View Full Version : ***Bitstream Animation's Custom Intros SNEAK PEAK ***
Custom Intros 02-02-06, 03:57 PM Following the success of CeRT hasn't been easy, and though we planned on success, we didn't know just how big CeRT would become. We're working hard on the next releases for our intros with some new faces and some new changes. Best of all, through your emails, we know you're waiting for more!
So in that light, here's a teaser of another intro we have in the works. Can't say a release date yet but it will be part of the next big revolution of DVD (hint hint).
******CONTEST *******
This home theater is actually based off of a certain member's actual theater. The first person to correctly guess the inspirational theater will receive a free copy upon release. All submissions must be through email.
Email me at sales@customintros.com to participate.

MINE!
I only wish. Looks good Richard.
I like the poster of CeRT on the right side. Does it say "Enjoy" under it?
Custom Intros 02-02-06, 04:28 PM Yes it does. It was a concept poster we were working on for the intro and someone suggesed we sell it.
Richard
1st Cav 02-02-06, 06:18 PM I love the look of it already!! I can't believe that you're doing this to me though :( , after I JUST told my wife last night that I was going to purchase a HT intro for our future HT (we've got about 3 weeks until we close on the new house). She was all fired up for it when I showed her the demo on your website and then you go and pull this! And to top it all off, you're going to make us wait until the "format war" is over?
Seriously though, that teaser looks great. I guess i'll go ahead and buy the current Cert intro and just buy this one too when it comes out. Now I have to think of an excuse to spend this much money on 2 dvds (they're necessary expenses to me but my wife thinks otherwise).
rboster 02-02-06, 07:07 PM Com'on 1st Cav...everyone knows you need at least two custome intros to have a true HT. ;) Justing kidding....
But, I know I use a couple of different ones and rotate them in and out as people come over. Sometimes I'll play the retro portion of the bitstream intro and other times the Cert intro. I also have a matrix intro someone made for me that I rotate in too. It is nice to have several to choose from.
I can't wait to see what Bitstream has in store for us!!!!!
Ron
wow!!!!
I am excited! Richard, it looks terrific! I can't wait to see the finished product. That'll be on my list...
controller2k 02-03-06, 12:00 AM I can't wait. :) I have a custom CeRT one now, as well as a CustomHT one with an announcer. I rotate them for different audiences. Sometimes you want a quick opening to wow people, and CeRT does this well. I am sure the new one will be amazing as well!
Huh...I can't see the link. Will have to try from home tonight. I love the DTS ES one I have now.
Custom Intros 02-03-06, 10:21 AM volley, bit of a server hiccup this morning. It's up again, though.
Now, imagine walking into any store to buy your DVDs and because you've purchased movies from tha studio before, they give you a discount. Doesn't happen does it? It will.
We're going to institute "Collection Pricing" which means if you're an enhusiast now, it'll be easy to be an enthusiast later.
And to date, no one has any guesses as to who's theater was the inspiration. 1 free intro still up for grabs.
Richard
flyNAVY 02-03-06, 12:43 PM Ok, I've had it with not being able to come up with a theater name!!! I've gotta get me a CERT intro!!! And this next one looks like it's gonna be a must have!!!
That sure was a tease Richard. But do we really have to wait for the format war to take it's toll before we see this?
1st Cav 02-03-06, 02:33 PM Com'on 1st Cav...everyone knows you need at least two custome intros to have a true HT. ;) Justing kidding....

Ron
Yeah you're right Rbolster, having two intros is must for all true HT enthusiasts! (thats what i'm telling the other half)
Honestly, I don't care if I have to buy both, from what i've seen and read the Cert intro is top notch and one of best bangs for your buck. So I can only imagine that this one will be even better. I'm curious about your Matrix intro, it sounds like a pretty slick concept, any way I can take a peek?
But do we really have to wait for the format war to take it's toll before we see this?
I REALLY hope not :(
1st Cav 02-03-06, 02:56 PM Richard, will you be offering some kind of AVS pricing with the current Cert or new intro? I will be placing my order as soon as this information is disclosed.
rboster 02-03-06, 06:16 PM The matrix intro was done by a fellow member. I don't have his member name or email address anymore. Basically, it was the matrix type text green against a black background that runs across the screen to say things like, turn off your cell phones etc. In the end, a green dots come raining down to form Boster Home Theater's Feature Presentation. The music is techno. It's a very nice intro.
What I love about bitstream as several of you mentioned is the prof. look of the intro. Some have asked if I have a contact at AMC theaters (HQ here in KC) or did someone in the "industry" do this for me. It's one of those items that the average person doesn't know is available to them and would never think of getting one for their HT set up. Besides the room, it brings the biggest wow....and is by far the best bang for the "wow factor" buck.
Ron
Custom Intros 02-03-06, 06:21 PM 1st Cav, there is currently avsforum member pricing which is below retail. And the same will go for the new one. Go to www.customintros.com/avsforum and you'll get the avsforum member pricing.
The new intro is going to be done about the same time as the releases for Blu-ray and HD-DVD. It's not that we're waiting for a winner in the format war, it's just coincidental and we have to make sure to do everything to make sure we can be on the cutting edge. Skywalker Sound has us slated for the upcoming months so we'll be doing the audio at that point. Once we test and add on all the extras to the discs, we'll be ready. Oh just about the time for the launches of the upcoming formats.
Go ahead and enjoy CeRT now, and you'll have more to enjoy later. I look forward to making your intros.
Richard

I agree 110%, which is exactly why I have chosen Bitstream over the Cinemawise intro. I'd rather have "x" amount of time dedicated to the actual intro minus the games and other novelties that mean little to me. To top it all off, the Cert intro reminds me of a Pixar type animation....although the new one looks even more "Pixarish".
1st Cav, there is currently avsforum member pricing which is below retail. And the same will go for the new one. Go to www.customintros.com/avsforum and you'll get the avsforum member pricing.

product.

I will, and thank you for responding in such a timely fashion. I already feel comfortable about the level of customer service that will be provided.
Custom Intros 02-04-06, 04:02 PM Well ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Acutally we have two! The winning entries were so close I decided to award two free intros.
The actual theater owner of this intro (the colors have been changed to protect the innocent) -
Alan Gouger
Oh yeah, he gets a free one too.
Congratulations to Bob (volley) and Steve (sure of hisname on here). I'll be cutting their DVD in half for them to share. Ha ha, I kid.
When it's ready, you guys will be the first to know.
Richard
Oh, now I get the color comment! :o Geesh, I'm not always with it!
Do we have a name to refer to this intro as? Maybe a name of the new character?
Custom Intros 02-04-06, 10:21 PM Good questions. The character's name is Tiko. But I won't say anything more about him, there are a few surprises.
At Bitstream, we have fun making intros that fit into the world of Home Theater and I'm sure we can all appreciate this one.
The best way to describe this intro is by asking a question.
Ever have a wonky remote that just doesn't want to work?
That's all I can say for now.
Richard
HeyNow^ 02-04-06, 10:26 PM Richard,
Why the suspense? I guess I don't understand the " That's all I can say for now"
Richard,
You are SUCH a tease!!! ;)
Custom Intros 02-05-06, 12:54 PM Because I don't want to ruin all the surprises about this character and animation that will be much better seeing it for the first time. Though since many people have asked for something, I figured I'd share as much as I could.
There are also some things we're still working on yet, but I will share more the closer we come to releasing it. And it seems people enjoyed the contest (I'm sure the winners did) so it was aimed at fun.
Richard

