This question is for anyone in the know, Ken H, JWhip, "mcuban" Are the two of them even talking anymore? I know everyone with comcast on here wants this channel/s and along with myself have been requesting it, but is it really doing any good if their not even talking anymore.... :(

Mark’s most recent comment on the Comcast situation was last December 12:

“…And as far as comcast, call them early and often, sign the petition, email them. We continue to talk to them, but there is nothing new to report.”

I forgot about the petition! Just signed, I'm number 480. We should be able to get more signatures than that...

Exactly when is this petition going to be sent? It's been around for months and only has about 480 signatures. I guess we better keep sending emails and hope they are read by humans before the canned response is sent.

I agree! It looks like that petition has been around for awhile. Does Comcast even know about it?

I've seen more than enough of Mark Cuban's big head the last few weeks on Comcast.

It's not a dead issue as long as they keep talking.... when the negotiating stops then it's dead imho.

That's what I was trying to find out. Were they talking or at a dead lock...

It's not dead as long as their competition carries it. When we see Verizon and other telco's start making headway in offering home TV service, then we should see it.

I have COMCAST and enjoy it. But when Verizon FIOS TV is offered to me, I'll sign up mainly because I want HDNet and HDNet Movies.

I'll take it, "HDNET & HDNET Movies" as long as it doesn't raise the price of the HD package! I'm tired of getting squeezed for more $$ because its HD! I had it while I had D* and sure it looked good, but not all the programming interested me. I quit watching HD, just because its HD awhile ago.

I'll take any other channel (and preferably not another sports channel), for more variety of content.

It's not a dead issue, but no progress is being made.

I loved HDnet when I lived in San Diego with Time Warner and Cox. Comcrap has such a horrible line up of HD here in Albuquerque. Time Warner charged an extra $6 a month for HDnet, InHD and ESPN HD which I paid happily for more HD.

I would be happy to pay extra for an HD pack of several new HD channels. Comcast offers less than 10 free HD channels in ABQ not even all the broadcast networks. If I pay $40 more a month I can get hbo showtime cinemax and starz in HD. I get more HD with an antenna than I do on cable so Im already paying $75 extra a month for cable television.

I would love to get HDnet on comcrap. Hell any new HD that isnt a "Rental" thats only around for two weeks like UniversalHD for the Olympics or ESPN2 for the world cup.

If they drop INHD2 as rumored they should take the money they spend on that channel and use it instead to get HDNET/HDNET movies.

I have to agree with this..After being in a TWC area, I don't mind paying $7 for HDNet and the other HD channels on a separate tier.

It's too bad they bend over for ESPN and continue to jack up cable prices, but they won't do it for HDNet.

This is one of the top reasons I stay with D* over Comcast. No HDNet - no sale.

How many do we need? Is 720 enough or do we need 1080?

According to LonghornXP at Satelliteguys it looks like HDNET may be on Comcast by years end.

I have very high hopes for this to happen because it seems that Comcast will be adding both HDNet channels into none other than a new digital tier. Right now most areas have a Sports Pack tier and some have a Digital Premier Pack. Simply put Comcast will merge the Sports Pack and/or the Digital Premier Pack into a new tier which will be called the Sports and Entertainment Pack. This is scheduled to be completed in December and I've been told that both HDNet channels will be included in this new tier. They are also trying to get NFL Network into this tier as well.

I hope I'm not wrong and I do wish Cuban would chime in and tell us more about this if he can.

looks like another $6-7 in addition to any possible increases.

If S&E has HDNEt it is a must for me.

I guess I can no longer avoid the "sports" tier. I already have all the "entertainment" channels. No Digital Premier Pack here.

In all due respect, he also said ESPN2 on TWC prior to the first pitch of last Spring - as well as a few other HD Channels we are waiting for.

Yes I did say this but I also believe many others did as well including none other than KenH himself. That was my mistake for trusting good old Fred who at the time was the highest contact you could get as VP of programming for TWC.

So is there any movement with HDNet and Comcast?

What do you mean, its been on since the end of last year in the new sports and entertainment pack noted above.

The post shows December 2006. This is near the end of February 2007 and I haven't seen any info about a Sports PAck with the HDNet channels on Comcast.

I had both HDnet and HDNM movies when my cable system was Adelphia, had them for years, even way bcak when I was a D* customer in the beginning, I have never been without the two.

Last November Comcast took over my Adelphia area, and on 2/14/07 I lost those in favor of TNT HD, UHD, and MHD................

I have complained every day since........but it falls on deaf ears I'm sure.

I read on another forum that there was a breakdown in negotiations between the two sides, so from the looks of it, I wouldn't expect to see HDNET or HDNET Movies on Comcast at this time. To me it doesn't seem like a dead issue yet.
