View Full Version : IS Terminator 2 coming to HDDVD? cubenruben 06-24-06, 10:01 AM just wondering since this is the best movie of all time. I want this to come to hddvd real bad. is it coming or as of right now it is only on blu ray? Dr Kain 06-24-06, 10:08 AM Nope, it is owned by Sony. MikeZ1998 06-24-06, 10:46 AM T2, from Studio Canal, coded in VC-1 & DTS-HD lossless was announced. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=671301 Mr. Cinema 06-24-06, 01:38 PM Terminator 2 is now part of LionsGate's library. Since they're heavily rumored to be the studio who's going to now support HD DVD, I would expect it on that format sometime this year. Since they're heavily rumored to be the studio who's going to now support HD DVD, I would expect it on that format sometime this year. I hope Lionsgate releases stuff on HD DVD I would love to see this movie and Lord of War in HD DVD. Gary Murrell 06-24-06, 02:48 PM Terminator 1 is Sony, or was, MGM went to Fox ;) T2 is Artisan or now Lionsgate, I need the Special Ed of T2 on HD-DVD now!!, from that new 1080p master they made, talk about sweet pix  -Gary Threader 06-24-06, 02:57 PM Too bad for T1 & T2 but if you want something to look forward to on HD DVD Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (Warner) slated for release in near future joerod 06-24-06, 05:03 PM I have it for D-THEATER so I don't care if it comes or not... :) Cliff Stephenson 06-24-06, 06:30 PM I have it for D-THEATER so I don't care if it comes or not... :) The D-THEATER that was made from the older, softer, dirtier master and not the new-and-improved frame-by-frame restored version that is used for all new releases? OK, you enjoy that now. :D joerod 06-24-06, 06:35 PM I will enjoy it with my three other T2 versions (SD dvd x 2 and PSP)... That dirtier D-THEATER version blows away the sd versions (by a ton)... And so far with what BluRay is offering (upconverted looking transfers) I think I will enjoy my D-THEATER version better anyway... :D Cliff Stephenson 06-24-06, 06:47 PM I will enjoy it with my three other T2 versions (SD dvd x 2 and PSP)... That dirtier D-THEATER version blows away the sd versions (by a ton)... And so far with what BluRay is offering (upconverted looking transfers) I think I will enjoy my D-THEATER version better anyway... :D Title of this thread: "IS Terminator 2 coming to HDDVD?" And your reply was: "I have it for D-THEATER so I don't care if it comes or not... :) " Nobody said anything about Blu-ray. joerod 06-24-06, 07:18 PM I expect it to be released on BD, so my point is I don't care if it comes out for either format. I am very satisfied with the D-THEATER version. I own 92 titles on D-THEATER and I will not repurchase any for either HD disc format... :) Dr Kain 06-24-06, 11:34 PM Terminator 1 is Sony, or was, MGM went to Fox ;) still doesn't help when Fox is only supporting BR. T2 is Artisan or now Lionsgate, I need the Special Ed of T2 on HD-DVD now!!, from that new 1080p master they made, talk about sweet pix  -Gary Again, LGF is only supporting BR as well. :( Robert D 06-25-06, 01:29 AM still doesn't help when Fox is only supporting BR. Again, LGF is only supporting BR as well. :( Well there still is that persistent rumor floating around that LG is going to support HD DVD. Not much hope there but on the bright side it's about the same odds as Blu-ray having dual layer discs this year. :) Dr Kain 06-25-06, 02:45 AM lmfao racerx77 06-25-06, 08:54 AM I expect it to be released on BD, so my point is I don't care if it comes out for either format. I am very satisfied with the D-THEATER version. I own 92 titles on D-THEATER and I will not repurchase any for either HD disc format... :) Then why bother posting in an HD-DVD thread? joerod 06-25-06, 10:08 AM I can post wherever the hell I want. Last time I checked I have many posts. Besides the point is I am telling others who own T2 they to shouldn't worry about getting it if they already own the D-THEATER version. I also own nearly every HD DVD (as well as the HD DVD DEMO) as well. SO I think I qualify for being able to post in the HD DVD area. Mr. 33 posts! Macros73 06-25-06, 11:34 AM Could it be that you have many posts because you take every opportunity to thread hijack? :D "Is X coming out for A?" Joe: "Ha-ha, I have B!" joerod 06-25-06, 12:47 PM Find any posts where I thread "hijacked"... If I am a thread waster then why do so many AVS members always send me PMs asking my advice or my opinions? Stick around awhile and you will READ enough... Macros73 06-25-06, 01:47 PM If I am a thread waster then why do so many AVS members always send me PMs asking my advice or my opinions? I'm one of the many members who have PM'd you for advice in the past. :D joerod 06-25-06, 02:23 PM Cool! :) RockStrongo 06-25-06, 07:09 