Richard
lawdawg 02-05-06, 08:32 PM That teaser pic looks pretty sweet. But have you guys given up on the "Day the Earth Stood Still" retro one you gave us a glimpse of, awhile back? I really liked that idea.
Custom Intros 02-05-06, 10:31 PM lawdawg,
No we haven't, it's in there somewhere...
Richard
Anyone else interested in a 2.35:1 intro? I switched into a Panasonic AE900 and it doesn't have a motorized zoom like my Sony did. So when I do a 2.35:1 movie I would have to get up an zoom the image after the intro. I have a 2.35:1 screen with masking system. It would be nice to set up my front end to play a 16x9 intro with 16x9 films and 2.35 intro with cinema wide films. Is this just me or is there interest with others?
Custom Intros 02-19-06, 11:07 PM Interesting. We've thought about it. Perhaps the 4th one we have in the works would fit perfectly. In fact I think it would.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could choose 1.78:1 or 2:35 to 1?
I'll make a note and see what we can do.
Richard
Mr.Poindexter 02-20-06, 12:49 PM I have 2.35:1 and it is the recommended aspect ratio for films in theaters I design.

HeyNow^ 03-07-06, 06:32 PM (puffhuffpuff ahhh...whoo..)
It's about time you spilled the beans...
While I have no doubt that some high def standard will be in my future, do you envision the high def 7.1 (freakin awesome by the way :D) having the stadard def DVD version on it as well? I just question the future of HD right now. Doesn't seem like anyone is completely sure what will happen and when for the HTPC.
Custom Intros 03-07-06, 09:34 PM volley,
Right now the standards and licensing rules for the discs mean they will each be stand alone versions for SD and HD.
You're right there are conflicting reports of who's got what and what requires what.
Needless to say we're working with companies to make sure our discs are some of the first material out there in both Hi-definition video and audio.
Richard
Needless to say we're working with companies to make sure our discs are some of the first material out there in both Hi-definition video and audio.
Are you releasing on both new formats, or just one of them?
Custom Intros 03-08-06, 01:30 PM Don't know yet. For now I'm sure we'll get Blu-ray out. A lot depends on what happens over the next two months. I don't want to get into a big war over which is better. Right now, blu-ray works into our pipeline almost seamlessly and it allows for bigger Mbps so it should look fantastic.
Much more than that I can't say because we are working deals with both formats.
Custom Intros 03-10-06, 05:23 PM For all of you whom purchased from us, All custom orders as of 3/7 have been shipped. All standard orders as of today have been shipped.
Thanks for making this Powerbuy a success so far!
Richard
pcdoctor 03-11-06, 05:46 PM Do you know when this intro will be ready? Do you think it will be ready by July?
Custom Intros 03-14-06, 04:31 PM pcdoctor,
It should be yes. We're waiting on some licensed content so whenever we get the yes or no, we can move on.
Richard
Hi Richard
Received my copy of your DVD the other day and finally had a chance to load it up on my 6 or 7 year old Toshiba DVD player, and couldn't get it to work. The player kept saying disk error. Took the dvd upstairs and ran it in my cheap $39 Walmart DVD player and it worked fine. Any suggestions?
By the way, when I loaded the player upstairs, which is just run through the TV in the bedroom, I guess I had the volume a little loud and when it started to play it sounded terrific, even without stereo speakers. Unfortunately I had my 2 year old twins with me and one went screaming from the room and the other little guy was in need of a new diaper several minutes later. An hour later I still had to keep telling them the robot had gone to bed.
Hope it doesn't have the same effect on guests when they first hear it in the new theatre :)

The old Toshiba may not be compatible with DVD-R discs. Check the manual if you still have it.
Custom Intros 03-23-06, 05:27 PM JoshZ is on the mark. That's usually the problem people run in to. A DVD player that old will likely not play DVD-R. Great reason to upgrade though.
Thank you for the comments regarding audio. What's been fun, until YOUR KIDS ruined it, is that most children love CeRT and mimick his movements on screen. Just kidding about your kids.
We'll actually have soundtrack music created for the next intros.
Richard
Thanks guys. I'm sure you're right about the old player , which will be replaced when I finish the basement theatre. And I'm also sure the kids will grow to love the robot as well!! Can hardly wait to see the intro as it's meant to be played so I think I'll switch the bedroom and family room dvd players tonight.
suffolk112000 03-24-06, 11:21 AM 7.1 huh... sounds cool. I'll be waiting. :)
Craig
I have a question. I am going to order the custom intro but don't want any repeats. So if I type "Welcome to Jeff & Kim's Home Theatre..." I won't have "Welcome to our Welcome to Jeff & Kim's.." Does this make seance? Also can I pay via Paypal or is it CC only? just wondering. Yes I am a newb but I learn fast :D
Cheers,
Jeff
Custom Intros 03-24-06, 02:19 PM We accept paypal. You can choose it as a payment choice at checkout. you will not have duplicates. Some people have theaters that are just Welcome to and some have Welcome to the. I just say we give you that so you don't have to worry about the spacing if you're close to 55 characters. The spot at which you put them in isn't smart enough to figure out what words you're typing, just how many characters have been typed.
In the notes section of the checkout you can write it exaclty how you want it, but just put what you want in between that in the space provided.
Look forward to your order.
Richard
Thank you Richard. I'm kind of stumpped as to what to write :o Can someone post examples?

OK so in the custom message box I would type
"The Luxurious Home Theatre
Presented by Jeff & Kim"
Then during check out in the note section I would type it this way?
"Welcome to…
The Luxurious Home Theatre
Presented by Jeff & Kim
Enjoy the Show!"
Is this correct? just want to make sure I'm doing this the right way.
Cheers,
Jeff
Custom Intros 03-24-06, 10:59 PM That is correct. And since you've typed it here I already know what you want.
Richard
OK after discussing it over with my wife we decided not to have the "family name" thing. So we went with something that is close to both of our hearts/interests. A Lord of the Rings theme. this is what we chose...

I'll be ordering today.

