Does anyone have the LN-S4051D and can share thier gaming experience? Im concerned about PQ and motion blur...

cmon guys...no one has this TV?

I was wondering the same thing, but with regard to LN-S5797D model. Essentially they are 1920 x 1080 native resolution, but since there is no mentioning of 1080P support, i assume the visual content is being deinterlaced, which in turn brings me to the question of how critical is the impact of deinterlacing with regard to gaming on a pc with predominantly progressive-scan video cards... I called samsung to find out if there will be a problem using this tv as a pc monitor, but they simply refused to answer the question, only saying that it is not intended for computer use. So then i went to BestBuy's Magnolia center, but neither they had any clue, however, they've suggested that i'm more then welcome to bring over my computer or game console and plug it in to see for myself what's going to come out of it... If i can find a powerbook i could borrow from one of my friends, i'll immediately test it with that LN-S5797D, however, if anyone have already had experience playing any fast moving game on one of these two tvs please let me know.

I haven't read anything to confirm this yet but I would assume that all 1080p displays being released from here on out would support a full 1080p signal over HDMI. They would lose half their customer base if they couldn't support a full signal on the LN-S5797....IMHO. I’m still waiting for more information on this model myself.

Hey there Johnny, what system do you plan on using for gaming?

I have an Xbox360 connecting to my 32" Samsung. There is no motion blur, and the PQ is exceptional. I played through Call of Duty 2 twice now and no problems with response time at all. I think that’s why Microsoft uses Samsung LCDs for their displays on their Xbox360 Kiosks that you see everywhere.

Actually the LCD that I am using has a slower response time and lower contrast than the LN-S4051 and I have zero issues with it. I know you will be very satisfied with that 40". Actually I just picked up the LN-S4041 for my Grandpa for the same use! Hey, he is retired

Yeah, I plan on gaming with my 360, but I'm worried because the screen is bigger, and the response time is the same...the motion blur might become an issue. Just looking for someone with the 40 inch model that an give me a definitive answer.

I just picked this model up (LN-S4051D) last Sat. but haven't had time to hook my 360 up to it yet. I'll try to test it out in the next couple of days and get back with a response. I need to find out within 30 days anyway, but my 360 stays down stairs on the 32" CRT anyway. And I'll be out of the country for 12 of those days.

Don't get in a hurry. I bought mine on "SALE" Saturday for $100 less than the "SALE" price is now! It'll keep bouncing up and down.

Update: I went to circuit city, and low and behold, they had a 360 hooked up to the 4051D! Needless to say, I was BLOWN AWAY by the PQ quality of this set. I played Kameo and Madden, neither had even a hint of motion blur or ghosting, they looked crisp and absolutley spectacular. I cannot wait to get my hands on this set.

I can't stress enough how amazing it looked. I had seen it before in other stores, and the PQ was exellent on an HD feed. But my main concern was gaming, so I was so stressed out over what the 40" would look like, if I should go with a plasma to avoid motion blur/ghosting issues, if I will be happy with an LCD, etc.

I've been worrying over this for weeks, but now I can breathe easy.

To put it simply, this set kicks ass.

Let us know when you get it. I got mine $100 cheaper over the weekend at CC and went by there today with an ad and they price matched that. But A****n has it alot cheaper w/ free shipping and no tax. I'm going to mull it over for the next two weeks and may take mine back and order from A****n.

I think there's a separate thread about that. Doesn't seem really nessasary on the 2006 models. Also I don't think you can disable it, but I may be wrong.

The 2006 32" and 40" that I have seen definitely needed it done. Its adjustable in the service menu , one would hope at least.

i have the lns4051 and when i play call of duty3 i have alot of ghosting and it gets annoying

I have the 4051d and it plays Gears of War with no problems.

You should look into disabling DNie when you get the set at home.
