [aluminum frame, velvet covered, etc... it's definitely worth it if you're on a budget.
