View Full Version : Toronto Area Stores?
TranceAddict 01-06-06, 09:48 AM I recently moved to Mississauga and have been looking for a 42" HD Plasma for a little while now. The only stores I know of that sell them are the big chains like Futureshop and BestBuy. Are there any smaller shops in the Toronto area that anyone can recomend?
I'm looking in particular for a Panasonic, Pioneer or HP at this point, not looking to spend over 4k Canadian after tax.
Thanks!

Has some of the best selection and usually beats Futureshop by at least $500 on high end screens. Give them a call and talk to Larry the A/V manager.

essogas 01-06-06, 10:37 AM If you really want to go to a good store with knowlegable people, check this store out:
"Sound Designs" They are in the Distillery district in east Toronto in the Goodeman and Worts buildings at Mill and parliment. Highe end store. You won't find crap there.
David_Hanlon 01-06-06, 10:40 AM Canadian Sound in Brampton. They have very good customer service. They've looked after me well.
They're on Queen St. a few blocks west of 410.
TranceAddict 01-06-06, 12:45 PM Thanks! I'll do some looking this weekend!
Do any of these offer the commercial models?

Highly recommended. Very professional not like those FS/BB monkeys. Excellent prices too. I bought the Panasonic 42px50 for $800 less than FS/BB when the TV first came out.
If you phone them asking about prices they may interogate you to make sure you're not a FS/BB employee. Tell them you were refered to them by people from an AV forum. Steve is the guy to talk to.
They don't have commercial models. You'd probably have to buy on-line.
I live in Mississauga and shipping from Scarborough was only $50.

Ghost999 01-06-06, 02:34 PM The problem of the small stores that they don't have good return policy compared to FS/BB.
Wasabi Shiba 01-06-06, 03:16 PM Brack Electronics on Wellington and Church has Fujitsu Plasmas.
Ross in Toronto 01-06-06, 07:43 PM If you're gonna be downtown: Kromer Radio at Bathurst & College.
As for me, I picked up my Pio Elite (and receiver & DVD) at Audio Excellence on Yorkville Ave. (just west of Bay St.). Bay Bloor Radio is a short walk to the south.
North of the GTA, there's also Lipton's in Newmarket / Aurora.
I strongly recommend you get out to see as many different panels as possible and decide which display looks best to your eyes.