Redhouse 03-25-06, 07:25 PM I got the CeRT intro with the special AVS price and it came in two days. The intro is awesome, sound and video is really good and the kids love CeRT. I really wanted the DVD, so I could have the "Let's all go to the lobby" which really brings back some memories. The Intro is well worth it, much better than any other Intro I have picked up.
I can't wait for the next one.

flyNAVY 03-30-06, 10:50 AM If anyone is holding back, DON'T! This has got to be the greatest kept secret on the web for a custom (or standard) home theater intro. Sure the online demo looks nice, and the photos even better, but until you see (and HEAR!) the actual DVD on the big screen, you have no idea what you are missing!! The audio alone is out of this world!! Coupled with the fantastic animation, and you've got an intro that you'll be proud to show off! It's also a great way to demo your surround setup.
I can't say enough about this DVD and truly believe that Richard is not charging enough. He's got a gem on his hands, a loyal following, and what's in the works looks amazing!
Bring it on Richard!
Richard, That's great news! I had no idea I would be getting it so quick. :)
Thank you kindly,
Jeff
suffolk112000 03-30-06, 12:26 PM I will be wanting a standard def version of the new intro dvd that is shown in the opening post.
Will we be able to get this in SD and 7.1?
If so... when will it be available in SD?
I am not ready to buy into one of the new formats until a winner is certain. Besides, when I do switch, my plan would be to use my Denon 2910 to queue up the custom into and then watch movies in HD-DVD or BD.
Craig
Custom Intros 03-30-06, 01:22 PM Craig we wil be carrying any new intro in SD and HD. They will be different discs though and 7.1 will not be on the SD disc. Form what I know right now, HD Audio is not allowed on an SD disc. And HD Audio is going to be the one which carries a 7.1 signal under HDMI 1.3. I know you can decode in the DVD player (until HD audio receivers come out for Dolby and DTS) and send to 7 channels, but that's from an HD disc (Hd-DVD and/or Blu-ray).

No 7.1 in SD!! :(
When will the new disc shown on the first post of this thread be available in SD?
Craig
No 7.1 in SD!! :(
The DVD format does not support 7.1 audio. The most it supports is 6.1 (DTS-ES Discrete).
HD-DVD and Blu-Ray both support 7.1 discrete audio.
Custom Intros 03-30-06, 05:06 PM At the same time as Blu-ray or HD-DVD. Hopefully within the next month. Sound design elements are in the works with Skywalker Sound and we're finishing rendering and our list of extras.
I can't give an exact date yet.
Richard
Not sure if this is appropriate or not here, but you guys have to enter the THX contest! Check out their website.
I have been wanting to buy one of these custom intro DVD's for a long time. And the wife finally ok'ed the theater name. I can't wait to get this intro DVD and start amazing friends. A guy I showed at work of just the online example was very impressed and asked, "Wow! How much does that costs." When he saw the price, he couldn't believe it.
Long story short, can't wait to get my disc, keep up the good work, and watch for my second order once the new intro disc is complete.
Thanks!
I had some girlfriends over last night to the Wheel-O-Rama for the first time. CeRT blew them away! I never heard so much gushing and giggling in my life :D
You have my vote for a 2.35:1 intro!!!!!!

Monoplex 04-15-06, 10:22 PM I'm afraid I'm unclear if this DVD has the 1950's robot in it or just CERT. May I ask you to please clear this up for me?
Thanks for your help.
Custom Intros 04-15-06, 11:03 PM Monoplex,
CeRT is its own DVD with animations and extras. The 1950s robot is one of the next intro DVDs we are working on.
Richard
Monoplex 04-16-06, 05:28 PM In the "previews" section, I'm only seeing about 4 minutes worth of content. Is there more content that I'm looking past?
Also, have they been able to extend the time the customized screen is on?
Thanks!
Custom Intros 04-16-06, 08:05 PM Gerry,
There is more content on the disc including DTS and DOBLY trailers along with original storyboards and behind the scenes. The majority of animations which people play are about 4 minutes.
The customized screen at the end is 4 seconds. While some people have mentioned they would like it to be longer, it's fine for the majority of people.
Richard
Monoplex, I got my intro disc last Friday. It is simply amazing! You won't find a better deal on the net. I had high expectations, and the disc exceeded them. You need this disc! It is worth the price by far!
Monoplex 04-18-06, 10:29 PM I'm happy to say that I ordered one yesterday.
So if I understand correctly, there is just the one CERT intro that the preview Quicktime Movie shows? I've seen reference to other intros in this thread, but they are still under construction?
The only preview movie I can see is the main Cert one. Are there others I'm missing?
I have a 7.1 setup with a DD/DTS/THX-Ultra receiver, since your 7.1 audio won't be available on the SD disk, which format do you recommend? 5.1 or 6.1?
Are you thinking of doing any shorter intros? The main one is cool but seems a bit long to show before every movie...maybe a 15-30 second stinger type like Pixar has that shows off the audio but doesn't last too long?
Equusz,
Right now there is only the main CeRT. The others you have seen are teasers for new ones coming out soon. I haven't tried this , but maybe you can edit the main one yourself if you wanted a shortened version, starting with the pitches going around the various speakers (which is right before "Welcome to ....").
Actually, my friends LOVE the entire piece, starting with the Bitstream Animation paint splat/ball, the CeRT concession stand short, then ending with the main CeRT intro.
rlu929s 04-24-06, 09:47 AM THere are other shorts on the disc. You have the Snacks clip which is a quick go get a snack type intro using cert. Doesn't really show audio.
But the bitstream animation does show the sound well. It also comes with the various dolby & DTS intros which are great for showing off SS.
BTW: I would get the 6.1 version since you already have a 7.1 system.
Scott-C 04-24-06, 09:06 PM I really wish I could see the video preview on the Bitstream website, but for some reason, I get audio but no video (just a blank screen).
Nonetheless, as soon as I come up with a HT name, I'm in for one of the CeRT intros!
rlu929s 04-25-06, 09:23 AM You need the lastest version of Quicktime to view it.
Go to apple.com/quicktime to DL it.
Scott-C 04-25-06, 11:21 PM I must have it, because for some reason the video played correctly tonight (and I didn't upgrade Quicktime). After months, I'm finally able to see it!
And now back to our regularly scheduled post...
You guys should enter the THX contest at thx.com. They give you the logo and the "deep note" audio file and you create an ad for it and enter it. I bet you'd win hands down!
Equusz
Custom Intros 04-28-06, 01:03 AM Thanks for the compliments guys!
Just dropping a note to say all new orders will be shipped as of this weekend.
And of course, thanks for your orders.
Richard
Where are we on getting the new intro to market? Are you going to go ahead and launch SD and do HD when the technology is there?
Monoplex 05-03-06, 06:22 PM I bought a CeRT DVD and had it set up as an autostart. In using it, I've found myself wondering what would be involved in setting it up to play the CeRT snacks and then the main CeRT segment automatically?
I have been wondering the same thing as Monoplex. I bought my CeRT intro with autostart and I am having trouble programming the "snacks" or "let's all go to the lobby" segments into my dvd memory. I would like to play these initially, then CeRT, followed by the feature presentation. Would I be better off ordering the next Bitstream intro without the autoplay feature?
Custom Intros 05-03-06, 11:12 PM Monoplex and Kamull, the Animation Reel Play is basically the sequence you've mentioned. There are titles and chapters to each animation so as to the difficulty of programming them on your DVD player, I can't answer. But I'll do some digging to see if there's any reason from our end that you couldn't.
As for the new projects, yes they're on the way. When they are ready, they'll be released. If we have HD in our workflow by then, they'll be day and date for SD and HD. We will not hold out on an SD release though if we don't have HD in our workflow.
Everything we render is at Hi-Def (well, our own original animations) so it basically is in our workflow, but the software for HD-DVD or Blu-ray and HD Audio encoding has to all work out.
We actually have CeRT in DTS-HD audio at their bit for bit encode, but since no receiver can play it yet, we haven't launched it. Not to mention it has to be on either an HD-DVD or Blu-ray disc.
We're working as fast as we can without sacrificing quality.
Richard
Scott-C 05-03-06, 11:36 PM I'm just curious: are most people ordering their DVD with the "autoplay" or "menu" option? I'm leaning towards the "menu" option with the idea that I can build a macro into my remote to control the order of the different chapters.
rlu929s 05-04-06, 10:32 AM I just did the autoplay Cert option myself....that's the best one on the disc. As long as you have another dvd player and video source I could cue one up.
Custom Intros 05-08-06, 10:45 AM Hello all,
This Powerbuy will be ending on 5/31. If you haven't ordered already make sure to do so before the end of this month!
Richard
Ingeborgdot 05-16-06, 12:04 AM I must have missed it. What is the cost?
rlu929s 05-16-06, 09:58 AM Depends...It's $20.00 for Standard version and $40.00 for custom intro.
There's a link to the special pricing in this thread.
Custom Intros 05-16-06, 10:20 AM www.customintros.com/avsforum is the link for
powerbuy pricing.
Thanks,
Richard
Ingeborgdot 05-17-06, 12:23 AM This is cool. Is this the only one that you do? It is great but I was just wondering.
This is cool. Is this the only one that you do? It is great but I was just wondering.
Look at the beginning of this thread. They are in process of getting others out. I am looking forward to adding to my Bitstream Animation collection!
Ingeborgdot 05-17-06, 07:58 AM I see that. When will the new one be out? Thanks.
rlu929s 05-17-06, 10:34 AM I believe Rich keeps saying June/July somewhere around there.
oopsydaisy 05-17-06, 05:20 PM My receiver is fully capable of 6.1, but I haven't purchased a rear center yet. If I buy the 6.1 disc, will it simply dummy down to 5.1 because it doesn't detect the rear center. BTW, I plan to buy a rear center soon, otherwise I'd just buy the 5.1.
rlu929s 05-17-06, 05:54 PM I would get the 6.1...most receivers will just make the rear come out of the surrounds until you have it hooked up as 6.1.
Custom Intros 05-18-06, 01:21 AM If aligned correctly, you can receive a good image of center surround from the left and right rears. I'd go with 6.1 since you are planning to add that to your system.
Yes, June/July for the new one.
Richard
Dan Hitchman 05-18-06, 05:01 PM Cool looking animations... practically PIXAR quality!! I would suggest a few different appropriately "themed" intros on one disc so as to compliment different main genres of movies like:
Drama
Sci-Fi (you're covered there!)
Fantasy
Action/Adventure
Thriller/Suspense
Horror
Family
Comedy
Musical
Nature/Science
Foreign Language
etc.
When you stated 7.1 lossless audio (24/96 PCM res?) my jaw hit the floor! You'd probably be the first in HD to have such a mix! Put a lot of effort into the atmospheric and panning effects across the 8 channels (be sure to include good phantom imaging between channels too) and then shoot it off to Mi Casa studios (they do a lot of audiophile post mixing and re-mastering for DVD... most notably the DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 tracks on the extended editions of The Lord of the Rings and upcoming James Bond re-issues). I bet you they'd be spurred on to do 8 channel re-mixes for HD media from then on!!
How about downloadable .ts files (for a fee of course) of these intros to add to our current collection of HDTV titles on our HTPC? They could be added to the front of each movie with HDTVtoMPEG2. I for one don't play many dvd's now that i've been so spoiled by HDTV. Just an idea.