PM Yeah,I would pick up T2, Lord of War and Crash immediately when they are released. Gary Murrell 06-25-06, 07:32 PM Joe wasn't hijacking, settle down guys -Gary RockStrongo 06-26-06, 09:51 AM I bet T2 will be released here this fall or at least overseas via Studio Canal....either way, we will have it. If its the overseas version, you will probably just have to pay a bit more. necrolop 07-26-06, 02:24 PM T2 is being released on HD-DVD in France. Topweasel 07-26-06, 03:01 PM I expect it to be released on BD, so my point is I don't care if it comes out for either format. I am very satisfied with the D-THEATER version. I own 92 titles on D-THEATER and I will not repurchase any for either HD disc format... :) Good can you start a thread about not replacing D-theater movies and see if the Admin will sticky it, because I would rather not hear about it every time a person brings up a movie they want to come out or has already came on either new format, that just so happens to have come out on D-VHS as well. johnovox 07-26-06, 03:10 PM Good can you start a thread about not replacing D-theater movies and see if the Admin will sticky it, because I would rather not hear about it every time a person brings up a movie they want to come out or has already came on either new format, that just so happens to have come out on D-VHS as well. Don't worry - you won't hear it often given the limited number of D-Theater releases. pteittinen 07-26-06, 03:17 PM Joe, I can certainly understand that you're proud of your D-Theater library with it's 92 titles. Heck, I would be, too. Having said that, it's a wee bit annoying to see you bounce on a thread and not contribute anything besides "I've got it for D-Theater." It's not like this is the first time of that happening. rlindo 07-26-06, 03:34 PM yeah the "I have it on d-theater" crap is annoying. Nobody gives a ----. Oh and check it out...I too have a lot of posts so that SOMEHOW makes me superior to the newer members. Anyway, I hope we get this movie on HD dvd as in released here in north america. It would be pretty sweet to have in HD because...I don't have it for d-theater!!! :D joerod 07-26-06, 04:42 PM Has anyone even noticed that I posted "I have it on D-THEATER" a month ago? My post already received complaints from members so you guys need to READ before you REPOST the same complaints. P.S. I forgot to mention I own 92 D-THEATER titles! :D kevinuk 07-26-06, 05:13 PM T2 is being released on HD-DVD in France. Also in the United Kingdom BasementBob 10-27-06, 07:44 PM I see Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines in HD-DVD and T1 and T2 in Blue Ray. What does this mean ? I assume the real reasons have been discussed, I did a quick search through the HD-DVD/BlueRay software forums, but didn't find a recent answer. Things that came to mind: a) films owned by different studios, each with/without contract to Sony b) There is no format war - we must buy both players c) People who like quality scripts buy Bluy Ray (T1) d) People who like clear images buy HD-DVD (T3 better print because it's more recent) MickB 10-27-06, 08:53 PM I am looking forward to ordering T2 on HD DVD from Amazon UK. From a past thread I think it will be out in the second wave of European HD DVD releases. DrCrawn 10-27-06, 10:04 PM Terminator 1 is Sony, or was, MGM went to Fox ;) T2 is Artisan or now Lionsgate, I need the Special Ed of T2 on HD-DVD now!!, from that new 1080p master they made, talk about sweet pix  -Gary The Extreme DVD comes with the WMVHD version and an SD version, both from that 1080p master. The WMV is pretty damn good, especially since it's like 10 bucks now. nyg 10-28-06, 12:16 AM I am looking forward to ordering T2 on HD DVD from Amazon UK. Same here! That one and hopefully many others to come. Xylon 10-28-06, 01:53 AM D-THEATER IS DEAD! ! ! ! So . . . . . . . . . . PM me your collection. hehe ;) Graham Johnson 10-28-06, 02:05 AM If they use the same master as the WMV9 version I will be happy. It rocked !! Krobar 10-28-06, 05:26 AM Unfortunately the Second wave is not due until Feb or March. We Europeans will have to make do with the Rambos and Basic instinct with DTS MA in the mean time. Blippy2005 05-25-07, 03:19 AM found on www.hddvd.org http://www.amazon.fr/Terminator-jugement-dernier-HD-DVD/dp/B000L42JP4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1179745730&sr=8-1 ADBNZ 05-25-07, 08:06 AM My, if only there was a thread with over 200 posts about this very title on the opening page! What's that you say? There is? Goodness! acave_uk 05-25-07, 08:23 AM Joerod, the D-VHS image quality is pretty poor compared to the Studio Canal HD-DVD. RabidRob 05-25-07, 09:50 AM c) People who like quality scripts buy Bluy Ray (T1) LOL!!! because there are TONS of quality scripts on Blu  |
