Would this be a good screen for my needs?

I have the Sharp DT-500 and I'll be sitting 15' from the screen would the Vutec Silverscreen 103" or the 110" 6.0 gain be good for me?.

Mostly watching HDTV via Toshiba HD-a1 and it's in an apartment living room, so I'd only be viewing at night with all lights off.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, got me a Matte white 120" electric motorized screen...for less than 400 bucks.

I've got plenty of lumens and plenty on contrast so I should have nothing to worry about.

This projector rocks.

Just received my Toshiba HD-DVD player, wasn't blown away as I thought I would.

But I have to say this, the upconversion on regular DVD's are awesome, and allows for a much bigger picture size without losing picture quality.

Does the DT-500 have Lens Shiift (for moving the image right and left)?

The Dt-500 does not have a Left/Right lense shift. It can however to up and down a few inches via the menu/remote. The DT-500 looks wonderful - even tossing it on a nasty white'ish wall!

I'm super happy with mine.

I used black cloth cover a wall, and use a black trimmed remote controlled screen, so I get a good full black border in almost all widescreen formats, i'm super happy with the set-up.

But I have to say this, the upconversion on regular DVD's are awesome, and allows for a much bigger picture size without losing picture quality.

An update on this response, the reason I was a little dissapointed with the Toshiba's HD movie viewing but it was totally my fault, I switch from 720 to 1080 on the Toshiba and the picture is jaw dropping, now I know what the big deal is.

I've also gone farther on darkning my room, I've covered ceiling and walls and four feet of the floor directly in front of the screen with black cloth, less than a hundred bucks makes a huge difference as nothing to distract eye from picture.

You definately need 8 foot ceiling for ceiling mount on this set-up.

I used to own the Infocus 4805 and I thought that it was cool and a good deal, and some may think it's not a big difference, let me put it this way, yes you pay a little more than twice for the projector but you get 10 times plus better picture quality so the more expensive 720 projector is actually the good deal.

Save up and get a 720 projector.

I can't say enough for the remote controlled screen, the wall is covered in black cloth and with every aspect ratio having the power to raise the screen to fit and have full black border and black wall at finger tips, is just awesome.

Just ordered the DT-500, can't wait for it to arrive. I now have the screen issue you had some time back. What motorized screen did you buy for $400 and from where? You mentiond a 6.0 gain in your first post. Is such a high gain value required for this projector. I have a 25'x20' room in which this will go, I don't have alot of extra light floating around.

Any help is appreciated!

Can you PM me or post the answers to 02vfr800's questions? I am in the same boat.

Just bought the 106" Dalite Contour from Costco to replace my Greywolf but wanted to see what screen you installed at half the price of my Contour.

Thanks in advance.

PM, sent.

PS. Finally got 5 theater seats on two platforms, now the room looks like a theater.

Love it, 5 seats for a little over 850 bucks at Costco.

Almost done with my project.