The current CeRT intro does come with a TS file on the disc.
Dan Hitchman 05-23-06, 10:54 AM Is the .TS file you speak of high def.? Wouldn't that be at a pretty low bitrate seeing as it's on a DVD?
Dan
Iceblade 05-23-06, 10:59 AM Dan,
Remember, the intro is only like 2 minutes long, so even at the theoretical 19MBps height of HD bandwidth, we're only talking like 2.3GB worth of material here. Of course, being an engineer, I'm sure my math is flawed somewhere. :)
Regs,
Jeff
Dan Hitchman 05-23-06, 11:01 AM I'm just thinking of the DVD Video format's limited bitrate of around 9.8 Megabits/sec. for both audio and video, or will a DVD-R or DVD+R with A/V material not have that cap?
Dan
Custom Intros 05-26-06, 01:25 AM Dan,
CeRT looks awesome in Hi-Def, and while capped, still looks better than SD.
Last week to get them at Powerbuy pricing!
Richard
Richard: I was wondering about the downloadable option as well. That would be a good solution to people who are using their Macs or PC's to play their ripped DVD's. If there was a way for you to save your high-def renders in a full-quality Video_TS file then the software players could play then at full 780p or 1080i, right? I think it's just the DVD medium that's limiting you to 480p? Or am I missing something there?
Alternatively you could send out a data DVD with the high-def files on it. I'd love to play mine at native high-resolution via the software player.
Equusz
jerrodshook 05-30-06, 11:10 PM Richard,
I might pull the trigger on this.... but will the existing intros be included on the next HD disc? If so, wouldn't it be better just to wait and get it then? If not, why?
Thanks!
Custom Intros 05-31-06, 09:59 AM Every disc will most likely have an HD counterpart. CeRT exists as a .ts file on the current intro. It is MPG2 at 1920 by 1080 24/s and can be played. We will look at other distribution methods as have been noted in this thread, but will have to be careful as there are agreements about licensed content and piracy concerns.
The reason I wouldn't wait is because people aren't even sure which format will win out in the hi-def format wars, you can't play hi-def audio in full surround yet (you can play core audio or 2.0 stereo (until HDMI 1.3 is settled and exists in players and receivers). So if you want an intro to show off your system and enjoy, then buy now.
Current customers will always receive a discount on future purchases so you'll also have better pricing should you upgrade when we do have a full HD version available.
It also is the last day of the Powerbuy, so there's another reason.
Thanks!
Richard
you can't play hi-def audio in full surround yet (you can play core audio or 2.0 stereo (until HDMI 1.3 is settled and exists in players and receivers).
The HD-DVD players will output Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 over either HDMI or multi-channel analog connections. Only Dolby TrueHD is downmixed to 2-channels on these first-generation players, and DTS-HD will be downsampled to standard DTS quality.
First-gen Blu-Ray players will not support any of these new high-res audio formats.
jerrodshook 05-31-06, 10:50 AM Realized I had a balance on PayPal, so I ordered it. Almost feels like I'm getting it for free!
A quick question though Richard, I ordered the DTS 6.1 version. Any thoughts as to whether it's better or worse the the Dolby EX? I usually here DTS sounds better, but figured you would know best. If the EX version is better in your opinion, I might want to switch them.
Custom Intros 05-31-06, 04:17 PM I myself prefer DTS but that is a personal preference.
Richard
Custom Intros 07-23-06, 07:44 PM Well folks,
Here's an update. Tiko, the DVD intro this thread refers to, is now in post production. That means Skywalker Sound is going to be creating and mixing for the audio and we're finishing up certain elements. Animation is finally finished and rendered.
Sound design will take some time, but we have an agressive time table. When we're close enough I may do a pre-order since quite honestly, the emails we've received from people wanting this have filled my inbox. This way you'll be able to secure a place in line before it goes out for sale to the general World.
Also, for those of you who won the theater contest, we'll put yours in cue. Also, we haven't forgotten our very first customer, Richard Linton who will be enthusiast #1 for Tiko as well.
When it's ready I will send out email notification to all current CeRT owners and there will be an announcement on the forum.
We have even more animation for you on this including the oft requested trivia and slides. It's going to be a top notch disc.
And not to leave without a little taste, here is a slide referencing an animation on Tiko which until this point, has been kept secret. Oops...

