Key Digital HDMI 4X1 Switcher/Processor
have been checking out this new switcher/processor: nice unit that works well
Question: I uploaded 3.2 firmware (came with 3.0) but I need to know how to confirm the unit actually took the upgrade?
Thanks for any help :)
Hi Mark!
I am considering this unit for my Sammy HLS-5088 which can accept 1080p. How is its deinterlacing/scaling of 1080i material to 1080p in for both film & video? How would you rate it against other processors that forum members are commonly using i.e. DVDO, Lumagen etc.? It is a good value for what it does but I want to make sure it is one of the better processor if not the best. Appreciate your input.
Thanks,
How is the scaling/deinterlacing of SD/HD in Key Digital units? Would appreciate any input from HD Leeza/Hanna owners. I am looking at KD HDMI 4x1 scaler/switcher.
I am hooking up one of these Key Digital 4/1 switcher/processors tomorrow. I have been told it does a great job of scaling. I want to be able to compare it to other units like the HDQ and VP50... I thought it would be interesting....
I tried this unit in my setup. Compared to HDQ & VP50 it had lot more judder. Scaling was good.
Thanks vinodk. I will do some A/B/C tests tomorrow with them. For the price I do not expect it to compete with the VP50 but I thought I would try anyway. I am sick like that! :D

So how did the tests come out?
did you ever run some tests of the KD joerod? thx.
I played with it for a little while... For the price it does a nice job. It does not compete with the higher end scalers but I would not expect it to. If one is looking for a good HDMI switcher with a little scaling then the KD is your answer...
Hi all,
I noticed that there are discrete rs232 codes for the various scaling and aspect ratio options. Has anyone tried using their universal remotes to make use of these discrete codes via IR remote?

would you guys use this instead of a external switch? I have a onkyo sr605 and I need two more HDMI ports. My setup is below
1. Blu-ray
2. Hd-dvd
3. HTPC (sd-dvds vista media center video server )
4. HD sat ( future unit )
Once I get the key digital switcher/scaler (10/21/08 )I'm going to run all units to the switch and out to the onkyo and then to my projector. The HTPC will go digital coax or fiber for sound from the switch to the onkyo. Do you guys think this is the way to go?