Good news, Richard. What's the story on the HD version(s)?
Scott-C 07-23-06, 09:12 PM Excellent news, Richard. I love my CeRT DVD and will happily get in the cue for Tiko. Looking forward to the "current customer release" you mentioned in this thread.
I can't wait!!!! CeRT will now have a buddy!
Thank you Richard!
FoolintheRain 07-24-06, 12:52 AM 2 quick question...ok, maybe 3:
1) Is the CerT intro the same on both the 5.1 and 6.1 discs? i.e. does the little robot and the display only show the 5.1 setup OR on the 6.1 disc are the rear channels shown like the center, FL, FR, etc.
2) Even though you pick a default for either DD-EX or DTS-ES are they both encoded on the disc to manually choose as well?
3) Just got my HD-DVD player...don't suppose you are producing on this format yet? but if so, since I don't use HDMI, can the disc be set up to play TrueHD or DTS-HD as 5.1 thru the analog outs?
Thanks in advance...will be ordering either way. Just wanted some clarification on what to expect.
Custom Intros 07-24-06, 08:53 AM FoolintheRain,
1. The 6.1 animation acounts for the center surround channel both in the animation as CeRT looks at it, and on the hologram screen.
2. Yes, both DTS-ES and Dolby-EX are on he disc. Nice of us, huh?
3. Not yet. We are working on the hi-def formats. CeRT actually does exist in DTS-HD but it hasn't been released yet since it's not an audio format for SD. The release is not imminent though.
Look forward to having you in the family!
Richard
suffolk112000 07-24-06, 12:15 PM I am looking forward to this.
Any idea on pricing?

I am ready to buy a customized HD-DVD version as soon as it is released. I got a lot of good feedback from friends on the SD version, but now I want MORE! Just let me know when to send the check... :D
Custom Intros 07-24-06, 11:05 PM Pricing has yet to be determined. There will be more on this disc than on CeRT, not to mention that there will be more areas of customization.
Regardless, we will are working to keep the cost down below what the other intros on the market are at - $120-$150. We truly believe our DVD intros will continue to offer high entertainment value, unmatched quality and a price point below the norm.
Now if I could just get Skywalker Sound to stop laughing because of certain shorts and get back to work.
More announcements soon.

Hopefully the intro will be out soon!!!

rboster 07-25-06, 05:55 PM We had our first backyard theater event with some friends. I think they were wowed more by Richard's intro than the actual feature film. Looks like they will be topping themselves with the next production...can't wait.
Custom Intros 07-26-06, 10:17 AM Ron,
Well that's certainly encouraging to hear! People are getting more and more into the backyard theater. One of our next intros after Tiko actually references that. Just wait and see!

themidpoint 08-02-06, 02:44 PM Hello, I am a newbie to this forum but what I have read and learned is outstanding what a wealth of information that is helping me with my HT that I am constructing. But to the question at hand I am interested in purchasing your CERT but what I need to know is how or what equipment is needed for this product is it used with a HT PC or do you need a special DVD player to install it in memory for the seamless transition from cert to movie any help would be greatfull. I did read all the post in this thread but there was no reference to this. Thanks Joe...

WOW-always on the cusp of what's hot. To me that is another sign that Richard and his crew are HT hobbyist at heart. They enjoy this hobby as much as us and it shows in their work.
Custom Intros 08-02-06, 08:09 PM oe,
The seamless transition can only occur if you use a HTPC or if you have a multi-disc changer or as some people ven do it, an extra DVD player just for pre-feature entertainment.
Right now, if you have a single DVD player, you just swap out the discs. It's not a limitation of the disc, rather of DVD players not having flash memory dedicated to playing anything before.
What is your current setup?
Richard
Mark Booth 08-02-06, 10:07 PM Joe,
I use VLC on my Mac Mini to play all of my home theater intros, movie trailers, THX trailers and other pre-movie entertainment. Some folks also use it to play the actual movie (DVD ripped to their hard drive). I prefer to just play the DVD and not take up all of the hard drive space so, before the pre-movie stuff starts, I queue up the main feature in the DVD player and put it on pause. I then use a macro programmed into my remote control to easily switch between the HTPC (Mac Mini) and the DVD player (and putting it in play mode). It makes for a pretty seemless transition.
VLC is available for several platforms. It's a great little program.
Mark
themidpoint 08-03-06, 09:54 AM Thanks for the feedback everybody thats what I needed to know. Right now I only have a single disc DVD player but the idea of a multi-disc or dual DVD players may be an option. I would like to learn more about HTPC and how to integrate that with my system do I even need a DVD player? I would also like to get more information on that VLC program where is it available at, cost? etc... this may not be the proper thread for this but if somebody could steer me in the right direction ie. thread, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be purchasing that CERT or maybe wait for the new one when it comes out hopefully that will be soon... Again many thanks for all the help. Joe :D
Custom Intros 08-03-06, 10:57 AM Joe,
VLC is freeware and is a free download. I'm not sure if we're allowed to link to it or not, but go to the .org side of things and literally type in those letters.
I look forward to having you as a customer.
Richard
rlu929s 08-03-06, 12:17 PM When using another DVD player I"m assuming the just go buy a cheap single disc walmart special then have some kind of switcher? Is that correct.
I just might go that route but it I would have to get up and switch it though.
FoolintheRain 08-05-06, 08:17 PM If my disc ever comes... (sorry, just crazy with anticipation :) I have a Denon Universal player and an RCA HD-DVD player. I plan on using the intro on whichever player will NOT be showing the feature. Cue them both up and just use my reciever to switch between the 2. Should work pretty seemlessly The only lag time might be the projector since I have the HD-DVD player going thru component and the Denon going thru DVI. I'll hopefully see soon :)
pajames2 08-11-06, 04:30 AM Richard,
I placed an order via your site on the 29th July, to date I haven't heard whether this has even been posted to me, i've sent two e-mails to the site, both of which have gone unanswered. Do you advise customers when the order has shipped? I am getting a little concerned.
Paul
Custom Intros 08-11-06, 09:47 AM Paul,
I replied to your message this morning. I found them in my spam folder. Not calling you spam. Yours shipped, please keep me updated as to when you receive it.
Thanks,
Richard
Just ordered the custom DVD, looking forward to it. How long does it take to get out?
Custom Intros 08-22-06, 11:07 PM We should be able to get yours out this week. I'll keep you updated and thanks for your order!
Richard
suffolk112000 08-23-06, 12:14 PM So, when is the intro with Tiko (for those that don't know... the animated character you see in the OP of this thread) going to be released.
Craig
Custom Intros 08-23-06, 03:34 PM Craig,
It's being worked on by Skywalker Sound as I type this. As soon as they're done, it's pretty much a wrap and print. Hopefully 3 weeks tops. Things are taking longer but we're getting some post production work done to make sure the disc is top notch.
Cover art was finished this last weekend and the slides are coming along. Also, we're discussing our workflow for Blu-ray and HD-DVD to try to offer those version day and date but I don't know if it's going to happen yet.
Richard

I ordered the DVD Intro to use to pass time while waiting for the HD DVD to boot up.... Any chance of getting a 7.1 version for DVD in the near future?
Optical Serenity 08-24-06, 09:55 AM I have to say, I bought this intro, and showed it along with some trailers to my family before the feature presentation. They loved CERT! It was a hit, they seemed to like the intro part of my presentation more than the movie!
I am very happy with my intro, and I was extremely thrilled with the customer service from Richard. If anyone is reading this, pull the trigger. You have no idea how professional and fun the CERT intro is. It truely will make your presentation a hundred times better.
Thanks again Richard!
I can't wait for the next one!!! HD-DVD intro! DRooooool.
Custom Intros 08-24-06, 02:13 PM TomsHT,
Our next intro called "Tiko" will be in 7.1 for the hi-defintion version (no format decided yet). Granted here may be DTS and Dolby + version on the disc as well until HDMI 1.3 can pass all 8 channels digitally. But yes, we're aiming for the the stars on Tiko.

Will you be letting everyone know when that is on the fourm or e-mailing from your site ? Any idea what the price will be for the custom version ? Hmm... looks like I need to hold off on ordering then. Just got Steve's Coca-Cola jpeg set and am going to set up TheaterTek on my HTPC to cycle through random slides and the custom intro before starting the DVD, but I'll wait for the 7.1.
H.264 or MPEG-4/AVC would be sweet for these.
Thanks,

Just ordered my custom CERT. Put me on the pre-order list for Tiko too (with the loyalty discount of course).
Got my disk on Monday, just wanted to say thanks and that it looks great. The whole family was impressed. I'll look forward to seeing anything new you put out in the future. Will we automatically be contacted when the next disk is released?
rlu929s 08-30-06, 02:01 PM What's the status on Tiko? Still waiting on the format wars to be decided upon?
Custom Intros 08-31-06, 09:07 AM Tiko is on schedule (the audio is being created now) for a Standard Definition release. We create all the animation masters in high definition so we're ready when a workflow presents itself for either HD-DVD or Blu-ray.
In addition all the audio we're creating is future forward, meaning 7.1 96/24 or 192 for lossless encoding. It's a rip right now and we're one of the few small companies paying for it but I think it'll be worth it to keep putting out a world class product.
Right now there isn't anything ready to handle it yet from start to finish on the one-off customized level. We are in the loop with a few companies which are getting there. Plus it's also expensive at the moment for matierals.
So in short, coming soon.
Richard
Hi Richard,
I ordered the original Cert yesterday, should I have gotten an email or anything? so far nothing. I ordered through the avs link in one of your posts.
Thanks

I am interested in a 2.35 intro with 7.1 sound.

Question: As we wait for the HD DVD and Blu-ray editions, will the standard DVD release contain an HD TS file the way that CERT does now?
lawdawg 09-10-06, 01:47 PM 2.35:1 intro. I'm SOOO there. Let me know when we can pre order!

That is what I am waiting for.
Tiko in standard Def. ;)
Also, as someone else recently requested, can you tease us with another shot or two of the new intro?
Craig
Custom Intros 10-06-06, 07:28 PM I'll have more news on Tiko after this weekend.
Here's another peek!

rboster 10-06-06, 08:36 PM Fellow AVS members, I've had a opportunity to view some of the new intro...here are my initial impressions of the small clip that I saw without sound effects...
The Tiko character is playing up and down the hall way. His ball bounces into the HT room. He discovers the remote and turn the system on. After playing with the remote he finds himself inside the movie that he activated.
Number #1 of the neat features is the option to customize three different messages...WOW. Who else offers that much personalization for the price?
I loved the Tiko character. Very kid friendly and unique. I LOL when he hit the screen and found himself inside the movie.
2nd, the room and specific style of remote I think is an enviroment that everyone can relate to....I think you captured the average HT room really well.
3rd, let's face it the character is really a replacement for the child in the family. He's playing with his ball then finds himself in Dad's HT room....wow, he's always wanted to try the remote and "play" in the room. What child couldn't relate to that senario? I think you tapped into a real family winner with this new intro.
Richard terrrific job and thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to seeing the final product.
Ron
DVDs are being mailed out this week and into next. We have large batches going out. Look for yours soon!
I received my CERT intro and am pleased with it. Looking foward to Tiko.
I received my Cert within the last month and everyone loves it. I put it in a standard dvd player while my HD DVD player is booting up. Will the new Tiko intro come in standard dvd? I love my HD player to deaf but as I said I run the intro while the HD is booting...
Custom Intros 10-07-06, 01:37 PM Tiko will first be introduced as an SD disc. Also, of note, we switched servers and hosting accoutns so if you've emailed us recently and have not gotten a reply, it's not personal. Everything SHOULD be working as of today. So go ahead and resend or call us as listed in the contact info of the sites!
Richard
mheadroom 10-07-06, 03:26 PM Richard,
Did the email troubles also effect orders? I placed on last night then immediatly asked if you would be able to use a differnt line. Is this something that didn't go though?
Custom Intros 10-07-06, 10:31 PM Max,
I got your email today, will take care of the different line!
Richard
mheadroom 10-07-06, 10:34 PM Cool! Didn't know if it would be too much type. Thanks =)
buddahead 10-13-06, 11:51 AM Is the new intro in HD-DVD YET AND 2.35.Thanks for reply.I have the original cert intro.BUDDA
suffolk112000 10-16-06, 12:46 PM The Tiko screen shot looks pretty good.
So when can I place my order for the new Tiko intro??
Craig
Custom Intros 10-16-06, 09:27 PM Within days for pre-order. It's in the final stages but many people have put on here they wanted pre-orders and they wanted pre-order pricing. It's coming. I know we've been saying that but the end is near and you'll see a new website with more information and a new store.
As for the 2.35 intro, it's in the storyboarding stages but it will be getting done.
Richard
suffolk112000 10-17-06, 08:12 AM Thank you.
Looks like a purchase is in the immediate future.
Craig
As for the 2.35 intro, it's in the storyboarding stages but it will be getting done.
Will this be an entirely new intro, or just a reframed version of Tiko?
Custom Intros 10-17-06, 11:59 AM Josh,
Entirely new.
Richard
frydiggity 10-19-06, 05:02 PM Whenever I check in on my thread subscriptions and see no activity on this one after Richard keeps telling us the new intro is right around the corner, I hear Tom Petty singing in the back of my head.
"Oh, The waaaaaaaiiiiitin' is the harrrrrrr-dessssssssst parrrrrrrrt."
Custom Intros 10-20-06, 12:24 AM http://www.bitstreamanimation.com/tikocountdown3.jpg
KenLerch 10-20-06, 09:57 AM Can't wait to get my hands on this one. The preview I've seen is amazing.
BitstreamWebGuy 10-20-06, 01:00 PM Just chiming in to talk about the new web site and store!
The new Custom Intros web site will be launching soon (this weekend, we hope!) and will include an all new look and feel that matches the new Bitstream Animation website. In addition, we've partnered with a new e-commerce company to create a wonderful shopping experience. Sure, the old site worked fine - but this store will be top notch!
For now, we'll still be accepting PayPal for payments. We'll look into other CC options in the future.
As always, your input means a lot to us, so feel free to write and tell us what you want!
Best,
Todd Kelly
Bitstream Web Manager
P.S. - If you were paying attention to this thread, you might have realized that I have a few roles on the Tiko disc...keep your ears peeled :)
http://www.bitstreamanimation.com/tikocountdown3.jpg
Tease!!!!! :p
rboster 10-20-06, 08:20 PM Well, I got to see and HEAR a portion of the new intro. See my previous comments about the visual story of the intro. I think Richard and the crew at Bistream have out-done themselves.
To recap, the main character Tiko finds himself in the HT room. Imagine a child playing in the hallway and stumbling into the parents Home Theater. When Tiko starts to use the remote it vanishes and pops throughout the story in the back, front, left to right....each pop is a sound effect in each separate speaker. I love the use of the remote popping in and out with sound directional effects for each speaker. The two other aspects that really stand out are the musical score and message fonts...both are very pixar and professional. I think guests will be blown away by the level of animation and sound then to see their host's name and personal messsages up on the screen....well, they are going to assume we paid hundreds to develop something this outstanding. This truly stands out as a very professional product something one would expect from Disney studios.....but it's done for each individual and I think the WOW factor just went up a few notches with Bitstreams latest intro.
Sign me up...can't wait to place my order.
Ron
I know it has been a while, but don't forget about those that won the contest back in February when you started us on this thread! ;) Come on, maybe we could get to be the first for a full review? Oh man... It's just like Christmas, and I just ordered a new Sony Pearl to go with it! :D It would be sweet to have it for the first big movie party showing off the new setup.
Custom Intros 10-22-06, 04:15 PM If you purchased CeRT, you've got mail.
If not, what's stopping you? Oh wait you can now purchase Tiko too.
Richard
mheadroom 10-22-06, 08:47 PM I didn't get any mail, but maybe it's becasue I'm still waiting for my copy of Cert to arrive?
buggdog 10-22-06, 09:03 PM Will there be a discount for people who ordered the CeRt preview? Maybe like a frequent buyer club or something?
Custom Intros 10-22-06, 09:20 PM Max,
Yours is in production and will be done soon. Check your spam filter since anyone who ordered up until yesterday got the email.
buggdog, the email was exactly a thank you for already owning CeRT. If you're an owner of CeRT let me know and I'll send out the coupon code.
Anyone who did not get their email, make sure to check your spam filter or email me. I'll match up ther records and get you the coupon code. Email me at richard@bitstreamanimation.com with COUPON CODE in the subject.
For as long as the pre-order is up, if you buy CeRT, you'll get the coupon code for Tiko! Also, we are working with a new store so there will be some bugs. We'll stay in contact with you to make sure everything gets taken care of.
We have a 3-4 week ship time on this as a few post production items are being fixed but we can't wait to start shipping Tiko. I will also stay in contact with everyone regarding ship times and orders.
The response has been great so far!
Richard
BelowAverageJoe 10-22-06, 10:56 PM Got the email and placed an order today. New web site looks very good and order process was easy.
Richard, I wasn't able to view the sample video (probably my PC - not the site), so I wasn't sure what the custom message would look like. I'm assuming it was similar to the CeRT wording, so I just provided my theater name. Is that enough info?
Looking forward to the HD version, too.
Lumpy69 10-23-06, 12:28 AM Damn near fell out my chair! $16.50 to ship to Canada????? Does it come in a gold wrapper?
Anyway to work on that?????
bakpakva 10-23-06, 08:19 AM Looks like a good deal on the pre-order, but I am holding out for the HD-DVD version! :D
Custom Intros 10-23-06, 08:27 AM Below Average Joe,
Yes the message is very similar. You need the latest version of Quicktime (a free download from www.apple.com/quicktime ) in order to view it.
Lumpy69,
We'll change that and I'l let you know. The store doesn't alwys take what we tell it for shipping the first time.
For those of you who want the Hd-DVD version, I'm not sure how long you'll have to wait. We're waiting on a workflow to be introduced that can handle both Blu-ray and HD-DVD without being thousands of dollars. Not to say we won't invest in new technoclogy and software to make these, but right now, the cost of a single burn HD-DVD or Blu-ray would be cost prohibitive.
Rest assured though there will be hi-def versions as everything we do is rendered at 1080p/24fps. Oh and Tiko will be 7.1 surround so we have that issue of HDMI 1.3 finding its way into receivers and DVD players.
Tiko will also have the .ts file for HTPC owners though.
Richard
BitstreamWebGuy 10-23-06, 08:51 AM Shipping rates are automatically calculated by the US postal system - we use a service that ties into their live rates.
I'll look into the shipping costs, and see what can be done.
Thanks,
Todd
BitstreamWebGuy 10-23-06, 09:58 AM OK - we switched the shipping type for international orders. That should make it a little easier on your wallets!
Thanks,
Todd
thetooth 10-23-06, 10:27 AM If we are ordering both intros.... will cert ship now rather than at the same time as the other?
Custom Intros 10-23-06, 11:03 AM Yes, we will ship CeRT either as soon as it's done as a custom version, or within 48 hours if it's standard.
Richard
Lumpy69 10-23-06, 11:37 AM Canadian Shipping rates look much better! A+++
Thanks for looking into that. My pre-order will be going in on payday.
mheadroom 10-23-06, 12:14 PM Richard,
Hate to be a pain, but could you resend the email to my other email address? I think something is blocking. Thanks.

Custom Intros 10-23-06, 03:05 PM Will do!
Richard
Chris Dotur 10-23-06, 06:20 PM Well, I couldn't wait any longer, so I went ahead and ordered. Just clicked "Pay" two seconds ago. I'm looking forward to a Blu-Ray version of one or more of these intros, but I figure I'll do the standard versions for now, since the price is pretty good.
One question - since I ordered both "CeRT" and "Tiko", was I supposed to get a coupon? (from CeRT for Tiko)
Looking forward to seeing what everybody is so excited about. I have a different customized intro that I enjoy, but sounds like these are different, and I'm a sucker for HT demo material.
buggdog 10-23-06, 06:24 PM What customized messages are people creating for this intro now that we have up to 3 messages?
Custom Intros 10-24-06, 09:08 AM Chris,
I'll get you a coupon code. Thanks for your order. As for your custom messages, that's the fun part. "Welcome to the Show!" "Don't spill your pop on my sofa."
Have fun with it!
Richard
I didn't get an email either.
Custom Intros 10-24-06, 02:49 PM McCall,
Check your private message inbox.
Richard
BitstreamWebGuy 10-25-06, 03:32 PM It seems we have everything ironed out - but please let us know if you need anything else.
And, stay tuned for even more exciting releases!
Todd
Scott-C 10-25-06, 09:20 PM The Tiko intro looks awesome Richard! I'll be ordering one as soon as I can figure out what I want for a message. I love my CeRT intro - the first guests I played it for actually applauded at the end of it - and Tiko should generate the same response!
Scott-C 10-25-06, 10:31 PM OK, just ordered it and am looking forward to seeing how it looks!
coolhand 10-28-06, 01:52 PM Ditto. Can't wait for Tiko!
flyNAVY 10-28-06, 09:54 PM Order placed. These guys never cease to amaze.
Simon2150 10-31-06, 08:07 PM I ordered from bitstream website and my order # was 1042. I sent email inquiring on shipping date and hadn't received a response. just would like to know when order will ship. Thanks.

I believe they are still in PRE-ORDER mode for Tiko?
Custom Intros 10-31-06, 11:40 PM Simon2150,
Your CeRT order will go out this week, Tiko will go out in 3-4 when it is finished.
Thanks!
Richard
Simon2150 11-01-06, 09:05 AM Thanks Custom Intros, I look forward to receiving my DVDs.
Will I receive an email once the order has shipped?
suffolk112000 11-01-06, 01:31 PM Tiko looks like it is going to be a good one.
I am waiting for some reviews of end users once they have them in hand. ;)
Craig
BitstreamWebGuy 11-01-06, 04:31 PM Simon,
Our web store has automatic email notifications, so you should expect a note when the item ships. You can also log into the site to view your current orders.
Thanks!
Todd
Simon2150 11-01-06, 08:23 PM Bitstreamwebguy: I browsed the custom intros and your main website and couldn't find the log-in area. Any hints?
thetooth 11-02-06, 10:01 AM Simon, it is at the top of the page. Says "My Account"... First goto store, then click one of the dvds and then it should show up.
**Also, I ordered both on 10/23 and both show pending. I have been billed and they were not custom ones. I understand that tiko will take a bit, but I thought cert would be shipped right away???
BitstreamWebGuy 11-02-06, 11:06 AM thetooth is correct - though I realize that that's a convoluted way to find the login. I'll add it to the main "store" page to make it easier.
Thanks!
Todd
Just ordered Cert and the pre-order for Tiko. Is Tiko really just a pre-order as of right now? How long until it goes out?

Simon2150 11-02-06, 11:30 PM Thanks for the info bitstream and the tooth! Just thought I'd also inquire on what the delay is in shipping out the CeRT DVD? I ordered on 10/30/06 and it hadn't been shipped yet. Thanks.
Custom Intros 11-02-06, 11:41 PM Simon2150,
Orders will be going out tomorrow for standard DVDS. Customized ones wil lbe in cue and will be caught up on by next week. So, anyone who ordered a standard or customixed version will be seeing them mailed to them throughout next week.
Richard
BitstreamWebGuy 11-03-06, 09:03 AM Tiko is coming, fear not! We are currently working with our sound staff to have all of the additional elements mixed and added to the disc (if you've seen the site's page with disc contents, you can see that you're getting a LOT more than just Tiko on the disc :))
We truly appreciate the response to our pre-sale. You are our audience, and we are working hard to make this the best intro EVER :)
Thanks again,
Todd

I just checked your website and my order is still pending (no email update either). I didn't order a custom one, only a standard one. Will it ship Monday (hopefully)?

thetooth 11-09-06, 10:03 AM I sitll have not received my CeRT :(
Custom Intros 11-09-06, 11:34 AM thetooh,
Yours was sent out USPS Priority. If you don't have it by Friday let me know, you should have it today.
Richard
thetooth 11-09-06, 06:45 PM Got it.... thanks!!! :) I can't wait to get home to watch it.
DocSpine99 11-17-06, 10:00 AM Waiting on Cert. Soon?
Dr. Novak
Chris Dotur 11-18-06, 05:01 PM We must be getting close to Tiko! Should be fun.
I haven't received CeRT, yet... ordered about 4 weeks ago. Gift certificate for Tiko was supposed to come with that purchase of CeRT, too.
Looking forward to all of it, when it comes!
Custom Intros 11-18-06, 10:20 PM CeRTs are being mailed out Monday. All orders will be caught up as of this week. If you do not have yours by Thursday, let me know.
Also, we have received a few back due to incorret addresses or "no such name". Make sure when you order you put your name and correct mailing address. I'll be sending out emails to those orders.
Tiko is on pace and the audio mix is being worked on. It's the last piece of the puzzle, look for an update email soon.
And thanks for all your orders!
Richard
No Cert, no mail on Turkey day (Thursday).

Great to hear. Seems like the wait is taking forever!!! :)

Chris Dotur 11-23-06, 04:45 AM Richard-
Still have not received my order now on Thursday.
- Placed the order for both CeRT and Tiko on Oct 23rd, a month ago
- Order number 1021
- Payment was sent the same time, account acknowledges order was paid
- Address, phone, etc, has been checked and confirmed as correct on my account
- Order status still listed as "processing", both items listed as "pending"
- Gift certificate/refund for Tiko was supposed to come with CeRT, it did not, even though I paid in full for both items.
I can understand delays, but I just need to get a realistic estimate for all items promised. Still looking forward to the future release of Tiko when it does come out, too.
pcdoctor 11-23-06, 07:50 AM Just a guess but since Tiko isn't ready, maybe he is going to send Cert and Tiko in the same package. Then again, an older post did say Cert order went out.
Simon2150 11-25-06, 03:48 AM Well I ordered my CeRT and Tiko at the same time and I received my CeRT 1.5 weeks after I ordered it. There was a little delay there, but certainly not a month. I hope they address the order.
Custom Intros 11-27-06, 10:04 AM Dr. Novak,
Your CeRT came back, I got the address incorrect, it'll go out tomorrow overnight.
Chris,
Your CeRT was mailed out three weeks ago, I'll resend with tracking today.
Actually we're caught up with most orders aside from over this weekend. I will be getting an update on Tiko out soon too.
Richard
Just ordered a Cert basic intro over the weekend so I'm one of those you haven't got to yet. ;)
Can't wait to fire it up on my HT and look forward to Tiko coming out soon!
